Chapter 81 The Crescent Group Under Her Command

Sherry thought she was just bragging and secretly rolled her eyes, saying, "Who? Tell us the name."

Katherine replied calmly, "The president of Crescent Group, Ambrosia Hawthorne."

"Crescent Group?" Sherry repeated, and she was stunned for a moment. She instinctively glanced at Lillian, both in disbelief.

Joshua, on the other hand, asked curiously, "Are you talking about the Crescent Group that has developed rapidly in just three years and is about to rival the Big Four?"

Katherine nodded and confirmed, "Yes, that Crescent Group."

Joshua asked again, "I heard the president of Crescent Group is a young woman?"

Katherine nodded again and said, "Yes, a very beautiful woman."

Sherry whimpered with a crying tone and retorted, "Katherine, stop bragging here. How could you possibly know the president of Crescent Group? I think you're just trying to avoid responsibility and fooling us."

Hearing Sherry say this, Joshua became serious again, questioning, "Katherine, do you really know the president of Crescent Group? How do you know her? Make that clear."

Katherine honestly said, "Dad, here's what happened. I found Ms. Hawthorne's phone on the road and returned it to her intact. I heard that the phone contained very important documents for the group, and losing it would have been disastrous."

"Ms. Hawthorne wanted to give me some benefits as a token of thanks, but I insisted on not accepting them. Then she told me that if I ever encounter any difficulties or need help, I could always reach out to her. She even gave me a business card," she then continued.

As she spoke, Katherine took out the business card from her pocket, but before she could hand it to her father, Lillian, whose eyes were gleaming with greed, snatched it to examine.

The business card was particularly sturdy, with very exquisite fonts, and the edges were plated with a thin layer of silver.

Such a high-quality texture clearly indicated it wasn't an ordinary person's business card.

It read: President of Crescent Group · Ambrosia Hawthorne.

Contact Number: (555) 555-6789.

Lillian looked up at Katherine with suspicion.

"Katherine, a business card alone isn't convincing. Unless you can call Ms. Hawthorne right now, then we can believe you," Lillian said.

Sherry nodded in agreement with Lillian and added, "Yes, otherwise, who knows if the number on is real. Can you even get through?"

Joshua also agreed with Lillian and Sherry, saying, "Katherine, make the call now and see if it's Ms. Hawthorne who answers."

Katherine frowned helplessly, and then remarked, "Alright. Let me give it a try then."

Under the supervision of Joshua, Lillian, and Sherry, Katherine took out her phone and dialed the number on the business card.

"Hello, is this Ms. Hawthorne? This is Katherine," Katherine stated.

Seeing the call go through, Joshua and Lillian stared intently at Katherine and listened to her ask the person on the other end if they were interested in investing in a movie.

Sherry, on the other hand, stood by with a disdainful frown, rolling her eyes. She still thought Katherine was pretending and didn't believe she could talk to someone as important as the president of Crescent Group.

However, Katherine suddenly handed the phone to her and then explained, "Sherry, Ms. Hawthorne wants to talk to you about some movie-related matters directly."

Sherry was stunned, her face showing sarcasm. She took the phone with the intention of exposing Katherine and said rudely, "Hello?"

"Ms. Galatea, hello." On the other end of the phone came a voice belonging to a gentle and courteous woman, sounding composed and elegant. It was clearly the voice of a young but confident and successful person.

Sherry couldn't help but feel nervous, and her tone immediately improved, politely answering a few questions about the movie.

After a while, Sherry nodded and smiled, saying thank you and goodbye to the person on the phone before hanging up.

Joshua and Lillian asked eagerly in unison, "How was it, Sherry? What did Ms. Galatea say?"

Sherry looked pleasantly surprised and exclaimed, "Dad, Mom, Ms. Hawthorne said she would consider investing in the movie. But right now, one of their companies is looking for a suitable spokesperson for a new product. She asked if I would be interested in being their spokesperson."

Joshua smiled, "Sherry, this is great news!"

Lillian also smiled and said, "Crescent Group's products are well-known and have a great reputation. If you can be their spokesperson, Sherry, your fame will definitely increase, and your commercial value will rise too."

Sherry's face was filled with pride at being chosen by Ms. Galatea. "Ms. Hawthorne also asked me to text my address to her, and she would send a car to pick me up for a meeting at Crescent Group right now!" she then added.

Lillian couldn't stop smiling and then remarked, "Great! This is wonderful! Sherry, you should go get ready quickly. Ms. Hawthorne's car will be here soon!"

Sherry nodded and hurried off to her room to get ready.

Katherine, however, blocked her way and extended her hand, saying, "Sherry, my phone."

Sherry frowned and arrogantly tossed the phone back to her, then wryly said, "Fine, you can text the address to Ms. Hawthorne!"

Katherine raised her eyebrow and then asked, "Sherry, does this make up for your loss yesterday?"

Sherry rolled her eyes at her and retorted, "What? Are you trying to take credit? Ms. Hawthorne hasn't agreed to invest in my new movie yet; she just said to try being a spokesperson first. When Ms. Hawthorne actually invests in my movie, then you can consider it making up for your mistake."

With that, Sherry bypassed her and went upstairs to get ready.

Katherine sighed and turned to Joshua, "Dad, do I still need to pack my things and go back to the countryside?"

Joshua, happy with the good news, looked at his previously disappointing younger daughter with newfound approval and changed his attitude. He remarked, "Katherine, this is your good fortune from returning Ms. Hawthorne's phone. You can stay in Janetrick."

A sly glint flashed in Katherine's eyes, and she smiled, "Thank you, Dad, for your generosity."

Joshua added, "Katherine, you should accompany your sister to Crescent Group. With you, the honest person who returned the phone, Ms. Hawthorne will have a better impression of your sister. But be careful this time, and don't mess things up."

Katherine nodded obediently and said, "Don't worry, Dad. I'll be very careful."

Lillian, who was smiling beside Joshua, felt very displeased and secretly glared at Katherine.

They almost managed to send this wretch back to the countryside today.

She was lucky and narrowly escaped again. 'However, getting Sherry a high-profile spokesperson opportunity isn’t a bad deal,' Lillian thought.

Twenty minutes later, the doorbell of the Galatea Family's house rang.

Sherry, dressed to the nines, sat arrogantly on the sofa and ordered Katherine to answer the door.

Katherine obediently got up and went to the door. When she opened it, Frank, dressed in a suit, stood there.
