Chapter 611 Do Nothing
Katherine was freakin' out. "What's up with you?"
Ambrosia didn't say a word, and someone else snatched the phone. "She can't talk right now. You can chat with me or hit her up in two hours!"
'That's gotta be that punk Sunny's voice. What the heck are they up to?' Katherine thought.
On the other end, Ambrosia's voice was all husky and kinda sexy. "Enough! Can't you wait till I'm off the phone? Get lost!"
Katherine blushed and slammed the phone down. Her head was pounding. She rubbed her temples and flopped onto the bed, pulling the blanket over her head.
Meanwhile, Ambrosia was pinned down by Sunny. Her usually calm and classy face was all flushed. Not 'cause they were getting it on, but 'cause Sunny had just grabbed her phone and spilled the beans on what they were doing.
'This is so embarrassing! I didn't mean to answer Katherine's call right then. I just didn't expect it to be her since we haven't talked in six months. I thought it was a work call, so I picked up. If it had been work, no biggie.
But hearing Ambrosia's voice freaked me out. Now, Katherine's probably figured out what Sunny and I are up to. Could this get any worse?' The more Ambrosia thought about it, the more pissed she got. She wrapped her arms around Sunny's neck and scratched his back hard, leaving ten deep red marks.
Instead of backing off, Sunny got even more into it.
Ambrosia couldn't take it anymore. "Stop it."
Sunny leaned down and kissed her. "Ambrosia, I like you so much."
Ambrosia's brain went fuzzy from Sunny's kiss, and she pulled him closer.
An hour later, Sunny hopped out of bed to shower while Ambrosia threw on a robe and leaned against the headboard to call Katherine back.
Katherine picked up quick but didn't say anything.
Ambrosia awkwardly said, "Katherine, sorry, I was kinda busy earlier."
Katherine sneered, "All done now?"
Ambrosia chuckled. "Yeah."
Katherine asked, "What are you doing with Sunny? He's just turned 18 and doesn't know squat yet!"
Ambrosia sighed. "I know, I didn't plan for this. Katherine, I know he's your half-brother. Don't worry, I won't hurt him. Once he's over it, I'll back off."
Katherine said, "Are you nuts, Ambrosia? I'm worried about you! He's young, loaded, and won't be short on girls. What harm could he suffer? I'm scared you'll get hurt!"
Ambrosia laughed. "Katherine, you're overthinking it. Once the newness wears off for him, it'll wear off for me too."
Katherine smiled bitterly. "I hope so!"
Before every relationship started, everyone thought they wouldn't be the one to get hurt. But usually, the one who fell in love later got hurt more, and the one who fell in love first changed their mind first.
After the whole mess with Alex, Katherine was pretty much done with love. So, she didn't think Ambrosia could just walk away from Sunny without getting hurt.
For now, Ambrosia was having a blast. The only thing bugging her was the thought of Katherine being mad at her; everything else was whatever.
Ambrosia asked, "By the way, Katherine, why'd you call out of the blue today? Aren't you worried the Melville family might be snooping? Is something up?"
On the other end, Katherine's eyes went dark. "Nothing urgent, just wanted to chat. As for the Melville family, no need to dodge them anymore."
Ambrosia felt something was off. "What happened? Did they find out at today's ribbon-cutting ceremony?"
Katherine shook her head. "Nothing came out at the ceremony, but afterward, Alex found out where I'm staying now."
Ambrosia sat up, alarmed. "He found you? Are you okay? Did Alex give you any trouble?"
Katherine sighed. "No, he didn't do anything. Just left."
Ambrosia relaxed a bit but was still puzzled. "He just left without doing anything? What's that about? He went through all that trouble to find you and then did nothing?"
Katherine said, "I find it weird too. Can't figure it out. He just found the place, knocked on the door, looked at me, and then looked around the room before leaving. Ambrosia, what do you think that means?"
Ambrosia was just as confused. "Did he say anything?"
Katherine replied, "Nope, not a word. Just gave this faint, cold smile before turning to leave."
"A smile?" Ambrosia frowned, feeling uneasy. "Katherine, this has gotta be the calm before the storm. You can't stay there anymore! Frank and I will come to get you."
Katherine squinted. "The calm before the storm?"
'That's exactly how it is. Alex saw my pregnant belly and realized the kid is his, so he didn't do anything for now, fearing it might affect the baby. So, he's waiting for me to give birth safely before showing up to fight for the kid!' Katherine couldn't help but recall the nightmare she had in Jonathan's car, where Alex was fighting her for the baby.
Thinking of this, Katherine also felt she couldn't stay at Jonathan's villa any longer. "Ambrosia, it's late today. You two can come tomorrow. He didn't do anything to me today, which means he doesn't want to act now."
Ambrosia nodded. "Alright, Frank and I will come to get you first thing in the morning."
Then they hung up the phone.
"Who are you picking up tomorrow morning? I wanna come too!" Sunny walked over, drying his hair, and flopped down beside her, snuggling up like a spoiled kid.
Ambrosia put her phone aside and pushed Sunny away, annoyed. "You just took a shower. Stay away from me!"
Sunny pouted. "You still haven't answered me. Who are you picking up tomorrow morning?"
