Chapter 554 Missing You
Alex nibbled on her ear, all cocky and intense. "Quit whining! Who said lying down's a drag? Just chill, and I'll make it worth your while."
His words were dripping with innuendo, making Katherine's face go beet red.
She shoved him away, fuming. "You can't be that tired if you've still got the energy to think about sex!"
With that, she bolted off the bed, putting some distance between them to avoid getting yanked back into his arms.
But then, something felt off.
Alex didn't try to grab her or look annoyed. Instead, he just lay there, propped up on one elbow, his eyes smoldering.
Katherine frowned, puzzled by his look, until she felt a draft. She glanced down and turned crimson again.
She'd forgotten she was stark naked!
Oh, the embarrassment!
And Alex was just soaking it all in?!
Where were her clothes?
For the first time, Katherine felt totally lost, not knowing what to cover first. Her eyes darted around, searching for her clothes.
After a frantic search, she couldn't find the nightgown Alex had stripped off her.
She had no choice but to grab a fresh set of clothes and dash into the bathroom!
Slipping into the light pink dress she grabbed, Katherine stared at her reflection, still blushing furiously.
Why did she always lose her cool around Alex, always ending up flustered and red-faced?
This wasn't the kind of person she admired at all!
Ugh!
She decided to stop overthinking it, as it only made her feel more awkward. Katherine started brushing her teeth.
Just then, the door swung open.
Before she could react, Alex walked in, wrapping his arms around her from behind, just watching her brush her teeth with a smirk.
Katherine was still mortified from her naked dash, and now being hugged by him, she frowned and mumbled through a mouthful of toothpaste foam, "What do you want now?"
Alex grinned. "Nothing, just watching you. Is that a crime?"
Katherine shot back, "What's so fascinating about brushing teeth?"
Alex's eyes were full of warmth. "Brushing teeth isn't interesting, but you make it look good."
Katherine thought it was cheesy, her face reddening again. She snapped, "If you want to watch, fine. Just don't touch me, or I'll get mad."
Surprisingly, Alex agreed. "Okay, I promise not to move."
Since Alex went abroad, he seemed different.
His face was worn out as he hugged her, making it hard not to feel a pang of sympathy.
But he still hadn't explained the woman's voice on the phone, so she couldn't be too soft on him!
Katherine could ask, but she wanted Alex to come clean on his own.
If he just said it, she'd believe him.
If she had to ask first and then he answered, she wouldn't be happy even if she got the answer. She'd feel like he was hiding something or just didn't care enough to explain on his own.
Now, Alex was gently hugging Katherine, but she wasn't feeling all that moved.
She figured all Alex was thinking about was sex.
What else could it be?
But she wasn't having it!
Until Alex came clean about that call, there was no way she was getting down with him.
Nope, not happening!
Katherine finished brushing her teeth, rinsed her mouth, put down the toothbrush and cup, and bent down to wash her face.
During this time, Alex just loosened his hug a bit to let her move freely but didn't really let go of her.
After washing her face and standing up, Katherine reached for a towel, but her hand came up empty!
Alex's long arm reached over first, took the towel, then turned Katherine's body around and gently wiped the water off her face like taking care of a baby.
Katherine was stunned, wanting to refuse. She raised her hand, but Alex's big hand pushed it away, not allowing her to move.
Alex carefully wiped her face. His eyes focused on hers, and he looked down at her, their eyes meeting.
As he wiped, Katherine noticed that the towel was forgotten, replaced by the tenderness of Alex's touch on her cheek. His calloused fingers grazed her lips, a gentle pressure.
It was extremely ambiguous!
Katherine wasn't stupid; she knew what was about to happen. Before Alex could bend down to kiss her, she reached out and covered his mouth with her hand!
She didn't let Alex succeed!
She had decided that she wouldn't let Alex touch her until he voluntarily explained which woman he had been in contact with!
Alex frowned in dissatisfaction, pushing her small hand away and asking, "What's wrong?"
Katherine's face was calm, "Nothing!"
Alex frowned, looking at her. "Then why won't you let me kiss you?"
Katherine pulled at the corners of her mouth, "Alex, you just said you would only watch me wash up and wouldn't move."
Alex leaned in closer, "But you're done washing up, aren't you?"
Katherine turned her face away, not giving him a chance, "Even after washing up, you can't!"
Alex frowned deeply, "Why not?"
Katherine, "Do you think you have the right to have sex with me now?"
Alex seemed not to understand, reaching out to pinch her chin, forcing her face to turn back, their eyes meeting, and asked seriously, "Why don't I have the right? Didn't you agree to be with me? How come after just a few days, you're not with me anymore?"
Katherine tried to twist her chin away, not wanting to meet his bewitching eyes, but Alex's fingers were too strong. She didn't succeed and even felt a bit of pain from his grip.
She frowned in pain, somewhat angrily, "It hurts."
Hearing Katherine say it hurt, Alex quickly loosened his grip. "Let me see. Did I hurt you?"
Katherine glared at him unhappily, "How many times have you hurt me? You're always so forceful, only caring about your feelings!"
Alex was stunned, then completely let go of her, softly coaxing, "My bad. I just missed you too much. I won't do it again! Don't be mad!"
Katherine kept a stern face, not wanting to talk to him.
