Chapter 327 Hey Pretty Girl, Can We Meet?
Ambrosia let out a sigh. "Boss, it wasn't us. Sunny ran into a glass door and broke it. The doctor said he has a mild concussion and hasn't woken up yet."
Katherine's mouth twitched, speechless.
Sunny only made it this far because his family protected him so well!
No wonder Bernard was so strict with him; Sunny could've easily gotten himself killed if he wasn'tt watched closely.
Katherine said, "Alright, I got it. Ambrosia, keep an eye on him, and don't let him run around when he wakes up. I'll come over soon."
Ambrosia replied, "Don't worry, Boss, I'm on it!"
After hanging up, Katherine turned back to look at Lion, her mood shifting.
If she had really taken off Lion's mask just now, it would've been a bit dishonorable.
Hackers hate having their true identities exposed, and taking advantage of someone when they're unconscious isn't right.
Forget it. It's better to leave some mystery between an idol and their fan.
But she couldn't stay in the hotel for long; she needed to check on Sunny with Ambrosia.
Katherine walked over to Lion and searched for a phone to notify his family but couldn't find one.
After thinking for a moment, she called room service to bring some hangover medicine. After giving it to Lion, she waited by the bed, checked his pulse to make sure everything was stable, and then left the suite.
Katherine went to another floor, booked a new room, took off her gear, showered, and changed into casual clothes.
Then, she got ready to head to the hospital.
While waiting for the elevator, Katherine checked her phone. Ambrosia had sent the hospital address, and she thought, 'Hmm, not too far.'
Ding!
The elevator doors opened, and Bernard and Billy stood inside, one in front of the other.
Seeing Katherine, Bernard's handsome brows furrowed, clearly displeased.
Katherine was also surprised to see Bernard here. She politely smiled and nodded. "Mr. Mitchell, what a coincidence."
Then she walked inside, naturally standing aside and reaching to press the close button.
The door closed, and the three of them were in a confined space, unable to ignore each other's presence.
Katherine didn't feel uncomfortable, busy replying to Ambrosia's messages.
Bernard, however, squinted at her calm profile. "Katherine, what exactly is your purpose?"
Katherine paused, raising an eyebrow in confusion. "What purpose? Mr. Mitchell, what do you mean by that?"
Since leaving the Ayers family banquet, she hadn't gone back to work at the Mitchell Group.
She did this partly because Bernard fired her and partly because she felt it would be very difficult to investigate the Mitchell family's past under Bernard's suspicious watch.
So, she decided not to bother with the Mitchell Group and shifted her focus to the Ayers family, planning to change her strategy and start from there.
But she was in a bad mood and hadn't had the time to visit her grandparents recently to inquire about her mother's past.
Bernard's lips curled into a mocking smile. "Running into me here, can you really say it was an accident?"
Katherine frowned, feeling a bit speechless at the ever-elegant Bernard.
"Mr. Mitchell, you're overthinking it. I just happen to be staying at this hotel too," she said.
"Heppen to?" Bernard sneered. "Crossing a city and coincidentally running into me here, do you think that's believable?"
Would a young, broke girl from a low-income family just out of school normally stay in a five-star hotel? Anyone would find that suspicious.
Katherine twitched her mouth. "Bernard, you don't think I actually have any interest in you, do you?"
Bernard's face darkened with a cold smile. "I don't know if you're interested in me, but you'd better not have any bad intentions, or you'll regret it. That's my advice to you."
Katherine smirked, shrugging. "I have no intentions. If Mr. Mitchell doesn't believe me, think whatever you want!"
At that moment, the elevator doors opened again, but it wasn't the first floor. A dozen people, most carrying laptops, chatting and laughing, seemingly rushing to some event, entered, adding a new energy to the confined space.
Katherine was immediately pushed to the corner, and someone stepped on her foot!
"Excuse me, can someone move their foot? You're stepping on me."
The man, who wasn't part of the group, felt something under his foot and turned impatiently towards Katherine, annoyed.
However, upon seeing Katherine's face, the man was instantly stunned. Then, he quickly moved his foot, smiling broadly. "Sorry, miss. It was too crowded. I didn't notice. Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"
Katherine shook her head lightly. "No."
The man took advantage of the crowd to move closer, whispering, "Are you alone, shawty?"
Katherine glanced at the man's lecherous smile and lowered her head to look at her phone, not wanting to engage.
The man, undeterred, moved closer. "Why aren't you talking, beauty? Which floor and room are you in? We could hang out when we're bored!"
Katherine found him repulsive but had no way to avoid him in the elevator. She coldly replied, "No need, I'm with friends."
The man looked disappointed. "Oh, I see! How about we exchange numbers? We could grab a meal sometime!"
Katherine didn't even look up. "No, thanks."
The man, confident and sleazy, leaned closer. "Come on. We were meant to meet.Let's get to know each other!"
Katherine frowned, moving to the corner to avoid him.
Such men think a girl's reluctance is playing hard to get, very disgusting.
Seeing Katherine ignoring him, the man's fragile ego was bruised, feeling very annoyed.
He moved closer again. "Hey, watch it!"
Shouting, he trapped Katherine against the wall, smiling falsely. "Don't worry, sweetheart, I'll protect you!"
His words sounded noble, but he was trying to take advantage of her.
This proximity really angered Katherine. She frowned, flexing her wrist.
Stay calm! Hitting someone in the elevator could cause a malfunction. Once the doors open, she'd deal with this creep!
"Move."
The elevator doors hadn't opened yet, but a cold, deep voice suddenly spoke.
The man in front of Katherine froze. Who was speaking?
It sounded like a man's voice.
