Chapter 473 Frank Proposed
Alex shot Hilton a cold look but stayed silent, basically admitting it.
Teresa, a bit slow on the uptake, finally got it and nodded. "Yeah, that's true! My Katherine looks way better in person. She doesn't even need makeup to outshine everyone!"
Katherine felt a bit embarrassed by Teresa's high praise.
A few other girls in the living room, possibly Hilton's companions or Teresa's friends, kept staring at Alex, checking out her face and outfit.
Katherine wasn't here to outshine anyone today.
She stood up. "You guys chat. I'll be right back. Teresa, take me to your room."
Teresa, wanting to chat with Katherine, quickly agreed. "Sure, Katherine, come with me!"
Katherine followed Teresa to her room.
Teresa pulled over a pink bean bag chair for Katherine and smiled. "Want something to drink? I'll have someone bring it."
"I'm good, not thirsty." Katherine sat down, shook her head, and looked at Teresa's innocent eyes. "You wanted to talk about Frank, right?"
Teresa's face turned blushed, her long eyelashes drooping. "It's just... he..."
Katherine got anxious. "What did he do to you?"
If Frank ignored her warning and touched Teresa, he'd be in big trouble!
Teresa quickly shook her head. "No, Katherine, don't worry. He didn't do anything! It's just... he proposed to me today, and I haven't answered yet. I wanted to ask you first..."
Katherine almost choked. "What? Propose?"
What was Frank up to? Wasn't he against marriage?
With only one bean bag chair available and not wanting to sit on the bed, Teresa squatted next to Katherine like a well-behaved puppy. "Yeah... he asked me to marry him today..."
Katherine squinted. "So, what do you want to ask me?"
Teresa blinked and smiled shyly. "Katherine, Frank said you're the most important person in his life, like family. He respects your opinion on everything. So, he told me to ask you first. If you agree, then I'll say yes, and we can get married anytime."
Katherine twitched her mouth. Frank was clearly setting her up!
Seeing Katherine not responding, Teresa gently pushed her leg. "Katherine, why aren't you saying anything? You'll agree to our marriage, right?"
Katherine snapped out of it, looked at her love-struck niece, and said bluntly, "No, I won't agree."
Teresa was stunned, frowning in confusion. "Why not?"
She thought Katherine would definitely support her new relationship and sincerely bless her.
Katherine said, "You two aren't a good match. Being with him will hurt you emotionally and physically."
Teresa frowned. "Katherine, why are you so against Frank? He treats you like family, but you see him as a jerk?"
Katherine sighed. "I'm not prejudiced. I know him well! I watched him grow up and know exactly what kind of person he is and how many women he's been with. As a friend and family member, he's important to me too. But he's not marriage material."
Teresa blinked in disbelief. "Has he really been with many women?"
Katherine nodded. "A lot."
Teresa asked, "How many exactly?"
Katherine pinched her brow. "He's 23 now, and since he was 18, he changes girlfriends almost every week. Do the math."
Teresa looked disappointed. "That's a lot..."
Katherine patted her shoulder. "Yeah, so don't take him seriously. It's all just to charm women."
Teresa hung her head, thinking.
When Katherine thought she would give up, Teresa suddenly lifted her head excitedly. "That doesn't matter! I don't care about his past as long as he can settle down and be good to me after we get married!"
Katherine held her forehead. "Do you really think a guy who loves to play around will settle down? Don't be naive."
Teresa pouted, still unconvinced. "Anything is possible! Katherine, Alex changed for you; maybe I can make Frank change for me too!"
Katherine frowned. "Alex changed for me?"
Teresa nodded. "Yes! Alex used to be so cold, but now he's melted for you. He's only gentle with you and doesn't even look at other women!"
Katherine thought about Alex's attitude change. "Alex's change is about temperament, not behavior. Before he met me, he was always well-behaved and never the type to mess around. But Frank is different. He's always loved to play and has a short attention span. That's his nature. A person's nature is hard to change."
Teresa still didn't want to give up. "Hard doesn't mean impossible, right? Katherine, I really like him, and he's good to me too. I don't want to end it before it even starts."
Katherine looked at the stubborn Teresa for a long time and sighed. "My advice is just my perspective. If you really want to try, I can't stop you. But Teresa, remember, a guy can be sweet when he's into you and cold when he's not. I'm also prepared for the possibility that Alex might get bored of me. If you can't handle the ups and downs, it's best not to start. If you think you can take it, then go ahead and try dating. But for marriage, unless you can accept an open relationship, don't choose Frank, or you'll regret it."
