Chapter 701 Scheming Men Are Boring

Sunny was always so full of himself. He'd say stuff like, "Ambrosia, can you take me seriously for once? I get it if you don't want to admit I'm your boyfriend, but at least don't go for Nolan! If you like older guys, I can be that. Just give me some time, I can do it!"

Ambrosia's face went blank for a second, then she looked at him with this calm, almost bored expression.

"Do you really think I have any hopes for someone who can't even finish high school and keeps failing to get into college? You think I expect you to grow up? Or that I want another kid to worry about?"

Sunny's eyes widened, and he started shaking.

He was all about his pride, and hearing this from someone he liked made him step back, feeling totally embarrassed.

Seeing how hurt he looked, Ambrosia felt a pang of guilt.

But the more she felt like this, the more she knew she had to end it.

Sunny was way too serious; if they kept this up, breaking up later would be a nightmare!

She didn't want to be tied down by any relationship right now and didn't want to be responsible for anything outside of work, especially not a guy.

"Sunny, if you really want to grow up, go home and stop acting like a kid, making your family worry about you," Ambrosia added.

Sunny didn't say anything but still clung to her arm, refusing to let go.

Just then, her ex-boyfriend Nolan came out of the private room, looking all concerned and asking, "Ambrosia, do you need help?"

Ambrosia had no plans to get back with Nolan, but to make Sunny give up, she suddenly wrapped her other arm around Nolan's and said, "Nolan, help me get rid of him, he's driving me nuts!"

Nolan was surprised by her move, but he looked down at her hand on his arm, then put his arm around her shoulder and glared at Sunny, "You hear that? She doesn't care about you. Let go, or I'll call the cops."

Seeing them all cozy, Sunny glared at Ambrosia with pure resentment and finally yelled, "I hate you!!!"

He let go, almost collapsing, and ran out.

Watching him leave so quickly, Ambrosia frowned, feeling uneasy, and told a few people to follow him and make sure he got back to the Mitchell mansion safely.

Sunny was Katherine's half-brother, and if anything happened to him, Katherine would be worried sick.

Breaking Dawn Bar was owned by the Crescent Group, and everyone here worked for her.

After helping Ambrosia get rid of the 'harasser,' Nolan thought he did a great job and didn't take his hand off her shoulder, instead holding her tighter. "Ambrosia, you made the right choice. I'm the one who suits you better."

Nolan looked just like he did when Ambrosia had once fallen for him, but now his words made her feel sick.

Ambrosia felt nothing and said coldly, "Thanks for earlier, but we don't need to stay in touch anymore."

Nolan was stunned, "Ambrosia, do you really feel nothing for me anymore?"

Ambrosia answered firmly, without a trace of hesitation. "No."

Nolan wasn't ready to give up, saying, "Fine, even if we can't be lovers, we can still be friends. Why say we shouldn't stay in touch?"

Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, not even trying to spare his feelings.

"Nolan, I've kept in touch with you all these years because you had some value to me. But it seems you've misunderstood, so I think it's best if we cut ties."

Nolan still didn't want to give up. "Ambrosia, your words really hurt! But even so, I still have value to you, right? We can still do business together. Why not stay in touch? Even if you don't care about me, don't you care about the company's losses?"

Ambrosia shot back, "Don't overestimate yourself. The Crescent Group can handle losing the little business we have with you. Sure, I appreciate what you did for me today, but I don't like it. I'm not a little girl who falls for sweet talk anymore!"

Nolan looked pretty hurt, frowned, and tried again, "Ambrosia..."

Ambrosia didn't want to hear another word from him and shouted towards the private room door, "Frank!"

"Here!" Frank responded and came out of the private room.

Ambrosia tossed him the car keys. "You don't drink, go drive! We're leaving!"

Frank caught the keys and grumbled, "You're treating me like a chauffeur!"

Ambrosia ignored him, turned, and walked out, waiting at the door for the car.

Soon, Frank brought the car to the entrance of Breaking Dawn Bar and opened the door for Ambrosia.

As soon as she got in, Frank started teasing her, "Ambrosia, Nolan might not be that important, but he does have a lot of resources from major groups. Are you really not planning to work with him anymore?"

Ambrosia gave him a disdainful look. "Are you interested in him? Should I introduce you two so you can exchange resources?"

Frank laughed, "I'm not gay, okay?"

Ambrosia couldn't be bothered to respond.

She knew Nolan still had value, and she had kept in touch because they hadn't clarified their relationship, allowing for mutual benefit.

But now that he had made it clear he wanted to get back together, if she continued to contact him, it would be easy for Nolan to assume he had a chance.

Even if they stayed in touch, Nolan would definitely use his resources as leverage, which would be a hassle!

It was better to cut ties cleanly!

She had other ways to handle resource issues!

When she was younger, she had foolishly fallen for someone like him. Now, she only felt repulsed by such scheming men, with no trace of affection.

While thinking, Ambrosia glanced out the car window and realized they weren't heading home. She asked Frank, "It's so late, where are we going?"

Frank replied, "We're going to the Mitchell mansion to check on Katherine! I heard Alex went to Markovia today to handle his divorce with Sophia. I guess Katherine must be feeling down, so I'm worried and want to check on her!"

Hearing they were going to the Mitchell mansion, Ambrosia felt a bit annoyed.

Frank saw through her and raised an eyebrow. "What? Are you afraid of seeing Mr. Sunny Mitchell again?"

Ambrosia frowned slightly. "Why would I be afraid of him? I'm just tired and want to go home."

"Then let's go home," Frank suggested.

"Forget it, let's go check on Katherine! I'm worried too."
