Chapter 667 You Have No Right!
The butler glanced at Sunny, then at Katherine to gauge her reaction.
He was worried the visitor might be a friend of Katherine. And if he didn't let her in, he might upset her.
Even though Mr. Bernard Mitchell hadn't said anything directly, everyone in the house had a pretty good idea of who Katherine was.
Katherine was not someone you wanted to cross.
But the butler didn't see any sign from Katherine. She was just eating her lunch, not caring about the visitor at all.
It seemed like the guest wasn't welcome, so he could turn her away without any worries.
The butler nodded and walked off.
A few minutes later, he came back and said, "Ms. Galatea, Mr. Sunny Mitchell, I told Sophia what you said, but she still won't leave. She says she has something important to tell Ms. Galatea."
Just as Katherine looked up to say something, Sunny stood up, clearly annoyed. "What's so important? Let her tell me first! I'll turn her away myself!"
With that, Sunny strutted out.
Seeing Sunny leave, Katherine didn't say anything to the butler and kept eating her lunch.
She really didn't want to see Sophia, so it was better to let Sunny handle it!
Sunny got to the door and saw Sophia standing there with a box of what looked like nutritional supplements.
Sunny crossed his arms. "Hey! What are you doing at my house?"
Seeing Sunny, Sophia forced a smile and said, her voice a bit muffled, "Mr. Mitchell, you're home! I heard Katherine is staying here, so I came to visit her."
Sunny replied indifferently, "Yeah, Katherine's staying with us! She's fine, has everything she needs. No need for your concern!"
Sophia suddenly choked up, "Is it that Katherine doesn't want to see me? I know she doesn't like me, but I have something important to tell her. Mr. Mitchell, I know you're a kind and upright person. Please help me and let me in to see Katherine, just for a few minutes."
Seeing Sophia about to cry, Sunny frowned. "Hey! If you have something to say, just say it! Why are you crying? There's surveillance at my door, it can prove I didn't bully you."
Sophia's voice got even hoarser, tears welling up in her eyes. "Mr. Mitchell, I'm begging you, let me in to see Katherine for a moment, just a few minutes. I'll leave right after I say everything."
Seeing her tears seemed real, Sunny hesitated. "What exactly do you need to tell her?"
Sophia shook her head. "It's a matter between women, not something I can tell you."
Sunny frowned. Seeing her cry so pitifully, he thought letting her in for a bit wouldn't hurt, as long as he kept an eye on her the whole time.
So, Sunny reached out to open the door.
Sophia quickly thanked him, ready to go in.
But just then, a car horn blared, stopping Sunny in his tracks.
Sunny paused and looked out to see Bernard's car!
A black business car pulled up at the Mitchell family's door. The driver got out to open the door, and Bernard stepped out with his long legs.
Sophia stared blankly at Bernard, then forced a bitter smile, her voice hoarse and choked, clearly showing she had been crying. "Hello, Mr. Bernard Mitchell."
Bernard took a couple of steps closer, narrowing his eyes as he scrutinized Sophia. "Who are you?" he asked indifferently.
Sophia paused for a moment. He actually didn't remember her?
Bernard of the Mitchell family rarely attended social events, but they had met before, at several important business banquets. They had even talked up close!
Feeling a bit unhappy about being forgotten, Sophia didn't show it. She smiled bitterly, "Mr. Bernard Mitchell, hello, I'm Alex's friend, Sophia. We've met before, you forgot?"
Upon hearing her introduce herself as Alex's friend, Bernard's indifferent eyes carried a bit more vigilance. "What business do you have at the Mitchell family?"
Sophia said, "I just explained to Mr. Sunny Mitchell. I heard Katherine is staying here, so I came to visit her and brought some nutritional supplements for pregnant women."
As she spoke, she raised the nutritional supplements in her hand.
Bernard didn't even glance at them. The Mitchell family didn't lack such things, and Katherine could have whatever she wanted. "She needs to rest and can't see visitors. You should leave."
With that, Bernard walked right past Sophia.
Sophia didn't give up. She frowned and shouted at Bernard, "Mr. Bernard Mitchell, I know why you won't let me see Katherine!"
Bernard's steps paused. "Since you know, you shouldn't have come."
Sophia said discontentedly, "But don't you think it's unfair to Katherine? She has the right to know everything!"
Bernard said indifferently, "She does have the right to know, but not now."
Sophia clenched her hands into fists. "Aren't you afraid that when she finds out later, she'll blame you for not telling her immediately?"
Bernard turned his head and looked at her, seemingly seeing through her intentions. He sternly warned her, "Even if she blames me, that's my business, not yours!"
Sophia, with a mix of sadness and anger, frowned tightly. "You have no right to deprive Katherine of her right to know immediately! She should go see Alex with the child in her belly and properly mourn him."
Bernard's face showed impatience as he commanded in a deep voice, "Someone, see the guest out! From now on, she is not allowed at the Mitchell family's door!"
"Yes, Mr. Bernard Mitchell!"
Several servants came over and dragged Sophia towards the road.
Watching Sophia being dragged away, Sunny, quite puzzled, looked at Bernard, who had come home early, and asked uneasily, "Bernard, what was Sophia talking about just now? What happened to Alex? What mourning?"
Bernard glared at him coldly. "If I hadn't come back just now, were you planning to let her in?"
Sunny scratched his head. "She was crying. I felt sorry for her, so I thought I'd let her in for a while, but I was planning to watch her the whole time! And I know she's really Alex's friend!"
Bernard gave Sunny a knock on the head. "What does her crying have to do with you?"
