Chapter 379 Lexture Fiona
"I'll send you the restaurant location soon. Just focus on your work for now!"
Alex didn't get a chance to reply before Katherine ended the video call.
On the other end, Alex stayed silent.
Katherine hung up quickly because she saw Fiona had returned and was glaring at her with resentment.
She didn't want Alex distracted by her and Fiona's issues, so she ended the call.
Fiona's intense stare didn't faze Katherine. She smirked slightly. "Why are you back? Didn't you leave with Scarlett?"
Fiona crossed her arms and flopped onto the couch. "None of your business!"
Katherine yawned lazily. "I don't care about you, but stay away from Scarlett. Don't let her lead you astray!"
Fiona had always been charmed by Scarlett and hoped she'd become her sister-in-law.
Hearing Katherine's warning, Fiona thought she was just jealous and rolled her eyes. "Katherine, who are you to lecture me? Scarlett's better than you, and I like being with her. What can you do about it?"
Katherine's expression turned serious. "As your sister-in-law, it's my job to keep you out of trouble, including keeping bad influences away!"
In the three months she'd been with the Melville family, she and Alex had a cooperative relationship. She didn't care about the family's issues. But now, wanting a future with Alex, she felt responsible for guiding his clueless sister.
If she let Fiona hang out with Scarlett, she'd likely get used and cause big problems later.
Fiona rolled her eyes again. "Ridiculous! You think I'll listen to you? Don't flatter yourself!"
Katherine chuckled, stood up, and quickly grabbed Fiona's arm, twisting it behind her back and pressing her onto the couch.
Fiona screamed in pain, shocked. "Katherine, what are you doing? Let go of me!"
Katherine leaned close. "Just showing you if I'm reallt all talk."
Fiona, enduring the pain, glared defiantly. "So what if you're strong? I don't believe you'd dare hit me."
Katherine smiled. "I won't hit you. Hitting someone as clueless as you isn't fun."
She let go and stood up, releasing Fiona.
Fiona stood, shaking her sore arm. "Who are you calling clueless? You're the clueless one!"
Katherine ignored her and turned to the old butler. "Anton, after lunch, give all the staff the afternoon off. Today, Fiona will handle all the housework!"
Anton looked puzzled. "Uh, this..."
Fiona glared at Katherine. "Are you crazy? Who said I'd do all the housework?"
Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Is there a problem? I'm just sticking to your family values! Remember this morning when you barged into my room, saying daughters-in-law must be diligent and capable? I don't have to do chores because Alex said so, but you're different. When you get married, you'll likely marry into a family of equal status. If you're not diligent and capable, and they send you back, wouldn't that bring shame to the Melville family? So, I'm giving you a learning opportunity, starting with your own housework."
Fiona's face turned blue with anger. "Katherine, you're so devious! No matter what you say, I won't do those dirty chores!"
Katherine remained calm. "Not doing them is fine. But this house doesn't need another idle person besides me. When Alex comes home tonight, I'll have him send you to your mother's place."
This morning, Katherine had learned Fiona's biggest weakness: her unwillingness to leave the Melville family and go back to her mother. The reason was unclear, but knowing it was enough.
Fiona's hands shook with anger. "Katherine, you, you, you..."
Katherine smiled. "So, are you going to do it now?"
Fiona didn't want to do chores, but she was really afraid Katherine would have Alex send her away. Because he was currently infatuated with Katherine, he would listen to whatever she said!
Damn Katherine, just wait! One day, she would get her revenge!
Fiona gritted her teeth. "Fine, I'll do it! It's just some housework!"
"Good, then we'll see." Katherine turned to Anton. "Anton, after lunch, I have to go out. You heard Fiona has volunteered to do all the housework. If anyone helps her, it will be like quitting their job with the Melville family. I hope you can set an example and keep an eye on her work."
Anton was awed by Katherine's authority. "Yes!"
Fiona glared at Katherine, wishing she could kill her with her eyes!
Katherine didn't care about Fiona's glare and leisurely walked upstairs to change into clothes for going out.
After lunch, she checked the time; it was still early before Alex got off work. Waiting around was boring, and she couldn't sleep anymore, or she'd feel like a total slob!
She went out to the Crescent Group.
At the President's office, Katherine's arrival excited both Ambrosia and Frank.
Frank teased. "Katherine, you look radiant today. Did you have a wonderful night last night?"
Katherine's cheeks flushed slightly as she flipped through the files in her hand, glancing at him with annoyance. "Don't you have anything better to do?"
