Chapter 694 Frank Is a Bit Two-Faced

Frank raised an eyebrow and smirked, "So you weren't here to see me, huh? My bad, just wishful thinking on my part."

With that, he strolled around her and headed to his office.

Watching him walk away, Teresa felt a mix of frustration and anger.

He was definitely doing it on purpose.

How had she never noticed before that Frank could be such a two-faced jerk?

Given the situation, there wasn't much she could do. She'd just have to wait until Anthony finished work and explain everything to him properly.

Teresa sighed and headed to the company cafeteria to wait for Anthony.

The meeting dragged on for over two hours, and by the time it wrapped up, it was lunchtime.

Employees swarmed into the cafeteria to grab their meals. A few colleagues who knew Teresa said hi and chatted for a bit.

When Teresa spotted Anthony entering the cafeteria, she quickly wrapped up her conversation and stood up to go to him.

Anthony was holding a tray and getting in line for food, completely ignoring her.

Teresa gently tugged at his shirt. "Anthony, let's go out for lunch. My treat."

Anthony shot her a cold glance and said flatly, "No need. I'll eat here. I have work to do later and don't have time to go out with you."

Feeling awkward, Teresa let go of his shirt. "Alright. Then I'll stay and eat with you here, so I won't delay your work."

Anthony ignored her, and after getting his food, he found an empty seat and sat down to eat.

Teresa followed and sat across from him, then she sincerely apologized, "Anthony, I'm sorry. I ignored your feelings yesterday."

Anthony took a big bite of his food and sneered, "You should be having lunch with Mr. Perez now, not with me."

Teresa felt a bit embarrassed and blinked. "It's not what you think. There's really nothing between Frank and me. Yesterday, we were just talking about Katherine since we're both good friends with her. I admit I used to like him, but I've long since moved on. Since I agreed to be with you, I'm serious about our relationship, really."

Hearing Teresa's explanation, Anthony's expression softened as he looked at her. After a moment of silence, he said seriously, "Teresa, if you're really serious about me, then how about we get married?"

Teresa thought she had misheard. "What did you just say?"

Anthony's expression returned to his usual gentle and pleasing demeanor, and he solemnly said, "I said, let's get married. Teresa, only by getting married can I feel secure and not worry about losing you to another man."

Getting married? Was Anthony proposing to her?

In the company cafeteria, eating a work meal, wasn't this a bit too hasty?

Seeing that Teresa hadn't answered for a long time, Anthony frowned again. "You don't want to marry me? Do you think I'm just an ordinary employee and not good enough for you? Teresa, is this what you call being serious about our relationship?"

Teresa quickly shook her head and explained, "No, it's just too sudden. I was shocked by your proposal."

Anthony suddenly grabbed Teresa's hand. "Teresa, I really like you, which is why I care about you being close to Frank. Believe me, I will work hard in the future to give you a good life. Teresa, I love you, marry me."

Teresa paused for a moment, trying to sort out her feelings. It wasn't a racing heart or a sudden rush of emotion, nor was she moved by her boyfriend's declaration of love.

It was just... complicated.

At that moment, colleagues at the next table heard Anthony's proposal and started to cheer. "Marry him!"

Other colleagues turned their curious eyes towards them and joined in the cheer.

Hearing the support, Anthony smiled, then stood up and knelt on one knee, looking deeply into Teresa's eyes. "Teresa, let our colleagues witness our happiness. Marry me, will you?"

Teresa's face showed her embarrassment. "I..."

Suddenly, a clear and elegant male voice interrupted the commotion in the cafeteria. "What's all the excitement about? What's going on here?"

The employees recognized Mr. Perez's voice and immediately quieted down, returning to their meals.

A talkative employee stood up with a smile and explained the situation to his boss, "Mr. Perez, Anthony is proposing to his girlfriend. We're all cheering him on."

"So it's a proposal." Frank smiled as he walked over to Anthony and Teresa's table, his eyes fixing on them with a meaningful look.

Anthony, still kneeling on one knee, felt a bit awkward. "Mr. Perez, I'm proposing to my girlfriend. It's lunchtime, so I hope you don't mind."

Frank smiled and said playfully, "If I said I do mind, what would you do?"

Anthony frowned. "I don't understand what you mind about?"

Frank looked at him. "I mind that your behavior is a disgrace to us men."

Anthony paused for a moment. "I still don't understand."

Frank smiled, "A proposal is a major life event and should be taken seriously. But you chose to do it in the company cafeteria, only got your own meal without even getting one for Teresa. And what's worse is that you didn't even prepare a ring. Isn't that a disgrace to us men?"

Anthony looked embarrassed. "It's just a whim so I didn't prepare in advance. But I'll buy a ring later and make it up to Teresa."

Frank raised an eyebrow. "Really? How many carats are you planning to buy?"

Anthony didn't expect Frank to ask this and thought for a moment before saying, "Mr. Perez, I can't compare to your financial resources and can't afford a big diamond ring, but I'll buy the most expensive one I can afford for Teresa."

Frank smiled, "I understand, it's the thought that counts. To support you, I'll give the whole company a day off today. You can go buy the ring now and come back to continue the proposal. We'll all wait here with Teresa for you, go ahead."

Anthony's expression stiffened, and he said somewhat displeased, "Mr. Perez, this is between Teresa and me. Even though you're my boss, it's not appropriate for you to get involved like this."

Frank pulled out a chair and sat down next to Teresa. "I'm friends with Alex and Katherine, so in terms of seniority, I can be considered a senior to Teresa, not an outsider. You can't just propose without a ring and expect Teresa to marry you. That's not acceptable."
