Chapter 111 Sorry, I'm Allergic

Alex immediately said, "She doesn't need to prove anything to you."

Sophie said incredulously, "Alex, how did you become like this? You weren't like this before! How long has it been, and you're already so bewitched by a woman that you can't tell right from wrong?"

Alex ignored her and continued to walk out with Katherine.

Katherine suddenly broke free from his hand, turned around, and said, "Ms. Jones, if I can prove that the earring isn't mine, how does you plan to apologize to me?"

Sophie was stunned for a moment, then said nonchalantly, "As long as you can prove the earring isn't yours, I'll apologize to you."

Katherine raised an eyebrow and added, "An apology alone won't do. If I successfully prove that the earring isn't mine, you will have to cover all the expenses for today's gathering! After all, you can't falsely accuse someone without paying a price!"

Sophie thought, 'What kind of price is that? So it's just paying the bill! Katherine, this country bumpkin who has never seen the world, probably thinks that treating everyone to a meal is the most severe punishment, right? Little did she know, spending some money to treat others is nothing to a wealthy lady like me!'

Moreover, she didn't believe Katherine could prove anything!

Because it was very difficult for someone to prove they didn't do something, and there needed to be cameras in the dressing room. What could Katherine possibly use as proof?

Sophie confidently nodded in agreement and answered, "Alright, I agree!"

Alex slowly turned around, looking at Katherine with an unreadable expression, a hint of interest in his eyes, waiting to see what she would do. Hilton and the others also stopped to watch the fun.

Katherine walked over to Sophie and extended her hand, saying, "Where's the earring that pricked you? Give it to me!"

Sophie hesitated for a moment, then signaled the stable doctor beside her to hand the earring to Katherine.

Katherine took it, and in front of everyone, she put the earring on her ear.

Sophie looked at her, puzzled, then smiled. "The earring looks good on you. It suits you well."

She didn't genuinely mean to compliment her; she was hinting to everyone that the earring suited Katherine, implying it was Katherine's.

But Katherine calmly reminded her, "Ms. Jones, please take a closer look. Is my ear swollen?"

Sophie looked again in confusion and saw that Katherine's ear was indeed a bit swollen!

Katherine had only worn the earring for a few seconds, and her entire ear was already red and swollen. The part of her earlobe near the earring had turned a purplish-black, looking quite severe.

What... what was going on?

Katherine couldn't bear the itching and pain in her ear any longer and took off the earring. The palm that had touched the earring was also covered in red rashes, starting to turn purple.

"I've been allergic to silver since I was a child. Just touching it causes a reaction, and these earrings are usually made of pure silver, so they can't possibly be mine," she explained.

As Katherine spoke, she handed the earring back to the stable doctor and scratched her already red and swollen palm.

Sophie hadn't expected this at all, and her expression froze. "Well..."

Katherine continued, "Ms. Jones, now, can you apologize to me?"

At this point, Sophie's face was extremely embarrassed, and she couldn't say anything. If she didn't apologize, she would seem very unreasonable.

So, Sophie smiled gently again and said kindly, "Katherine, I'm really sorry, I misunderstood you! If you have such an allergy, why didn't you say so earlier? If you had mentioned it from the start, we wouldn't have had this misunderstanding!"

Katherine raised an eyebrow and said, "Ms. Jones, a simple misunderstanding from you almost made me the scapegoat. And now you're blaming me for not proving my innocence sooner?"

Sophie smiled stiffly and then explained, "Uh... Katherine, that's not what I meant."

Katherine smiled. "Ms. Jones, I don't care what you mean. Just remember, you have to cover all our expenses today!"

No matter how unhappy Sophie was inside, she could only nod politely. "Yes, Katherine, don't worry. It was my fault, and I'll accept the punishment. I'll treat everyone today as my apology to you."

Katherine was about to say something more when she was suddenly turned around. Alex's face appeared from the side, startling her.

The man leaned in, checking her ear, and then grabbed her hand to look at her swollen palm. With a frown, he turned to the stable doctor standing nearby and said coldly, "Where's the allergy medicine?"

The stable doctor shivered and replied, "Uh... Mr. Melville, I didn't bring any allergy medicine in my kit. I'll go get it right away!"

"Why are you still standing here?" the man said impatiently.

"Yes, I'm going now!" The stable doctor hurriedly ran out with his kit.

Then, Alex picked Katherine up horizontally, ignoring her protests, and carried her out.

Teresa snapped out of it and immediately chased after them. "Alex, wait for me!"

At this point, Hilton flashed a wicked grin and nudged Isaac's arm. "Isaac, do you think Alex has fallen in love?"

Isaac's face, as cold as millennium ice, remained impassive. "Are you asking me?"

Hilton clicked his tongue. "You're the one to inquire about such matters, huh? Back in the day, you were completely at the mercy of a woman!"

As if touched on a nerve, Issac's already cold face turned even darker. "Shut up!"

Then, Issac walked out.

Hilton shrugged and remarked, "Jonathan, look, he's pissed off!"

Jonathan chuckled, "You're just trying to provoke him!"

Only Sunny stayed with Sophie in the dressing room.

"Sophie, let me help you back to your room to rest," Sunny suggested.

Sophie, looking frustrated, said, "Sunny, it seems we underestimated her! That

Katherine is really something; her tactics are much more formidable than we thought!"

Sunny frowned, a bit annoyed, and replied, "Sophie, don't you believe Katherine? She had such a severe allergic reaction to the earring!"

Sophie sighed sarcastically and snapped, "Who knows how she did it! Maybe she used some trick to clear her name. A country girl like her might know all sorts of shady things!"

Sunny disagreed and said, "Sophie, I think you're overthinking it. Katherine wouldn't intentionally harm you; she's not that kind of person."

Sophie was stunned and asked, "Sunny, what did you say?"

Sunny had always disliked Katherine, even more than Sophie did. How could Sunny be defending Katherine now?

Sunny's eyes were firm and sincere. "Katherine is my friend now, and I choose to believe her."

Sophie was shocked and questioned, "Friend? Sunny, when did you two become friends? How come I didn't know?"
