Chapter 857 He Did It
Sophia smiled. "Alright, I'll just whip up something you two usually love. I'll call you when it's ready!"
At this point, there was no further response from the room. Sophia waited for a while, then turned around and went to the kitchen, feeling a bit dejected.
Inside the room, Trevor's cold gaze only softened after he heard Sophia's footsteps fade away. He looked at Julian, whose eyes were swollen from crying.
"Why are you crying like this? Didn't I tell you I'd be back soon?"
Trevor's voice was stern, but his actions were gentle as he softly rubbed Julian's swollen eyes.
Julian pouted, looking aggrieved, and said, "Dad, I don't like it here. I want to go find Katherine. I..."
Before Julian could finish his sentence, Trevor placed a finger on his lips, signaling him not to mention Katherine here, as there might be eavesdroppers.
Julian understood Trevor's meaning, sniffled, and obediently stopped talking.
Trevor pulled Julian into his arms, comforting him in a low voice, "I know you miss her. I miss her too. Soon, we will be reunited."
Julian looked up in surprise and whispered, "Really, Dad? Can we live with Katherine, and George, Edith, and Charles in the future?"
Trevor nodded affirmatively to Julian, "Yes, and we will never be separated again."
Julian believed Trevor's words, feeling a sense of security and anticipation. He rubbed his eyes, "Then I'll be good and listen to you, Dad, and wait until we see Mommy again."
He didn't dare mention Katherine again because Trevor had just warned him not to talk about her here.
Trevor placed his large hand on Julian's head and gently rubbed it, "Alright, go help Dad close the curtains. I'm a bit tired and want to take a nap."
"Okay!" Julian responded and ran towards the floor-to-ceiling window. But in his haste, he slipped and fell, losing control and heading straight for the sharp-edged crystal cabinet.
Just when Julian thought he was going to be seriously injured, someone caught him around the waist from behind, lifting him off the ground!
Relieved from the danger, Julian let out a breath, still shaken. He wondered who could have caught him in a room where only he and Trevor were present.
He turned his head and saw Trevor's face!
"Dad?" Julian was startled and quickly looked down at Trevor's legs to confirm.
He wasn't mistaken; Trevor was standing! Trevor had really stood up.
Just as he was about to shout excitedly, Trevor's large hand covered his mouth. In a serious, low voice, he said, "You must not tell anyone about this. They can't know."
By "they," Trevor was undoubtedly referring to Sophia and Brent.
Julian understood and nodded vigorously to show he got it.
Only then did Trevor bend down, place him safely on the ground, and sit back in his wheelchair.
Even Trevor himself hadn't fully processed the fact that he could stand again.
Back at the hospital, when Katherine had teased him, he had noticed that his legs inexplicably gained strength, and he could move them.
He didn't know the reason, but perhaps the medication Rolf had given him had counteracted the drugs Sophia had been giving him over the years, which had caused his leg muscles to atrophy.
Trevor could stand, but due to years of sitting, his legs were still weak and needed time to regain their strength through exercise.
Meanwhile, Katherine was sitting in Bernard's car, leaning against the window, lost in thought.
Bernard glanced at Katherine, "How's Alex doing?"
Katherine replied wearily, "He's fine, nothing serious."
Bernard nodded, "When do you plan to take action?"
Katherine squinted her eyes, "Soon!"
Sunny had dragged Ambrosia back to Edwin's hospital room. Originally, Ambrosia was supposed to leave the hospital with Katherine, but Sunny had shamelessly pestered her in the hospital lobby.
Not wanting to make a scene, she reluctantly followed him back.
It was quite awkward.
Edwin was already back in his hospital bed. Seeing the two of them return together, he quickly sat up and smiled at his future daughter-in-law.
Ambrosia had never done anything like this before, but since she had followed Sunny back, she had to come up with a reasonable explanation for Edwin, "Mr. Edwin Mitchell, I heard you're very interested in Katherine's affairs. Sunny said you were in a bad mood today and only wanted to hear about Katherine. I grew up with Katherine, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Maybe I can help ease your worries."
Ambrosia thought to herself, 'Katherine, I'm sorry. I'm not trying to make you a topic of conversation; it's just too awkward right now.'
Edwin's eyes, which were filled with illness due to excessive blood loss, lit up, "Oh? You and Katherine are friends?"
Ambrosia nodded slightly, "Yes."
Edwin quickly looked up and instructed Sunny, "Sunny, aren't you going to get a chair for your girlfriend?"
Sunny wanted to, as he didn't want his future wife to stand either!
But there were no chairs in the room!
He looked around and finally decided to move the sofa from the high-end hospital room over, "Ambrosia, sit here! This way, I can sit with you!"
Ambrosia looked at the large double sofa that had been pushed to the bedside, twitched her mouth, and had no choice but to sit down.
As soon as she sat down, Sunny immediately sat close to her, taking the opportunity to wrap his arm around her waist.
Ambrosia wasn't a conservative person, but in front of Edwin, she felt a bit uncomfortable and slapped Sunny's hand away with a grimace!
Sunny yelped in pain but shamelessly wrapped his arm around her again, "Ambrosia, don't be shy. My dad is very open-minded! He used to be wilder than any of us!"
Edwin thought, 'What kind of son talks about his father like this?'
Neither of them paid any more attention to Sunny. Edwin asked Ambrosia politely and warmly, "Ambrosia, tell me, how did you and Katherine meet? Did Katherine suffer a lot when she was young?"
Recalling the hardships Katherine had endured as a child, even Ambrosia couldn't help but frown. She looked at Katherine's irresponsible biological father, Edwin, with a hint of hostility and nodded, "Yes, she suffered a lot when she was young, Mr. Edwin Mitchell. You probably can't even imagine it."
