Chapter 363 Regret Not Agreeing to the Blind Date?

Katherine confidently grabbed Alex's hand and said, "Sir, this is my boyfriend. You know him, so no need for details."

Vincent looked surprised. "Wait, Alex is your boyfriend? Isn't he your uncle?"

Alex was happy at first but got annoyed when Vincent called him an uncle.

Vincent was always dramatic and emotional.

Katherine, feeling a bit awkward, forced a smile. "He may seem older, but we're not related. He's really my boyfriend."

Vincent shook his head. "Katherine, you're such a good girl. How did you end up with such a boring guy?"

Bernard, who had been in a bad mood, couldn't help but laugh.

Alex's face darkened, and he shot a glare at the amused Bernard.

Vincent, trying to be helpful, said, "Katherine, it's not too late. Break up with him before you get married. I can introduce you to a handsome young man!"

Alex had enough. He held Katherine's hand tightly and said, "Sorry, we're already married. This is my wife, Katherine Melville."

Vincent frowned. He knew Alex from the Melville family but ignored him because of their family feud.

Wasn't Alex always involved with Scarlett? How did he end up with Katherine?

Alex stood up with Katherine. "It's late. We won't disturb you any longer. Goodbye."

He emphasized, "as a couple," to make his point clear.

Alex put his arm around Katherine and led her away.

Vincent, feeling angry, shouted, "Katherine, the young man from the Smith family I mentioned is open-minded. He wouldn't mind if you got divorced. I can still set you two up!"

Alex paused, his coldness felt like icy daggers piercing everyone.

Bernard, feeling helpless, said, "Grandpa, what are you doing? You usually don't meddle in others' business!"

Vincent sat down, frustrated. "What do you mean meddling? I visited the Smith family today. Mr. Smith is not doing well; he doesn't have much time left. He dreams of seeing his grandson married, but Aron hasn't found the right girl yet. It's hard to find good girls these days! Katherine is a good, genuine person. I thought if I introduced her to Aron, it would fulfill my old friend's dying wish!"

Bernard stayed quiet for a bit, understanding his grandpa's feelings for the Smith family but puzzled by his high opinion of Katherine.

"Grandpa, why do you think Katherine is a good and genuine person?"

Vincent shot him a stern look. "I've seen a lot in my years. I can tell if a girl has good character. And you question Katherine's character? Do you know why I didn't introduce her to you? Because you're not good enough for her!"

Bernard raised an eyebrow. "Why am I not good enough for her?"

Vincent looked at him with disdain. "I'm your grandfather; I know what kind of person you are. You look decent but are actually a scoundrel. You wouldn't treat a good girl well; you'd just let her down! Introducing a good girl to you would be a sin! Smith's grandson is a good boy, just too into music and clueless about relationships. If Katherine were with him, she'd be happy for life! It's a pity she got tricked by that brat, Alex!"

Bernard smirked and sipped his tea, his smile not reaching his eyes. He agreed with his grandpa's disdain for Alex, but his grandpa's low opinion of him stung.

What kind of grandpa belittles his grandson like this?

His grandpa's insistence on introducing a girl to Aron brought back memories. The Smith and Mitchell families had a long-standing relationship, even an arranged marriage. The Smith grandson and the Mitchell granddaughter were betrothed since childhood. But the granddaughter wasn't Scarlett; it was his long-lost sister, Laura. Laura's disappearance put the marriage on hold. Later, they considered Scarlett for the engagement, but she was madly in love with Alex. This was no secret, and they were too embarrassed to bring up the engagement.

Vincent felt guilty towards the Smith family because of the unfulfilled marriage. With Mr. Smith's serious illness, Vincent wanted to introduce a good girl to Aron so Mr. Smith could have peace of mind. Vincent was picky and even treated Scarlett indifferently, thinking she wasn't good enough. But Katherine could meet Grandpa's standards, and he even wanted to introduce her to the Smith family? Nonetheless, it was quite satisfying to see Alex's face turn red with anger.

Meanwhile, in a black car outside the Mitchell estate.

"What's up? Regretting it?" Alex twisted open a bottle of water and handed it to Katherine.

Katherine took the water, puzzled. "Hmm, regret what?"

He opened a bottle for himself and took a couple of sips, looking sullen. "Didn't you want to go on a blind date with that young guy who sings and dances? Are you regretting not accepting his introduction?"
