Chapter 746 Who Did She Come With?
Until he saw Katherine's figure disappear into her private room, Trevor finally withdrew his gaze.
Trevor looked down at the child beside him who looked exactly like Julian, and the kid had a terrified expression, as if he was afraid of being found by that woman just now.
Trevor gently patted his head with his large hand, reminding him, "Let's go, we're going in."
George snapped out of it and followed Trevor into the private room.
Katherine had just left not long ago, and Trevor brought George in, which made Sophia a bit worried. Did he see Katherine?
"Trevor, why did you and Julian take so long?"
The smile on Sophia's face seemed a bit forced.
Trevor's expression was indifferent, as usual, "Julian had a bit of a stomachache. Who came just now?"
He asked naturally, as if it was a question about a stranger, showing no signs of anything unusual.
"Don't know, just a woman who accidentally walked into the wrong room!" Sophia answered as naturally as she could, closely watching Trevor's expression, her gaze cautious and probing.
He really saw Katherine.
But it seemed like he didn't have any special feelings towards Katherine, just as usual.
After Trevor responded, he didn't say anything more, appearing uninterested in everything.
Sophia was still uneasy and tentatively asked, "Trevor, did you see that woman? Do you think she's pretty? Did she see you too?"
Trevor looked uninterested, "No. I just saw a woman's back as she was leaving. Pretty? How would I know?"
Sophia didn't catch any signs of abnormality on Trevor's face and felt slightly relieved.
She thought that after Katherine left, she walked in the opposite direction of Trevor, so she probably didn't see Trevor either.
Otherwise, with Katherine's personality, she would have stopped Trevor on the spot and asked if he was Alex.
The more she thought about it, the more scared she became. She came back this time just to handle domestic assets quickly and efficiently, hoping not to get into any trouble again!
Once the auction was over, Katherine would still come looking for trouble. It wouldn't be good if Katherine saw Trevor then!
Sophia felt it was not suitable to stay here any longer, so she smiled and said, "Trevor, the land has been successfully auctioned off at a price my dad is satisfied with! There's nothing more to do here; staying longer is meaningless. Let's go!"
Trevor had no objections and nodded expressionlessly.
Sophia prepared to leave, bending down to pick up George. "Julian, let's go, we're going back to the hotel!"
Unexpectedly, she was rejected by the kid and pushed away!
George didn't like Sophia and didn't want her to hold him!
"I can walk by myself, no need to carry me!"
Sophia frowned. 'What's wrong with Julian? Why is he so moody? Wasn't he just admitting his mistake and wanting to go out and apologize? Now he's acting all untouchable again! Forget it, now is not the time to care about these things, we need to leave quickly before Katherine finds out.'
"Alright! you walk by yourself, I'll push your dad!" Sophia turned to Trevor to help push his wheelchair.
Trevor's face showed no particular expression. He neither refused nor welcomed Sophia's help, remaining as neutral as ever.
Katherine returned to the private room and sat down, her brows furrowed in deep thought, clearly contemplating something.
Bernard saw Katherine like this and asked gently, "What's wrong? Did you find out who was across from us?"
Katherine nodded and told him truthfully, "It was Sophia."
Upon hearing it was Sophia, Bernard's expression froze slightly, his worried gaze falling on Katherine's face, and he also understood why the land price was driven so high.
He said coldly, "Her behavior is truly despicable!"
Katherine sneered, "Despicable? More like insatiable! She raised the price more than tenfold!"
Bernard agreed with Katherine's assessment, his eyes darkening, "Don't worry, I'll explain the situation to the auction house's manager later. I'll make sure to get that land for you at market value."
Katherine didn't have proof that Cole was Sophia's father, Brent, because Cole had become Brent, erasing his past traces.
But Bernard surely knew how to prove it.
Katherine believed him on this.
Forty minutes later, the auction ended.
Katherine originally wanted to go with Bernard to find the auction house's manager, but Bernard didn't agree to let her go.
Because the conversation would definitely take some time. If she went too, that would leave only Billy to watch the kids.
It wasn't safe for Billy to watch three kids alone.
Earlier, when he took two kids to the bathroom alone, he couldn't manage them and lost one.
If he had to watch three alone, any mishap would be irreparable.
Katherine wasn't too comfortable leaving the kids, so she agreed not to go.
Bernard told her to take the kids to the car and wait for him.
Katherine and Billy took the three kids to the parking lot and got in the car, waiting for Bernard.
About twenty minutes later, Bernard came to the parking lot to find them!
As soon as Bernard got in the car, Katherine asked, "How did it go? Did the auction house believe you?"
Bernard looked at Katherine and said, "I explained the situation, but since Sophia left early, we couldn't confront her. The auction house's manager said they would verify the situation and get back to me soon. As for the land, it's definitely ours, but the price is still up for negotiation."
Katherine nodded, "Then we'll wait for the auction house's response."
Bernard's expression showed a deep worry as he looked at Katherine.
"When you went to the room across to find Sophia, did you see anyone else?" he asked.
Katherine was taken aback by the question, "Anyone else? No! When I went in, I only saw Sophia."
Bernard was silent for a moment, "Alright, never mind."
Then he turned his head and instructed the driver in front, "Take Katherine back to the Melville Manor first."
"Yes!"
Katherine felt that Bernard's question just now was strange.
"Mr. Mitchell, why did you ask if I saw anyone else in Sophia's room? Did she have company? Who? Her father?"
Bernard shook his head, "It's nothing, I was just wondering if she came alone or if her father came with her."
