Chapter 821 Recognized Her at a Glance

Linda scoffed indifferently, "It's not like I care. I want to rely on myself in the future. If I earn more, I'll spend more; if I earn less, I'll spend less!"

Sophia glanced at Linda with a mix of praise and subtle sarcasm, "Linda, you really have ambition! You should definitely hone your painting skills and pursue your dreams to the fullest. If you ever face difficulties, like not being able to sell your paintings, remember to come to me. I'll definitely help you."

Linda glared at Sophia. She might be young, but she wasn't stupid. Sophia's words were clearly a mockery, implying that Linda wouldn't be able to make a living from her art and would have to come begging to her.

Linda thought to herself that she'd rather starve than ask for Sophia's help!

At that moment, the waiter came over and served a few appetizers.

Brent cleared his throat and said, "Alright, the food is here. Let's eat!"

Linda didn't want to argue with Sophia at the table and make things awkward for Nora, so she picked up her fork and focused on eating.

Meanwhile, George was looking around, his ears perked up. He thought he might have heard Katherine's voice.

"Dad, I need to go to the bathroom," George said to Trevor.

Trevor, who hadn't started eating yet, heard George and began to maneuver his wheelchair to accompany him.

Seeing Trevor's difficulty, Linda put down her fork and volunteered, "Trevor, I'll take Julian to the bathroom. I need to go too!"

Trevor was hesitant. Linda was only ten years old, and she couldn't protect Julian.

Sensing Trevor's concern, Linda added, "I just want to wash my hands, so I'll wait for Julian outside the men's room. Trevor, you don't need to move."

Sophia also didn't want Trevor, who was sick today, to move around in his wheelchair, "Trevor, the bathroom is right there. You can see it from here! And there aren't many people dining today, so nothing will happen. Let Linda take Julian. You don't need to trouble yourself."

Trevor looked up to confirm the bathroom's location. Indeed, he could see the door from where he was. After considering it, he nodded, "Alright, Linda, please keep an eye on him and don't let him run around."

Linda confidently thumped her chest and said, "Don't worry, Trevor!"

Then, Linda led George to the bathroom under Trevor's watchful eye.

The handwashing area was unisex. Linda stood by the sink. "Go ahead and use the bathroom. I'll wait for you here!"

George didn't rush into the bathroom but looked back outside.

Seeing his reaction, Linda knew she was right, "Don't even think about sneaking away. I promised your dad I'd keep an eye on you!"

George asked, "How did you know I wanted to sneak away?"

Linda raised her chin, "You've been looking around, obviously checking the place out to see if you can escape! Am I right?"

George shook his head, "Auntie Linda, you're only half right."

Linda frowned in surprise, "What do you mean? What's the other half?"

George cautiously looked around before saying, "I don't want to run away. I just want to go upstairs and check something. I'll come back soon!"

Linda was even more confused, "What do you want to check upstairs?"

George said, "You know I'm not Julian! I think I heard my mom's voice from upstairs, so I want to go up and see if she's here."

Linda was shocked, "Your mom is here too?"

George raised a finger to his lips, signaling her to keep quiet, "I'm not sure, so I want to check. Auntie Linda, can you help me? Let me go upstairs for a quick look. I'll be right back!"

Linda thought for a moment and firmly said, "No way!"

George frowned, disappointed, "Why not?"

"Because I promised your dad I'd keep an eye on you and not let you run around alone!"

"I won't run around. I'll just take a quick look upstairs. If my mom isn't there, I'll come right back!"

"What if your mom is there? Are you going to go home with her? How will I explain that to your dad?"

"If I see my mom, I won't go home with her right away. Is that okay?"

Linda firmly said, "Nope! I always keep my word. Since I promised your dad, I have to keep an eye on you!"

George got angry, "I thought you were different from Sophia's family. But you're just like them, not understanding at all. I won't call you Auntie Linda anymore!"

Linda laughed at his angry expression, "I thought you could threaten me with something serious. Not calling me Auntie Linda? Fine, don't call me that!"

George glared at her, "Fine, you're tough! I won't use the bathroom. Since I can't sneak away, I'll go back to my dad!"

Linda pinched his cheek, "Wait!"

George slapped her hand away, annoyed, "What? Since you won't help me, don't touch me! We're not even close!"

Linda didn't give up and pinched him again, "You're so cute but have such a big temper! I just won't let you run around alone. I didn't say I wouldn't help you!"

George was taken aback, looking at her skeptically, "You won't let me find my mom. How can you help me?"

Linda raised an eyebrow, "I won't let you go, but I can go upstairs and check if your mom is there!"

George frowned, "You? You don't even know my mom. How can you tell if she's there?"

Linda didn't know his mom, but she had a strong feeling she could recognize her.

"I don't know your mom, but I know what you look like. If I see a woman who looks like you, I'll know it's her."

George was skeptical, "I'm a boy, and my mom is a woman. We can't look that much alike!"

Linda confidently waved her hand, "You don't get it! We girls have a strong intuition. If your mom is upstairs, I'll definitely recognize her!"
