Chapter 713 Her Water Broke
Teresa exclaimed in surprise and delight, "Wow! I often see those videos online where the baby moves a lot, but I didn't expect it to feel this intense in real life! Katherine, with your baby being so active, does it make you uncomfortable?"
Katherine's eyes softened with a maternal glow as she gently stroked her belly, smiling and saying, "It's okay! But this baby inside me is probably just like Alex, always full of energy and causing a ruckus!"
Teresa looked at Katherine, who was radiating happiness without even realizing it, and dreamily rested her chin on her hand. "That's wonderful! Katherine, I think you and Alex will be together forever, growing old together, and being very, very happy! I'm so envious; I want a relationship like yours!"
Katherine raised an eyebrow at her. "Don't you have a boyfriend? You'll be a mother soon."
At the mention of Anthony, Teresa's face darkened, "Katherine, actually, I broke up with him."
Katherine wasn't surprised and asked, "Why did you break up?"
Teresa sighed in frustration. "Well, he proposed to me, and I got scared, so I didn't accept."
Katherine squinted thoughtfully, "Are you afraid of getting married?"
Teresa furrowed her brows, looking a bit confused, "I'm not afraid of marriage. In fact, I've always looked forward to it and often fantasized about my wedding! Katherine, you know, I almost got married once before, but I found out he was a playboy at the wedding, so I called it off. Before that, I was really looking forward to the wedding and marriage. But for some reason, when Anthony proposed, I just felt very resistant."
Katherine saw through it all. "It's simple, because you don't love him."
Teresa seemed to be struck by the truth, her expression froze.
Yes, she really didn't.
She just thought Anthony was nice, and being with him, she didn't have to worry about being deceived.
Because she had bad luck with men and always fell for playboys, she felt tired and thought she should just be with an ordinary guy!
But when it came to actually getting married, she couldn't accept spending her life with a man she didn't love.
Katherine saw Teresa's confused and troubled look and was about to give her some advice when Charles's voice interrupted! "Kate, you need to go to the bathroom; you can't pee your pants!"
Katherine looked at Charles in surprise and saw him staring at her pants with wide eyes. She followed his gaze and looked down!
Only then did she realize that her lower body was wet, and there was a water stain on the floor.
Teresa also noticed and panicked. "Katherine, what's happening? Are you okay?"
Katherine's brow furrowed. "Teresa, my water broke! Don't panic, stay calm, and quickly call an ambulance!"
"I'll call 911 right now!" Teresa frantically took out her phone, dialed 911.
"Katherine, the ambulance is on its way and will be here in ten minutes! How are you feeling? Can you hold on?" Teresa asked.
Charles, not understanding the situation, started crying in fear, clutching Katherine's hand.
Katherine, struggling with contractions, breathed unsteadily. She answered Teresa while comforting Charles, but she didn't forget to glance at the clock on the wall.
The due date was early; she was going into labor!
Alex's plane should have landed by now, right?
Alex had promised to be with her in the delivery room.
The servants heard the commotion and quickly gathered around, some helping and others notifying Bernard.
In the midst of the chaos, Katherine lost consciousness, the last thing she heard was the sound of the approaching ambulance.
At that moment, Bernard had just walked out of the school building with Sunny, having finalized the initial arrangements for studying abroad with the school.
Sunny wouldn't need to come back to school anymore; after this period, he would go straight abroad.
They reached the car, and Bernard got in first.
Sunny stood by the car door, hesitating to get in. His expression was complex as he cautiously asked, "Bernard, this might be my last time coming to school. Although I didn't enjoy studying much before, I've spent a lot of time here, repeating grades and all. I've grown attached to this place and my classmates. Can I take a walk around the campus and say a proper goodbye to everyone?"
Bernard squinted at him. "Don't wander off. Come home early."
Sunny nodded. "Okay!"
Then, Billy closed the car door and walked around to the front passenger seat.
The car drove out of the school under Sunny's watchful eyes.
Just a few hundred meters away from the campus, Bernard's phone rang. Seeing it was a call from the home landline, he immediately answered, thinking it was related to Katherine.
Hearing the servant's report on the phone, Bernard's expression changed, he urgently hung up and commanded, "Turn around! Go to the hospital!"
Billy, not knowing what had happened, reminded, "Mr. Mitchell, there's an important meeting at the company this morning."
Bernard, tense and frowning, said coldly, "Cancel it! Katherine is going into labor, I must go to the hospital!"
Hearing that Katherine was going into labor, Billy understood the gravity of the situation and didn't dare to say more.
Bernard remembered something and instructed Billy, "Try to contact Alex, see if he's back yet. Katherine probably needs him right now!"
Billy replied, "Yes, Mr. Mitchell!"
Sunny had no idea what was happening at home.
He wandered around the school alone, looking at the campus where he had spent many years. The usually arrogant Sunny felt a sense of self-mockery.
No wonder Ambrosia looked down on him; he hadn't left this campus for years!
And she was already a successful career woman, so accomplished and independent.
She didn't lack admirers, so why would she choose him, a failure who couldn't even get into college, among so many suitors?
Even though he knew Ambrosia probably didn't want to see him again, he still pathetically wanted to find her.
He was about to go abroad, and once he left, he wouldn't be back for at least three years. He wanted to see her one last time and never bother her again!
After walking around the campus, Sunny didn't say goodbye to his classmates. Instead, he took a cab to see the person he most wanted to see at that moment.
