Chapter 832 Go Home With Mommy

Nora promised Katherine that she wouldn't tell Brent and Sophia about what she saw in the bathroom, and then she prepared to take Linda and the real Julian back to their seats.

As Nora turned with Linda and Julian, she exchanged a glance with Katherine and was struck by a startlingly familiar feeling upon seeing her profile.

She suddenly stopped and stared for a moment longer!

Katherine felt a bit strange under Nora's gaze, "What's wrong? Is there something on my face?"

Nora snapped out of it and shook her head apologetically, "No, nothing."

With that, she finally led Linda and Julian out of the bathroom.

Nora's look just now made Katherine feel a bit uneasy. This should be their first real meeting, so why did Nora look at her as if she were seeing someone familiar? It was odd.

Watching Nora, Linda, and Julian leave the bathroom, George affectionately hugged Katherine's leg, "Mommy, I can finally go home with you!"

Katherine looked down at George and pinched his little nose, "Do you really want to go home with me? You seemed quite happy with Trevor these days."

George said, "Mommy, I'm not lying. I do like being with Dad, but it's really annoying that Sophia monitors him every day."

Katherine replied, "So, because you find Sophia annoying, you want to come home with me? If Sophia weren't annoying, would you be willing to stay with Trevor and not want Mommy anymore?"

George pouted and shook his head vigorously, "No way! Mommy is the most important! I just think that if Sophia weren't around, you could be with Dad, and then I could be with you and bring Dad home too. It would be perfect!"

Katherine knocked on George's head disdainfully, "You're just daydreaming!"

George hugged her, "Mommy, stop pretending. I know you like Dad too. You won't need me to say anything; you'll bring Trevor home yourself! Right?"

Katherine thought to herself, 'George is quite perceptive!'

She couldn't take George out just yet; the bathroom door was too close to Sophia's table. If they went out rashly, they might be seen.

It was best to wait until Brent and his group finished their meal and left before taking George out.

Nora returned to the table with Linda and Julian and sat down.

Sophia's gaze swept over Julian first, confirming nothing was amiss, then turned to Linda, whose eyes were red.

It looked like Linda had been crying. She must have been scolded by Nora! Serves her right!

With a sympathetic smile, Sophia said, "What's wrong, Linda? Did Nora teach you a lesson? Do you realize what you did wrong?"

Linda had intended to follow Nora's advice to speak less and avoid arguing with Sophia.

But Sophia provoked her, making her really angry!

She glared at Sophia, "None of your business!"

Sophia's expression stiffened, and she turned to Nora, "Is this the result of your education? It seems you spoil her too much, and she doesn't respect you or listen to you! I think it's necessary for Dad to discipline Linda properly!"

Nora looked at Sophia. She had always wanted to treat Sophia as her own daughter, hoping to win her over.

However, over the years, it had no effect. Sophia never respected her and only pretended to be polite in front of Brent.

Nora could tolerate Sophia's attitude towards her, but Sophia's constant targeting of Linda was unacceptable.

She had tried to get Sophia and Linda to get along and always taught Linda to respect Sophia.

Now, she felt it was no longer necessary!

Since they couldn't get along, so be it. She had wronged Linda earlier and couldn't bear to see her daughter suffer anymore!

"Sophia, what do you mean by that? Do you want Brent to hit Linda to satisfy you?"

Sophia was taken aback by Nora's sudden change in attitude and then said innocently, "Nora, I didn't mean that! I just thought Dad might be more effective in educating Linda since he still has some authority over her. I didn't say he should hit her."

Seeing that Nora was on her side, Linda gained confidence and retorted, "You just want Dad to hit me to be satisfied. Stop pretending! From the beginning, you've been trying to drive a wedge between us and Dad! But you're wrong. I respect Mom very much, and I'll listen to her no matter what she says! And I'm not afraid of Dad at all; it won't work even if you tell him!"

Sophia feigned helplessness and concern, "Linda, why do you think so badly of me? You're so young, who taught you to think this way about others?"

Her implication was clear: someone was teaching Linda to think poorly of her, and it was undoubtedly Nora.

Nora could also hear her meaning and lost her usual patience, "Sophia, because I care about your father Brent, I've always tried to treat you like my own daughter, but you've never accepted me. I don't blame you for that; after all, I can never replace your biological mother in your heart."

"I respect you, and if we can't be mother and daughter, I hope we can be friends and get along. But you don't seem to want to get along with me and Linda, always hinting to Brent that we're bad. I really don't know what we've done to wrong you."

"I'm your stepmother, but I didn't interfere in your parents' marriage. I met and started dating Brent after your mother passed away. Linda's existence doesn't affect your inheritance of Brent's property. Why do you hate me and Linda so much?"
