Chapter 103 She Wasn't Her Father's Biological Daughter
Stella walked over and looked at Sherry's heavily made-up face, then slapped her hard. "You shameless little tramp. What were you trying to do by pulling Kenny just now?" she shouted.
Sherry, usually so arrogant and high-handed, didn't dare to act up this time. She covered her face guiltily, then said, "I... I..."
Some passersby heard the commotion and came over to watch the drama unfold.
Kenny, afraid of being recognized and making the news, quickly stepped forward to pull Stella away. He then said sweetly, "This is a hospital. There are people everywhere! Honey, let's talk about this at home!"
Stella shook him off, then snapped. "You don't care about losing face while fooling around outside! Why should I care?"
"Honey, I'm begging you," he then said.
"Kenny, don't forget that we had a prenuptial agreement when we got married! The agreement clearly states that if I catch you cheating, you have to leave with nothing! Now how do you explain that you've even got a daughter?" Stella stated.
Kenny hurriedly waved his hands to explain, "Honey, I didn't cheat! She's not my daughter, just a goddaughter I recognize!"
Stella snorted coldly and threw a paternity test report in his face. "Then explain this to me!"
Kenny caught the report and turned pale. It was the paternity test Lillian had done for him and Sherry last time!
"Honey, how... how did you get this?" he then inquired.
"Kenny, you have such a big daughter, and you even made her the lead actress in your movie. What? Do you want to legitimize this little tramp's mother, too?" Stella scoffed.
"Honey, I..." Kenny explained slowly.
At this moment, not far from the ward door, Katherine leaned against the door frame, leisurely watching the commotion.
Katherine felt the timing was right, so she turned back into the ward and reminded, "Dad, Lillian, it looks like Sherry is being bullied outside and got slapped by a woman!"
"What?" Lillian vanished her sickly look and immediately sat up.
Joshua, hearing these words, was also worried and anxious. But seeing Lillian's inadvertently strong state, he suddenly doubted her injuries.
Lillian also realized she almost gave herself away, so she quickly pretended to be dizzy again, weakly holding her head and then saying, "Joshua, help me out to see who is bullying Sherry!"
"Don't worry. Be careful!" Joshua snapped back to reality. Without thinking much, he went over to help her out of bed. They went out to find Sherry.
In the hospital corridor, Sherry was being yanked by her hair by Stella, attracting a large crowd of onlookers. All people present filmed with their phones, but no one stepped in to stop it.
Kenny couldn't stop Stella and was afraid of being recognized by others, so he retreated to the side, covering his face with his hands.
At the sight of this, Lillian shouted angrily, "Who are you? Why are you hitting my daughter? Let go of my daughter!"
Joshua, supporting Lillian, saw his precious daughter being treated like that and also got angry. "How dare you bully someone in a hospital! Let go of my daughter right now, or I'll call the police!"
Sherry, with tears streaming down her face, looked at her parents as if seeing a lifeline. "Dad, Mom, please save me."
Hearing the couple's voices, Stella turned to look at Lillian, then let go of Sherry and threw her aside!
"So you're this little tramp's mother!" Stella snorted.
Lillian frowned, feeling inexplicably guilty, then asked, "Who... who are you? How dare you insult me?"
"I'm Kenny's wife! You shameless woman! With your own family, why are you still seducing my husband?" Stella scolded.
Hearing that the other woman was Stella, Lillian immediately weakened her momentum and smiled apologetically. "Ah! So it's Mrs. Reid! You must have misunderstood me! There are so many people here. Why don't we go inside the ward and talk slowly?"
Stella had already thrown caution to the wind and didn't care about the crowd. She took out the paternity test report and threw it at Lillian. "Misunderstanding? Didn't you do this paternity test for my husband and your daughter? The test results show they are biological father and daughter, and you still dare to say it's a misunderstanding?"
"What?" Joshua was shocked. He snatched the report and looked at it, his face turning green with anger. He pushed Lillian away and glared at her, demanding, "Lillian, what the hell is going on?"
Lillian couldn't even respond to Joshua and shook her head vigorously at Stella. "No, no! My daughter isn't Mr. Reid's. She's Joshua’s! Mrs. Reid, please don't misunderstand!"
Stella looked at Lillian incredulously. "The paternity test report is right here, and you still have the nerve to deny it?"
Lillian knew that the Reid family had a powerful background and couldn't be easily offended. If Stella believed that Sherry was Kenny's daughter, Sherry's future would be completely ruined!
Thinking of this, Lillian had no choice but to confess. "I'm sorry. I tampered with the report. I just wanted Kenny to help my daughter get more resources! They really have no blood relation. The paternity test result was forged by someone I hired. If you don't believe me, Mrs. Reid, you can investigate the testing agency."
Kenny looked disgusted and snapped. "Lillian, you..."
Joshua widened his eyes. "Lillian, you are..."
Both men spoke almost simultaneously, disgusted by Lillian's shameless actions!
Stella, seeing that Lillian didn't seem to be lying and that her behavior made sense, started to believe her.
Kenny took advantage of Stella's moment of calm and quickly pulled his wife away.
Joshua, feeling utterly humiliated, also prepared to leave.
"Joshua, where are you going?" Lillian asked.
Seeing Joshua about to leave, Lillian nervously grabbed him.
Joshua, full of disdain, said, "I'm disgusted by you two! Lillian, get ready. Tomorrow, we're going to file for divorce!"
Divorce!
Lillian was terrified by that word. This was the first time Joshua had mentioned divorce.
At this moment, a nurse walked over. "Hello, the paternity test you just did has been expedited, and the results are out!"
Lillian quickly took the report from the nurse and handed it to Joshua, trying to please him. "Joshua, look, the results are out. You and Sherry are biological father and daughter. You can't divorce me!"
Joshua didn't even look at it and coldly threw the report aside. "How do I know this report isn't forged, too!"
"Joshua! Joshua!" Lillian yelled out.
No matter how much Lillian called out, Joshua walked away without looking back.
With things having escalated to this point, Sherry, who Stella had beaten until her hair was a mess, collapsed to the ground. Tears welled up in her eyes. "Mom, what do we do now? Kenny won't help me anymore! Joshua doesn't believe us and wants to divorce you. What do we do?"
Lillian squatted down and hugged Sherry, crying bitterly. She gritted her teeth and said, "Sherry, there must be a way. We will find a way! I will not divorce your father!"
Not far away, a faint and cold smile appeared on Katherine.
"How satisfying! They are finally getting what they deserve!" Frank appeared beside Katherine, watching the scene with relish.
Katherine turned and yawned as she walked. Her body was tired, her back ached, and she suddenly remembered that her fatigue was due to making love with Alex last night. Katherine blushed and pinched her brow.
Yesterday afternoon, she had arranged for Frank to airship Lillian's forged paternity test report to Kenny's wife abroad. Stella, being hot-tempered, had flown back overnight.
Today, Frank followed Katherine's instructions to lead Stella here, resulting in this satisfying outcome!
Frank respectfully followed Katherine and said, "Katherine, I also discovered something else about you."
Katherine raised an eyebrow indifferently. "What is it?"
Frank handed the report he was holding to Katherine, but his mood was somewhat complicated. "Katherine, because I always felt that Joshua's attitude towards you wasn't like that of a biological father, I took the liberty of using your hair to do a test. The results show that you and Joshua have no blood relation!"
Katherine looked at the report Frank handed her and stopped in her tracks, stunned.
