Chapter 807 Why Is The Balcony Door Open Again
"You're not in a convenient position to move right now, so stay put. I'll go get the key from the hotel staff and bring in the cold medicine for you. The sooner you take it, the better."
After saying that, Sophia was heading out.
"Wait," Trevor called out to her.
Sophia stopped and asked, "Trevor, what's wrong?"
Trevor replied, "Don't bother the hotel staff. I'm already dressed and up. I'll open the door for you."
Sophia said, "You're already up? Alright then, be careful getting out of bed."
After stopping Sophia, Trevor exchanged a knowing look with Katherine, who was in his arms. Without saying a word, they separated. Katherine got up, opened the balcony door, and left.
Trevor closed the balcony door, then went to the bed and ruffled the sheets a bit. He unbuttoned the bottom two buttons of his shirt before going to open the door for Sophia.
Sophia walked in and instinctively looked around the room, feeling something was off but not finding anything specific.
Seeing her looking around, Trevor asked, "Where's the medicine?"
Sophia looked down at Trevor and noticed the two unbuttoned buttons on his shirt, which eased her suspicion a bit. She handed him the box of medicine.
"This is the medicine. Take two pills at a time, twice a day."
Trevor calmly took the box, "Got it."
Sophia reached out to feel his forehead, "It doesn't seem as hot as before. Trevor, you should take the medicine now. Wait, I'll get you a glass of water!"
With that, she turned and left.
Trevor looked down at the box of medicine in his hand, frowning. He wasn't sick and didn't want to take the medicine.
Over the years, Sophia had coaxed him into taking various medicines, claiming they were good for his recovery. But he felt the more he took them, the weaker his legs became, so he eventually stopped.
He would swallow the pills in front of Sophia and then find a chance to spit them out later.
After stopping the medication for a while, he noticeably felt some sensation returning to his legs.
Now, he had someone he wanted to protect and memories he wanted to recover. He didn't want to ruin his body.
Sophia brought a glass of water, "Trevor, what are you waiting for? Take the medicine!"
Trevor nodded, took two pills from the box, put them in his mouth, and swallowed them with the water.
Seeing him obediently take the medicine, Sophia smiled with satisfaction, "This medicine is very effective. You should feel better by tonight!"
Trevor nodded, "Thanks. I've taken the medicine, so you should go back and keep Dad company."
Sophia said, "Trevor, don't worry. I told Dad you're not feeling well and can't make it over. He's not upset."
Trevor replied, "I'm glad to hear that."
Sophia actually wanted to stay and take care of Trevor. With the kid out of the way today, she wanted to seize the opportunity to spend some time alone with Trevor, even if it was just taking care of him while he was sick.
Seeing Sophia not leaving, Trevor raised an eyebrow, "Why are you still here? Didn't I already take the medicine?"
Sophia snapped out of it, "Trevor, Brent doesn't really need me there."
Trevor sternly said, "Whether he needs you or not, he's your father. It's important to spend time with him, especially since it's his first day here. Tomorrow, you won't have to do this. But today, go keep Dad company for me."
Sophia couldn't argue with that. Knowing Trevor was right and not wanting to upset him, she turned to leave.
As she left, she felt a breeze and glanced towards the balcony.
She had clearly closed the balcony door tightly.
"Trevor, why is the balcony door open again?" she asked, a hint of suspicion in her eyes.
Trevor paused and glanced at the balcony, "I felt stuffy in the room, so I opened it a bit for some air."
Sophia looked back at Trevor, "You're sick right now. You shouldn't be exposed to the cold air."
Trevor nodded, "I'll close it in a bit. You go ahead."
Sophia didn't say anything more, her eyes lingering on the balcony door for a moment before she turned and left.
After Sophia left, Trevor closed the door and then looked towards the balcony.
There was no movement; Katherine was already gone.
He looked down at his open palm, where the two pills he hadn't actually swallowed lay.
Sophia seemed to have sensed something. He needed to remind Katherine to avoid coming over unless necessary, even though he really wanted to see her.
He had no memories, but seeing her made him feel better.
Sophia left her suite and walked towards Brent's suite, still feeling something was off about the balcony door in Trevor's room.
And Trevor had locked the door, which was very suspicious.
As soon as she entered Brent's suite, Nora approached her with a plate of fruit, "Sophia, have some fruit?"
Sophia snapped out of her thoughts, glanced at the fruit plate in Nora's hand, shot her an angry look, and went inside to find Brent without a word.
Nora was a bit helpless but had grown accustomed to Sophia's hostility.
She didn't mind, but Linda did!
Seeing Nora being snubbed by Sophia, Linda crossed her arms and said unhappily, "Mom, she's so rude. Don't bother asking her next time!"
Nora turned to Linda. "Linda, whatever Sophia does is directed at me, not you. Don't get into a conflict with her because of me, understand?"
Linda didn't like how Nora always tolerated things, "Who's getting into a conflict with her? I wouldn't stoop to her level!"
Nora frowned, "Watch your words."
Linda scoffed, "We all know what kind of person she is! She'd do anything to get someone who doesn't love her, even crippling Trevor and ruining his family to satisfy her own desires! She was such a scary woman; I wouldn't dare mess with her! I'm afraid she might cripple me too!"
Nora knew Linda's words were true, feeling conflicted and helpless.
Sophia was the person Brent cared about the most. He wanted Sophia to be happy.
And because she loved Brent deeply, she also wanted him to be happy.
Sophia's actions were indeed excessive, but it had already happened, and there was nothing she and Linda could do to change it.
All they could do was silently pray for that poor woman, Katherine, and hope she could find happiness again.
