Chapter 893 Is Unfaithful Hereditary?
Ambrosia looked wary, "Brent's daughter asked you out? Katherine, you should be careful, it's best not to go."
Although Katherine was somewhat cautious of Linda, she felt that Linda and her mother were different from Brent and Sophia.
"Don't worry, I'll be careful."
Ambrosia wanted to persuade Katherine further, but Sunny suddenly came over with a long-tailed wedding dress, "Ambrosia, try this on. I think it would look great on you for our wedding!"
Katherine smiled and nudged Ambrosia, teasing, "Go on! Try it on! He brought it right to you!"
Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, "Katherine, stop teasing me!"
Katherine shrugged, "I'm not joking. He has good taste; this dress really suits you!"
Ambrosia felt a bit embarrassed.
Sunny, encouraged by Katherine's compliment, insisted, "Ambrosia, did you hear that? Katherine said I have good taste. Come on! Try it on!"
Just as Ambrosia was about to refuse, Sunny dragged her to the fitting room without giving her a chance to speak.
Standing alone, Katherine watched the couple and smiled, then fell into deep thought.
After a while, she took out her phone and sent the time and place to the number she had just received.
After an hour of trying on and selecting dresses, Teresa finally decided on the wedding dress she would wear on her big day.
Sunny, however, couldn't stop picking dresses, wanting Ambrosia to try on every single one in the store. In the end, Ambrosia had to drag him out of the bridal shop with a stern face.
At the shop's entrance, Katherine said a simple goodbye and was about to hail a cab.
Ambrosia grabbed her arm and asked in a low voice, "Katherine, are you really going to meet Brent's youngest daughter?"
Katherine nodded slightly, "I want to see what they want from me."
Ambrosia wanted to persuade Katherine not to go, but she knew Katherine well enough to understand that once she made up her mind, no one could change it. So she said, "I have nothing to do this afternoon. I'll go with you."
Katherine didn't mind Ambrosia coming along, but Sunny was waiting for Ambrosia.
If Ambrosia went with her, Sunny would definitely tag along, and he would be hard to shake off.
Sunny's impatient nature would only cause trouble.
Thinking of this, Katherine shook her head, "Don't worry about me. I know what I'm doing. I set the time and place, so I have my precautions."
Ambrosia frowned, "But..."
Katherine interrupted her with a smile, "Alright, no buts! You should keep Sunny in check and not let him cause me any trouble!"
Ambrosia glanced back at Sunny, who was waiting with his arms crossed, and sighed helplessly, "Alright, Katherine, be careful and keep in touch."
Katherine gave an OK gesture and then hailed a cab and left.
After the cab drove away, Sunny came over to Ambrosia and asked, "Where did Katherine go? Why didn't she let us give her a ride?"
Ambrosia rolled her eyes at him, "You still dare to ask? She finds you annoying!"
Sunny furrowed his brows, looking innocent, "How am I annoying? I didn't even eavesdrop when you two were whispering! Ambrosia, when others find me annoying, you should stand up for me! I'm your future husband!"
Ambrosia took a deep breath and adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, "Alright, we've had our meal, and you've had your fun. I'll take you back to the hospital to be with your dad."
Sunny grinned like a silly dog, "Ambrosia, why don't you come upstairs with me to see my dad?"
Ambrosia replied coldly, "We saw him yesterday. Let's skip today."
She opened the car door and got into the driver's seat.
Sunny followed, got into the passenger seat, and buckled his seatbelt, "Seeing him yesterday was one thing, but seeing him again today is even better! After all, he's your future father-in-law!"
Ambrosia stepped on the gas and started driving, "If you keep talking nonsense, I'll throw you out of the car."
Sunny leaned back in his seat, "I'm not talking nonsense. You're my future wife, so my dad is your future father-in-law! Ambrosia, being too shy isn't good sometimes!"
Ambrosia retorted, "Who told you I'm shy?"
Sunny raised his chin confidently, "No one had to tell me. I can see it. You're shy! You like me!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Ambrosia slammed on the brakes and stopped the car by the roadside.
Sunny was jolted forward by the sudden stop and then pulled back by the seatbelt. He looked at Ambrosia in surprise, "What's wrong? Why did you stop suddenly? Ambrosia, are you really going to kick me out of the car?"
Ambrosia held the steering wheel and looked at him, "If I tell you to get out, will you?"
Sunny clung to the steering wheel, "No! Not even if I die!"
Ambrosia was speechless, "Then be quiet and stop talking so much!"
Sunny immediately mimed zipping his mouth shut, nodded vigorously, and didn't dare to say another word.
Ambrosia really wanted to kick him out, but seeing him like this, she couldn't bring herself to do it.
Sunny was right; she had a love-hate relationship with him.
It was quite contradictory.
Before this, she had never had such complex feelings for any man.
The car was back on the road, and when they reached a no-parking zone on the overpass, Sunny, taking advantage of the traffic rules, couldn't hold back and spoke again, "Ambrosia, seriously, come upstairs with me to see my dad! He's quite pitiful!"
Ambrosia frowned, "What does your dad's pitiful state have to do with me?"
Sunny sighed, "You know my dad wants to see Katherine, but Katherine doesn't want to see him. I can't force her. So, I thought you, as his future daughter-in-law, could come with me to talk to him, chat a bit, and distract him! Just help me out and pity my dad, okay?"
Ambrosia sneered, "Pity your dad? Isn't this the mess he made when he was young? If he hadn't been so unfaithful, Katherine wouldn't have had such a hard childhood. Now that he's old and wants to make amends, does Katherine have to forgive him?"
Sunny looked ashamed, "No, I don't know what happened back then, but he's my dad. I can't just ignore him."
Ambrosia scoffed, "You seem to empathize with your dad a lot. Maybe you'll be just as unfaithful as he was."
