Chapter 333 Donate Blood

Katherine said, "I don't know her. I was just passing by and decided to donate blood."

The doctor looked surprised and impressed. "That's unusual! Not many people are that kind these days. Quick, check her blood type. If it's a match, draw the blood!"

The nurse nodded. "Okay, doctor."

Katherine followed the nurse to the blood collection room, bringing the little girl along since she was worried about her being alone.

Linda, knowing Katherine was going to donate blood for her mom, followed quietly.

After the nurse took a blood sample, she sent it for testing. When it came back as RH negative, she got ready to draw the blood.

Katherine sat down, rolled up her sleeve, and extended her arm.

The nurse inserted the needle, and the tube quickly filled with blood.

But soon, the nurse noticed something was off. "Ma'am, are you okay? You don't look well. Do you have any medical history?"

Katherine shook her head. "No, my blood is healthy. I'm just over two months pregnant."

The nurse was shocked. "What? Pregnant? You can't donate blood if you're pregnant!"

She quickly removed the needle and pressed a cotton ball on the puncture site.

Katherine said, "It's fine. I'm confident in my condition. A little blood won't hurt. Continue."

The nurse shook her head firmly. "No way! Pregnant women shouldn't donate blood. It's too risky for you and the baby."

Katherine, knowing her body well, felt she could donate a bit more.

Linda reminded her of her own childhood, feeling helpless in the hospital when her mom didn't come back.

She remembered wishing an adult would help her find her mom.

The fear of losing her mom still haunted her.

She couldn't leave this little girl, who was about the same age she had been, without helping.

If the girl lost her mom, she'd be another pitiful child in the world.

As for her own body, she could recover later.

"I know my limits. Please continue."

"No way! You can't give any more blood!" The nurse looked at the half-filled blood bag. "This isn't enough, but it'll help for now. We'll find other blood sources."

The little girl, understanding the situation despite her age, asked with teary eyes, "Ma'am, if sis can't donate blood, will my mom be in danger?"

The nurse wanted to comfort her but had to be honest. She sighed. "If we can't find enough blood, your mom might be in danger."

Katherine interrupted, "Don't worry, your mom will be fine! I'll find new blood sources for her right now!"

The nurse was stunned, looking at Katherine in surprise. Was she serious or just trying to comfort the child?

Linda's eyes lit up with hope. "Really? Sis, can you find other blood for my mom?"

Katherine gently patted her head. "Yes, sis never lies. You wait here, okay?"

The nurse refused to draw more of her blood, and Katherine didn't want to make things difficult for her. The nurse was just looking out for her. It wasn't suitable for pregnant women to donate blood, and the hospital's responsible attitude was understandable.

Since her blood couldn't usable, she had to find someone with the same blood type. Katherine was confident because two people in the hospital were her blood relatives: Bernard and Sunny. Especially Bernard, who likely had the same blood type.

Leaving Linda with the nurse, Katherine promised to return within ten minutes and headed upstairs to the inpatient department.

In a private room, Bernard was scolding Sunny about his studies and his secret online hacking activities. Sunny listened dejectedly, occasionally responding with a soft "hmm."

The door suddenly opened, bringing in a chilly breeze from the hallway. Katherine hurriedly asked, "What are your blood types?"

Bernard remained silent. Sunny looked confused.

Seeing Katherine return, Sunny was a bit happy and responded, "I'm RH negative. Why?"

Confirming that Sunny's blood type was a match, Katherine didn't bother with Bernard and walked directly to the bed. "A little girl's mom downstairs is in critical condition from a car accident and urgently needs a blood donation. Come with me to donate some blood!"

Hearing it was a matter of life and death, Sunny didn't hesitate and nodded. "Okay! Let's go!" He started to get out of bed.

"You're not going anywhere!" Bernard spoke with a stern, authoritative tone.

Hearing his brother's voice, Sunny froze and looked weakly at him. "Bernard, it's a matter of life and death."

Bernard glanced coldly at his brother, then looked at Katherine with a sneer. "Ms. Galatea, why don't you donate yourself instead of asking others?"

Katherine showed him her arm with the needle mark. "I already donated some blood. The hospital won't let me donate more. It's an emergency, so I came to you for help!"

Bernard raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with suspicion. "Why won't the hospital let you donate more blood?"

Katherine replied, "Because I..."

She was at a loss for words. She couldn't reveal her pregnancy.

Sunny, getting anxious, mustered the courage to interject, "Bernard! Stop asking so many questions. Saving a life is more important."

Bernard glared at him. "Stay in bed! If you dare to leave, forget about those computers and files you have hidden!"

Sunny was terrified. Those were his life's work, his dreams! What should he do? Bernard always meant what he said!

Ignoring Sunny, Bernard looked at Katherine. "Let's talk outside."
