Chapter 108 You Treat, I Pay
Hilton looked at Sunny and teased. "Sunny, did you hear that? Alex wants you to treat us to lamb chops again!"
Sunny was still staring intently at Katherine. When Hilton called him, he snapped back to reality, feeling a bit embarrassed, and said, "Uh... Alex, my card was recently frozen by Bernard. I spent all my secret stash on that lamb yesterday. I can't afford it today."
Alex remained indifferent as he tilted his chin slightly. "No problem. Today, Katherine will treat it."
Who? Katherine realized Alex was referring to her. Her cheeks puffed up like a balloon. She frowned, looking very unwilling!
She thought, ‘Weird! Why should I treat these people to lamb chops?’
She had no relationship with them and barely knew them! Besides, she was just someone Alex brought along, right?
Everyone's eyes were on Katherine.
Katherine didn't want to take a treat, so she refused, "No, I don't."
However, before she could finish her sentence, Alex's large hand suddenly gripped her shoulder, pulling her closer.
Then, Alex leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Ms. Galatea, my phone is with you, and you know the payment password. You treat them, I pay."
Upon hearing this, Katherine instantly relaxed her frown and smiled brightly at everyone. "No problem, I'll treat you today!"
Hilton, intrigued, clicked his tongue. "If Katherine is treating, then we won't hold back!"
Katherine grinned and answered, "Don't hold back! Order whatever you want. Try to bankrupt me in one go!"
Hilton clapped his hands, getting excited. "Did everyone hear that? Don't hold back with Alex today. Order the best food and drinks. Don't miss out on anything!"
Alex squinted at Katherine. As soon as she heard it was his money, her attitude changed completely.
Annoying, yet inexplicably cute!
"Ms. Galatea, isn't this a bit much? Just because it's my money, you think they can splurge freely?" Alex said.
Katherine rolled her eyes at him and muttered, "Alex, it was your idea to treat, not mine! If you're treating, you should be generous. If not, then don't treat at all!"
Alex sneered, "If you are so generous, why don't you spend your own money to treat?"
Katherine retorted sarcastically, "My money doesn't grow on trees. I spend it on things I find meaningful, not on treating people I barely know to food and drinks! Besides, you've already slept with me, and now you want me to spend money on you, too?"
As soon as she finished that last sentence, Katherine turned bright red!
Damn, she had accidentally brought up that topic!
Realizing what she had said, Katherine immediately turned her face away in embarrassment.
Alex paused for two seconds, then chuckled softly. His large hand gently ruffled the soft hair on her head. "Hmm, you make a good point. Keep your money for what you want to do. Spend mine as you please. Is that okay?"
Seeing that Alex didn't take the opportunity to tease her, Katherine breathed a sigh of relief and felt a bit triumphant for successfully getting Alex to pay. She smiled. "Don't worry, Alex! I won't hold back!"
Alex's lips curved slightly as he gazed at her, a gentle mist rising in his eyes.
Not far away, Sophie watched Alex and Katherine whispering closely and felt displeased. It was an eyesore. She had never seen Alex bend down and listen so attentively to a woman with such a patient and accommodating posture.
This was not the Alex she knew!
After thinking it over, Sophie put on a friendly smile and walked over to greet them. "Katherine, you're here too. Is this your first time riding a horse?"
Katherine turned to look at Sophie. Because of the previous watch incident, she didn't have a good impression of Sophie.
"No, I've ridden a few times before," Katherine answered.
"Is that so?" Sophie smiled, but she thought Katherine was trying to save face.
With her rural background, what opportunities would she have to ride horses?
"If you know how to ride, that's even better. We can race later!" Sophie then advised.
Teresa, getting a bit impatient, came over and pulled Katherine. "Katherine, let me take you to change into riding clothes!"
"Riding clothes?" Katherine raised an eyebrow. "I didn't bring any!"
Teresa was taken aback. "You didn't bring riding clothes? I brought two sets. You can wear mine, but I don't have extra riding boots!"
Sophie smiled casually. "I happened to bring an extra pair of boots. I just don't know what size Katherine wears or if they'll fit."
Katherine said, "I'm a size 6.5."
Sophie added, "I'm a size 7.5, a bit bigger, but you can try them on."
Katherine nodded, then said, "Okay, thanks."
Sophie smiled warmly. "We're all friends, no need to be so formal!"
With that, the three girls headed to the changing room.
In the changing room.
Katherine changed into the riding clothes Teresa gave her.
A red outfit and the tight-fitting style of the riding clothes accentuated her curvy figure. She tied her hair up into a casual bun. Her head was small and round, her face delicate, making her look both fresh and spirited, with a touch of feminine charm brought out by the vibrant red.
Teresa was stunned and then called out, "Wow, Katherine. You look amazing in this outfit!"
Katherine was indifferent and answered, "Really? It's the clothes that look good, not me."
Teresa said dreamily, "Believe me, it's you who looks good, making the clothes look good too! If I were a guy, I'd make you mine and not give Alex a chance!"
Katherine smirked.
"Katherine, try on these riding boots. They're new and haven't been worn yet." Sophie walked over with a pair of riding boots.
Hearing her voice, Katherine turned around. Sophie was momentarily stunned.
Women were more critical when looking at other women.
Katherine, dressed in riding clothes with her hair in a bun, looked stunning and spirited, flawless in every way. She was so beautiful that even Sophie felt a bit inferior.
Katherine tried on Sophie's riding boots, but they were too big and slipped off when she walked.
She took them off and handed them back to Sophie. "Thanks for the offer, but they don't fit. I'll wear my sneakers."
Sophie smiled helplessly. "Well, there's nothing we can do then."
After changing into riding clothes, Katherine and Teresa went out first. Sophie said she needed to use the restroom and told them not to wait for her.
Outside.
Alex and Hilton were sitting under a sunshade, chatting idly.
Hilton was the first to see Katherine coming out of the changing room. He was stunned for a moment, then smiled and nudged Alex with his elbow, signaling him to look over.
Alex raised his eyes indifferently and glanced over as if struck by an arrow to the heart!
Katherine stood there in her red outfit, almost glowing.
Alex had always known Katherine was beautiful, but seeing her in riding clothes with her hair up took his breath away.
At this moment, Katherine had shed some of the youthful innocence she usually possessed in casual clothes, replacing it with a more mature and alluring charm.
In short, she was stunning.
Just then, a piercing scream suddenly came from the changing room.
