Chapter 137 Alex's First Love Is Back!
At Moonlight Manor, Teresa hurriedly handed her car to the valet and then followed Katherine with a camera in hand.
Katherine was quite helpless about it and then asked, "Aren't you supposed to be filming a vlog about your own daily life? Why are you filming me all the time?"
Teresa giggled, "Because you're so beautiful, Katherine! I can't help myself!"
She wanted to capture the entire process of Katherine getting out of the car, meeting Alex, and hearing Alex confess his feelings to her. She wanted to film it like a beautiful short movie and post it on Twitter to make everyone envious!
Katherine pinched the bridge of her nose and decided to ignore Teresa. She walked towards the manor, stepping through the moonstone archway, the entrance to Moonlight Manor.
As she entered, a gentle breeze blew, carrying a fragrant scent.
Katherine's eyes widened in shock as she took in the scene before her. Today's Moonlight Manor was completely different from any other time she had visited. The garden was filled with pink tulips, which had never been there before. It was like an endless sea of pink flowers, swaying gently in the evening breeze.
"Katherine, why did you stop walking?" Teresa caught up, equally stunned by the sight. "Oh my God! It's so beautiful!"
She thought, 'Alex is so romantic! He could be the epitome of romance as long as he figured it out ! What girl could resist being mesmerized by such a sea of flowers.'
Katherine snapped out of her daze and narrowed her bright, beautiful eyes. It wasn't tulip season, and Moonlight Manor usually had roses and evergreen plants.
These out-of-season tulips were clearly greenhouse-grown and transplanted here in large quantities, and ensuring they bloomed perfectly was a high-difficulty task.
A narrow path had been left through the sea of flowers, clearly intended to guide someone.
Katherine thought for a moment and then followed the path into the sea of pink tulips.
Teresa joyfully filmed the dreamy flower-filled environment before chasing after Katherine again. She was getting more and more excited about Alex's appearance!
Katherine was a smart woman. Seeing such a scene, she already guessed that something extraordinary was about to happen.
And she was the main character?
From the moment she and Teresa got out of the car until now, they hadn't seen a single person in Moonlight Manor aside from the valet.
It was obvious that someone had deliberately cleared the area.
As she walked, Katherine saw a man's figure standing at the end of the flower path.
It was Alex.
Alex stood there, his back to the direction Katherine was coming from. His finely tailored suit perfectly showcased his golden-ratio inverted triangle physique.
Hearing her footsteps, he slowly turned around, his strikingly handsome face as captivating as the first time they met.
From about a hundred meters away, their eyes met, and their gazes intertwined.
Katherine thought she might have had too much coffee; her heart was actually racing.
The man seemed to notice her nervousness, his thin lips curving into a gentle smile, his tone exceptionally soft. "You're here?"
Katherine was momentarily stunned and then nodded. "Yes."
As she nodded, she noticed a large pink box, about a meter high, with a big bow on top, placed between her and Alex.
Was it a gift?
Did Alex prepare such a big gift for her?
If so, Katherine would feel that the $50 T-shirt she bought today was underwhelming.
Alex's eyes were deep and warm as he walked towards her.
Katherine's heart started to pound. Was Alex really going to confess to her? Her heart was in turmoil, and she did not know how to face this sudden change in their relationship.
Just then, the one-meter-high box suddenly burst open with a bang!
The square box fell to the ground, and a slender girl in a fancy dress jumped out, accompanied by a flurry of colorful butterflies, creating a stunning scene.
The girl excitedly threw herself into the man's arms, snuggling close to him. "Alex, I'm finally back! Thank you for everything you prepared for me. I love it, and I'm so touched!"
Katherine stood there, her expression cooling as she quietly watched them. The nervousness and excitement she felt just moments ago now seemed laughable.
Scarlett was back.
Today, every tulip in Moonlight Manor was blooming for Scarlett.
Alex had probably called her here to let her know that Scarlett was back so she would be aware and act appropriately when pretending to be his wife, making sure not to let Scarlett misunderstand. That must be it, right?
So that's how it was. She understood now.
Katherine almost let herself believe that Alex was going to confess to her! She really overthought it! Alex had once told her that he could give her anything except his feelings.
His feelings belonged only to his first love!
Just like the language of tulips—true love, the only love, endless love.
A butterfly fluttered by, circling in front of Katherine as if to remind her that she was the extra one and it was time for her to leave.
Not far away, Teresa, who had been planning to film Alex's "grand confession," was stunned, her brows furrowed tightly.
She thought, ‘What’s going on? What is Alex doing? Why did Scarlett have to come back today of all days? Wait, where is Katherine?’
Teresa realized Katherine was gone. She turned around with the camera but couldn't find any trace of Katherine.
She quickly took out her phone to call Katherine, but the emotionless voice on the other end said, "Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Sorry..."
Katherine had already left.
Night fell downtown. In the most bustling area of Janetrick, skyscrapers stood tall, and the night view was beautiful, even more so today.
The LED advertisement on the exterior wall of the Century Bank skyscraper displayed the words "I love you, S" in a loop.
The message "Welcome back, my Princess S!" played repeatedly on the big screen of the neighboring building.
Expensive blue fireworks constantly lit up the sky, and numerous drones performed, forming the shape of a heart pierced by an arrow.
Young couples strolling by the river, tourists taking photos, and some passersby were all looking at the scene with envy and curiosity, filled with admiration.
"Oh my God, who is making a confession?"
"So sweet!"
"Sweet with a hint of burning money!"
A girl said, "I heard that a mysterious big shot recently bought all the greenhouse-grown pink tulips in the world and had them airlifted back to the country, orchestrating an overnight transplantation at Moonlight Manor. It must be to set the scene for confessing to his beloved woman!"
"Moonlight Manor? The love confession on that skyscraper's LED ad has an 'S' in it. Could it be Scarlett, the second daughter of the Mitchell family, is back?"
"Who's Scarlett?"
That girl explained, "You don't know Scarlett? She's the second daughter of the Mitchell family! The luckiest girl in the world! Her grandfather is a world-renowned scientist. Her grandmother is a royal princess from a foreign country. Her father is a world champion. Her mother is an award-winning actress. Her elder brother is the CEO of a company that has been in the top three of the world's richest list for years, and her younger brother is the most popular guy in school. She was born with everything!"
Another guy added, "Not only that, Scarlett is also very beautiful, the kind who has been beautiful since she was a child!"
"No wonder a man would go to such lengths to confess to her. After all, she lacks nothing and is hard to impress!"
Katherine sat on a sightseeing bench in the city center, sipping a Coke, looking up at the drone show and the blue fireworks in the sky, as well as the cheesy confessions on the skyscrapers.
Her eyes were cold and deep, and she curled her lips slightly.
This money-burning confession was quite impressive.
Alex really put his heart into this confession.
