Chapter 748 Hypnosis

Katherine noticed that Julian was in a bad mood. She crouched down to make eye contact with him and patiently asked, "What's wrong?"

Julian said worriedly, "You said you would punish me when we got home. I'm scared."

Katherine was taken aback at first, then she laughed.

Seeing Katherine suddenly laugh, Julian was a bit confused. He blinked his big eyes and looked at her in bewilderment.

Although he didn't know why Katherine was laughing, he genuinely thought she looked so beautiful and cute when she smiled.

Katherine reached out and picked him up, gently holding him in her arms to comfort him. "You silly thing! Mommy was just saying that out of anger. Did you really think Mommy would do anything to you?"

Only then did Julian relax, quietly resting his head on Katherine's shoulder.

He had thought Katherine would really punish him for running around.

Julian snuggled closer to Katherine. "Mommy, I want to stay with you forever. I never want to leave you."

But eventually, he would have to go back to his daddy.

Hearing his words, Katherine felt a bit puzzled. She ruffled his hair. "Silly boy, of course, you can always be with Mommy! But when you grow up and have a wife, you might not want to be with Mommy as much!"

Julian lifted his head, looked at her seriously, and said firmly, "I won't get married. I don't like the idea of having a wife!"

Katherine laughed at his childish innocence. "Are you sure? When you meet a girl you like, you might forget all about what Mommy said!"

Julian pouted and shook his head vigorously. "No, I won't!"

Julian still didn't quite understand what having a wife meant.

Katherine spoke earnestly to him, "About what happened today, Mommy hopes it won't happen again. If you run off like you did today, Mommy won't talk to you anymore, understand?"

Julian pouted, feeling conflicted, and nodded. "I understand. I won't do it again."

Next time, it wouldn't be running off; he would be going back to Trevor.

Katherine handed him to Fiona and then ruffled his hair again. "Alright, go with Aunt Fiona and get something to eat!"

Julian obediently said, "Okay!"

Fiona held Julian and turned to call the other two kids. "Charles, take Edith and come with me. Let's go get something to eat!"

Charles responded and led Edith to follow Fiona.

Katherine watched Fiona take Julian to the dining room and settle him down. She felt a bit relieved and didn't sit back on the sofa. Instead, she went upstairs to her room to rest.

Although she loved her three kids very much, she had to admit that taking care of them was not easy, especially since she had three!

With Fiona at home to help watch the kids, she could take a little break.

In the hotel where Sophia was staying, Bernard had checked into a suite and was sitting on the sofa, listening intently to his subordinate's report.

Billy stood respectfully to the side and said, "Mr. Mitchell, the suite across the hall is where Sophia is staying. However, the hotel front desk is very tight-lipped and wouldn't reveal any other information about the guests. I had to get the information from the housekeeping staff on this floor. It turns out a family of three is staying there."

A family of three?

How ridiculous!

Three years ago, Alex snuck into the delivery room and stole one of Katherine's children. It turns out he did this to form a family of three with Sophia, and they've been living a shameless life for three years now.

Bernard's eyes darkened as he instructed, "Billy, keep watch at the door. Use the peephole to monitor the situation across the hall. Report to me immediately if anyone goes in or out."

"Yes, Mr. Mitchell!" Billy took the order and went to the suite door, keeping a close watch on the opposite door without any slack.

Bernard watched Billy go, then rubbed his temples.

He didn't care about Alex's fate at all.

What he cared about was his sister, Katherine.

If Alex had indeed stolen a child on purpose and abandoned his family to live with Sophia, how would Katherine face the truth?

What would the past three years of waiting, searching, and hoping mean?

She would be devastated.

If Alex had truly betrayed Katherine, he might as well be dead!

At least if he were dead, Katherine's sincere heart wouldn't be so thoroughly shattered.

And as long as there was no news of Alex's death, Katherine would still hold on to hope. In a few years, she might even be able to forget this love completely.

At this moment, in the suite across the hall, Sophia received a call from the auction house asking her to come back and verify her identity. A client was questioning whether she was the daughter of the owner of the Silvershade Vale property, suspecting her of inflating the price.

There was no need to ask; Sophia knew it was Katherine!

She casually brushed off the auction house with a few words, insisting she wasn't, and then hung up the phone.

She knew this matter wouldn't end here and that there would be more trouble ahead, all caused by that bitch Katherine!

Whenever Sophia crossed paths with Katherine, it never ended well.

Sophia was feeling very frustrated and didn't want to deal with the auctioning of the property. She was more concerned about Trevor's reaction.

Trevor had seen Katherine today. Although he hadn't shown any unusual behavior yet, she was afraid it might trigger his memories.

Back then, after she and Alex had completed the annulment procedures, she found an excuse to keep Alex around to help her with her suitors.

In reality, she had no suitors. Everyone in Markovia knew her father was Brent, and no one dared to have any improper thoughts about Brent's daughter.

That day, she had deliberately found an excuse to keep Alex around, waiting for the highly skilled hypnotist she had hired to arrive and perform hypnosis on Alex.

She made him forget his identity and all his past memories.

She also had the hypnotist perform emotional hypnosis to make Alex fall in love with her and be forever infatuated with her.

Unfortunately, while the memory hypnosis was successful, the emotional hypnosis was not.

The world-class hypnotist had said he had never seen someone as strong-willed as Alex. Usually, almost everyone would fall under his hypnosis.

Alex was the hardest person to hypnotize he had ever encountered.

Just making him lose his memory had taken a lot of effort, and the emotional hypnosis to make him fall in love with her had no effect, no matter how it was guided.

Thinking of this, Sophia couldn't help but sigh. Even hypnosis didn't work on him. Was it really that hard for him to love her?
