Chapter 396 There's Something on Your Face
Katherine snapped back to reality, staring at Alex's familiar face, feeling amazed.
So, she had met him that early and even saved his life by chance!
She remembered how young he looked back then—a pale, slender, beautiful boy. Despite being injured and poisoned, he was still handsome!
Now, he had matured, gotten stronger, and his demeanor had turned colder.
No wonder she didn't recognize him before!
Alex noticed her staring and frowned. "Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something on my face?"
Katherine blinked and nodded. "Yeah ."
He asked. "What is it? Help me get it off."
Katherine shook her head. "I can't get it off!"
Alex was puzzled. "What is it?"
Katherine replied seriously, "Your good looks!"
He was stunned for a moment, then laughed.
He leaned in closer, their noses almost touching. "Really? Think I look good, don't you want to kiss me?"
Katherine was speechless.
Alex seemed like a kissing maniac!
Didn't he have anything else to do all day?
Before Katherine could refuse, Alex's breath was already close.
Teresa, who was driving in the front, couldn't hold back anymore and cleared her throat in protest. "Alex, I'm just listening to music, not deaf! Please, have mercy, and don't torture this single person! Kiss Katherine at home!"
Katherine was genuinely startled; she had forgotten Teresa was there. She quickly pushed him away, straightened her appearance, and sat properly, keeping her distance from him.
Seeing Katherine suddenly move so far away, Alex looked displeased and glared at Teresa. "Focus on driving, watch the road, and don't look where you shouldn't!"
Teresa stuck her tongue out at the rearview mirror.
After dropping Alex and Katherine at the Melville Manor entrance, Teresa drove away.
As soon as Alex entered the house holding Katherine's hand, he was furious at the mess inside.
There was water everywhere on the floor, several vases were broken in the living room, and shards were scattered all over.
Despite this, no one was cleaning up, and there wasn't a single servant in sight.
"Where is everyone?" Alex said in a deep voice.
Anton hurriedly came out of the kitchen. "Welcome back."
Alex, looking displeased, questioned, "What's going on here?"
Anton explained helplessly, "Ms. Melville was cleaning and accidentally made this mess."
Alex frowned. "She was cleaning?"
Anton nodded, "Yes, sir."
Alex, who was a neat freak, couldn't stand the mess at home and said coldly, "Who told her to do this? What does she know about cleaning!"
Anton was terrified by Alex's attitude. "It was... it was Mrs. Melville who told her to do it."
Alex's displeased expression paused, and he turned to look at Katherine, who was holding his hand, and gently tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Katherine, why did you make her do this? She doesn't know how."
Anton was astonished!
Alex's attitude flipped in a second. He had been stern with Anton before, but now he was speaking gently to Katherine.
Katherine yawned and replied, "It's because she doesn't know how that I wanted her to learn and practice. Otherwise, what will Fiona do if she can't do anything and can't get married in the future!"
Alex agreed and patted her head. "Yeah, she needs the practice."
Anton stayed silent.
Was Alex really this unprincipled?
Alex's smile vanished. "Where is she? Call her over!"
Anton replied, "She's washing dishes in the kitchen."
Before he could finish, a loud crash of breaking dishes echoed from the kitchen.
Anton, embarrassed, said, "I'll get Ms. Melville right away!"
He headed straight for the kitchen.
Soon, Fiona emerged, looking disheveled and nervous. "Alex, you're back!"
Alex squinted at her, feeling a headache. "You just noticed me?"
Fiona reluctantly greeted Katherine. "Katherine, you're back too."
Katherine nodded lightly.
Alex sternly said, "You're an adult now, and you make such a mess doing chores? You can't even study well! What can you do?"
Fiona lowered her head. "Alex, I didn't do it on purpose. I've never done chores before."
Alex had no patience. "You have an hour to clean this up!"
Fiona mumbled, "Oh."
Katherine tugged at Alex's hand. "Go upstairs and shower. I'll talk to her."
Alex looked at his sister coldly, then softened as he turned to Katherine. He gently brushed her cheek. "Be careful, it's slippery, and there are shards on the floor."
Katherine nodded. "Got it."
He stepped over the mess and went upstairs.
Once Alex was out of sight, Fiona glared at Katherine. "Katherine, you idiot! It's your fault I got scolded by Alex again!"
Katherine calmly asked, "Have you eaten?"
Fiona was taken aback, then glared again. "What a stupid question! You gave all the servants a day off. Who would cook for me?"
Katherine lifted the takeout box. "We ate out and packed some food for you. I'll heat it."
Fiona was stunned. What was Katherine up to, pretending to be nice?
"No need! I don't want your leftovers!"
"It's not leftovers; we ordered it separately after we finished eating," Katherine said as she navigated around the mess and walked into the kitchen.
Soon, she had the food heated up, plated, and brought it out.
"Come and eat. The food from this place is pretty good."
Fiona walked over and looked at the food. Although she didn't want to eat it, the dishes looked quite appetizing.
She had been working all day, so she was starving and her stomach growled.
In the end, hunger won over pride, and Fiona sat down, picked up the fork, and before eating, glared at Katherine again. "Even if you brought me food, I still hate you!"
Katherine pulled out a chair and sat down across from her. "Don't worry, I don't like you either."
Fiona, starving, took a big bite and swallowed, rolling her eyes. "Who cares about your liking? What do you want to talk about? Say it quickly, or get lost! Don't be an eyesore in front of me!"
