Chapter 43 Katherine Building
On the platform, Yeager Young, a top student from the music department of Janetrick University, took the stage with her father to deliver her graduation speech.
Yeager and her father were deeply moved by their four years of university life, even shedding tears.
"Yeager's dad looks so young. He's handsome!"
"Yeager is the campus belle of Janetrick University, so her parents must have great genes."
"Wow, Yeager's dad said he would donate three pianos to the music department. He's wealthy!"
"I envy Yeager's life. She comes from a wealthy family, is beautiful, her parents dote on her, and she's outstanding."
After Yeager and her father finished their speech, Yeager felt exceptionally happy after hearing the praise and admiration from her classmates in the audience. She walked off the stage, full of vanity.
Backstage, Yeager noticed Katherine, who was waiting quietly at the end of the line to take the stage last.
It was a tradition that the last person to appear was usually the most esteemed.
Yeager was displeased with this arrangement, but she heard that it was Roger's decision, so she didn't dare to protest.
After some thought, Yeager walked over to Katherine and deliberately said, "Katherine, did you come alone today?"
Katherine nodded lightly and replied, "Well, yes."
Sympathetically, Yeager said, "I heard from classmates that you were abandoned by your family in the countryside, and you worked hard to study and get into our university. Hey! You must have gone through a lot of hardships being left in the countryside at such a young age, right? Just thinking about it makes me feel sorry for you. Katherine, no wonder you work so hard. Katherine smiled and asked, "Is that so? Do you plan to continue relying on your parents after graduation?"
Yeager felt refuted and wrinkled her brows in grievance. "Katherine, I was just trying to show my concern for you. I didn't mean anything else. But your way of speaking is rude! Just as my dad said, there's a reason why someone is disliked by others."
When the emcee announced Katherine's name from the stage, she ignored Yeager, walked past her, and went up to the platform.
She began, "Firstly, I would like to thank the school and my teachers. Reflecting on my university life, I want to summarize my growth..."
Katherine's appearance. She didn't wear makeup, her demeanor was composed, and her smile was confident. Her graduation speech, filled with humor, was infectious and elicited laughter from the audience, mixed with tears of emotion.
She was not like the previous speakers, whose speeches only moved themselves.
People in the audience whispered.
"Katherine truly deserves her reputation as a top student. Her graduation speech is so touching."
"To be honest, Katherine is also one of the most beautiful girls in the school, but her background is not as privileged as Yeager's."
"In fact, Katherine from the math department is a real academic genius, and she's even prettier than Yeager."

With these two advantages, Katherine could never compare to her.
Katherine's graduation speech was not yet finished when a strange silence fell over the university auditorium.
After a few minutes of silence, the students began to whisper again.
"Look, the man who just walked onto the stage is very handsome!"
"Oh my! Who is he? I've never seen such a handsome man in real life!"
"Not only is he handsome, but he's also very elegant. Is he the mysterious guest invited by the school?"
When Katherine reached the conclusion of her speech, she felt that her classmates' reactions were a bit off. They seemed to be staring behind her.
She turned around in surprise, and indeed, she was stunned.
Alexander was there. He was looking at her from behind, his gaze captivating. He walked straight up and stood by her side. He was tall, so he raised the microphone, and his deep, charismatic voice was amplified throughout the hall. "Good morning; as Katherine's family, I am here today to express my special thanks to Janetrick University for nurturing and taking care of Katherine. I don't have much time, so I won't say much. Here, on behalf of Katherine, I will donate an experimental building to Janetrick University as a token of our appreciation."
Katherine was speechless, thinking, 'Is he out of his mind?'
The whole place was in chaos.
The school leaders in the audience were shocked.
Everyone was astonished by Alexander's donation of an experimental building!
"Wow! He's handsome and wealthy, and he just donated a building!"
"This man calmly donated a building. He's too amazing. What's his relationship with Katherine?"
"He's attending as a family member, so is he Katherine's brother? But he doesn't look anything like her."
"He looks so young, so he can't be Katherine's father, right?"
Roger excitedly walked onto the stage. "Students, let us thank Katherine's family for their generous donation. Please give a warm round of applause for Katherine and her parents!"
A thunderous applause erupted and lasted for a long time.
Yeager's face was filled with embarrassment, her pride shattered. Once again, she was overshadowed by Katherine! In comparison, the three pianos that Yeager's father had just promised to donate seemed insignificant.
She thought, 'Damn it! Katherine is a neglected, illegitimate child, right? Who is that handsome and wealthy man on the stage?'
During the break, Fiona was in the freshman foreign language classroom.
One of Fiona's female classmates rushed in and said, "Fiona, big news. I heard that your brother donated a building to the school!"
Fiona had just been scolded by Alexander for her academic performance, and she was still in tears. Upon hearing this news, she felt pleasantly surprised. "I knew it. Although my brother scolds me, he still loves me! To make the teachers treat me better during exams, my brother has donated a building to the school!"
The girl felt a bit awkward and said, "Um, it seems like your brother didn't donate because of you."
