Chapter 989 Actually Hating Renee
Cheryl suddenly pushed the door open and walked in, smiling at the interviewers, "Excuse me, interviewers, I have something to inform you!"
Seeing her sudden entrance, Christina stood up abruptly with a sense of foreboding, "Cheryl, what are you trying to do?"
Cheryl gave her a malicious smile and then looked at the interviewers, "I can't bear to see you work so hard to interview so many excellent candidates, only to end up hiring someone as morally corrupt as Christina, ruining the reputation of the Rojas Group!"
The interviewers looked at each other in confusion, and then one of them, sitting in the middle, spoke up, "What do you mean? Why shouldn't we hire Christina? She meets all our requirements!"
"Well, she's not a simple woman. She has issues with her personal life, disobeys her parents, and has cut ties with them. Now she's involved with a married man!"
Cheryl's words shocked the interviewers, and they began to doubt Christina, not expecting her to be such a person.
The job she had worked so hard to get was about to be ruined, and Christina was really angry. She stepped forward anxiously to explain, "It's not like that! I'm not involved with a married man. Don't listen to her nonsense!"
"Really?" Cheryl said with a smirk, "Then tell me, as an unemployed girl, who lent you three million dollars to throw in front of your parents and demand they cut ties with you? If you weren't someone's mistress, would anyone give you that kind of money?"
Christina stared at Cheryl's nonsense, struggling to resist the urge to slap her, but she couldn't explain it clearly. She couldn't possibly mention Bernard's name.
Seeing Christina's silence, Cheryl smiled even more triumphantly, "What? Can't explain it? Admit it, that money was given to you for being a homewrecker!"
"What? Being a homewrecker?"
"If someone like her is exposed, it will directly affect our company's reputation!"
"How did someone like her even come to the interview?"
Cheryl's words shocked everyone present, making them realize that Christina was such a person, and they were relieved that they hadn't hired her yet, or it would have been troublesome.
"Interviewers, please let me explain. Cheryl is my half-sister, but what she said is not true!" Christina said helplessly, sincerely explaining, "I did cut ties with my family for three million dollars because my original family was always exploiting me. The details are personal, and I can't go into them. I can only say that my parents always favored Cheryl and wanted to use me to benefit her. I had no choice but to cut ties with them. The three million dollars was borrowed, and I'm looking for a job to pay off the debt. Please believe me, I swear I've never done anything immoral!"
Cheryl crossed her arms and sneered, "Benefit me? Christina, do you think what you're saying makes sense? I have a job and am a somewhat famous artist. Do you think I need someone unemployed to benefit me?
You ruined someone else's family, became a homewrecker, and the man's wife even came to our house. If it weren't for our parents calming her down with money, do you think you'd still be unharmed?"
Now Christina truly understood what it meant to be unable to defend oneself against false accusations!
Cheryl would say anything to ruin her chance of getting the job!
Christina indeed couldn't provide evidence to prove she hadn't done those things.
After discussing, the interviewers finally apologized to Christina and didn't hire her.
Christina understood there was no hope. Although she felt very regretful, she could only leave dejectedly.
She originally thought that cutting ties with the Russell family for three million dollars would stop them from interfering in her life. But Cheryl just wouldn't let her go. Even when she tried to find a job to support herself, Cheryl had to interfere, not wanting her to have a better life.
Was this her fate?
"Oh, you didn't get the job? That's too bad, Christina. Would you like me to help you find a position on a film crew?"
As Christina walked dejectedly to the Rojas Group's entrance, Cheryl caught up from behind, looking at her mockingly.
"Cheryl, you'd better not show up in front of me right now!" Christina was in an extremely bad mood, and she couldn't guarantee she wouldn't do something extreme.
The suppressed anger in her heart seemed about to explode at any moment, but she tried hard to control herself not to cause a scene at the Rojas Group's entrance.
Christina only felt hatred for Cheryl now, with no trace of familial affection. Cheryl had taken all her mother's love from her since childhood and always targeted and made things difficult for her.
She had endured everything, given up everything, but why wouldn't Cheryl let her go?
"Christina, as long as I'm around, I won't let you have a good life!" Cheryl looked at her viciously, her eyes full of arrogance, "You deserve this! Who told your mother to marry my dad and have you! I hate sharing attention with others. If it weren't for you, I'd be the only daughter of the Russell family!"
Christina couldn't believe Cheryl hated her mother too.
"Cheryl, you hate my mom? She has always been good to you, always favored you, never wronged you! And you hate her!"
"Luckily, your mother is smart, listens to me and dad, and works, saving us a maid's salary. Otherwise, I'd have found a way to get Dad to kick you and your mother out!" Cheryl said disdainfully, "At least Renee takes care of me! As for you, the extra one, you should have been gone long ago!"
Christina couldn't take it anymore and snapped, "Cheryl, that's enough! If you say one more word, I swear I'll make you regret it!"
"You're threatening me? I'd like to see you try!" Cheryl raised her hand to slap Christina!
But Christina was ready. She caught Cheryl's hand and swiftly slapped her back.
Cheryl, who always seemed tough but was actually quite fragile, was stunned. "Christina! You bitch! How dare you slap me! I have a film shoot coming up! I'll make you pay for this!" she screamed, lunging at Christina and pulling her hair.
