Chapter 594 Will You Help Me or Not
The singer noticed the comments in the live stream were getting weird, so he stopped playing and singing, and turned to see a kid bawling his eyes out on camera. He put down his guitar and walked over. "Hey dude, what's up?"
Sunny didn't want anyone to see him crying, so he wiped his eyes with his arm. "Nothing. I'm just waiting for someone."
The singer chuckled a bit. "Why are you crying if you're just waiting? Is it 'cause they're not showing up?"
Sunny got pissed. "None of your business! Buzz off and leave me alone!"
The singer, who meant well, felt a bit hurt but figured Sunny might be a runaway. "If you got nowhere to go, why not crash at my place for the night? My stream's almost done anyway."
Sunny, shivering from the cold, was kinda tempted. "Where do you live?"
The singer grinned. "Just around the corner. Hang tight while I pack up my gear, and I'll take you there!"
Sunny didn't argue and got up to help the singer pack. He thought, 'It's gotta be warmer than out here, right? If I sleep on the street, I might freeze to death tonight!'
The singer wrapped up his stream, packed his stuff, then slung his guitar over his shoulder, and smiled. "Let's roll!"
Sunny nodded and followed him out of the underpass, feeling super cold and hungry.
"Hey dude, where you from?" the singer asked as they walked.
"From Janetrick," Sunny replied honestly.
"Did you have a fight with your folks and run away?"
"Something like that!"
The singer shook his head with a smile. "You don't know how lucky you are to have family who cares. You should head back home tomorrow."
Sunny frowned. "Don't you have family?"
The singer gave a bitter smile. "I do, but they never cared about me."
Sunny was confused. "Why?"
The singer didn't say more and pointed to a small alley ahead. "My place is just around the corner!"
Sunny, feeling too cold, sped up, but before he could turn into the alley, a white sports car blocked their way.
The car came so fast it freaked both Sunny and the singer out.
"Who the heck is that? Do you even know how to drive?" Sunny was furious, already in a bad mood.
"It's me!" Ambrosia got out of the car, adjusting her gold-rimmed glasses.
Sunny was first shocked, then annoyed. "What are you doing here? Didn't you say you wouldn't care about me?"
Ambrosia ignored his sulky question and eyed the singer warily. "Who is he? Where are you going with him?"
Sunny said with a sour face, "A nice guy who offered to let me crash at his place for the night!"
Ambrosia frowned, giving him a cold look. "How dare you just go with a stranger? Get in the car!"
Sunny, though tempted to get in the car, still said, "Didn't you say you wouldn't care about me? Why should I get in the car?"
Ambrosia was losing patience. "I'll give you three seconds. If you don't get in, I'm outta here!"
Sunny turned to the confused singer next to him. "Hey, what's your live stream handle?"
The singer snapped out of it and replied, "I go by 'Singing Alone'."
Sunny nodded. "Cool! I'll check out your stream when I get a chance!"
With that, Sunny gave the singer a cocky wave and hopped into the passenger seat of Ambrosia's car.
Ambrosia shot the singer a cold look, then got in and sped off.
On the way, Sunny sat in the passenger seat, head tilted arrogantly, "You're such a hypocrite! You said you wouldn't care about me, but here you are! Just admit you care. I won't laugh at you."
'I didn't want to come, but if Frank hadn't seen the singer's live stream and noticed you crying in the underpass, I wouldn't have come out in the middle of the night! If something happens to you, the Mitchell family will hold me responsible, making things even more complicated. Luckily, my apartment complex is not far, so it only takes about ten minutes to drive over.' Ambrosia thought.
"Hey! Ambrosia, how did you know I was here?" Sunny asked.
Ambrosia focused on driving, ignoring him.
Without an answer, Sunny started imagining. "Did you send people everywhere to search for me, even using satellite tracking?"
Ambrosia smirked. "No."
Sunny said proudly, "Still won't admit you were worried? Then how did you find me?"
Ambrosia said, "Because you were trending on TikTok."
Sunny was stunned. " I didn't do anything, why would I be trending?"
Knowing his phone was dead, Ambrosia tossed her own phone to him. "If you don't believe me, see for yourself!"
Sunny, puzzled, picked up Ambrosia's phone and opened TikTok's trending list, immediately blushing with embarrassment.
"Who posted this?" he asked.
Ambrosia said, "You were crying in the singer's live stream, and someone recorded it and posted it. Sunny, you're probably going viral, and now everyone online is digging into your identity!"
Sunny's face turned grim. He didn't want to become famous this way. "Will Bernard see it?" He was very worried.
Ambrosia said, "Even if Bernard doesn't see it, his people will report it to him."
'This is bad; if Bernard sees it, he will definitely give me a hard time.' Sunny thought.
"Ambrosia, quickly find someone to take down all these trending posts for me," Sunny said anxiously.
Ambrosia turned the steering wheel and drove into the apartment complex. "Do you know how much it costs to take down a trending post? Why should I help you with that?"
Sunny said, "I'll pay you back. Just find someone to delete those videos!"
Ambrosia ignored him, parked the car in the underground garage, and got out.
Sunny quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and followed. "Ambrosia, will you help me or not?"
Ambrosia glanced at him. "Didn't you found The Enigma Club? Can't you handle such a small matter yourself? Do you really need to spend money on it?"
