Chapter 555 Taking a Bath Together
Alex saw she really wasn't into it, sighed, and said, "Alright, I get it. If you're not feeling it, I won't push."
And he really did back off.
Katherine didn't drop her guard though. She raised an eyebrow and shot him a look, "Then why are you still here?"
Alex playfully tapped her nose with his finger, "Didn't you already brush your teeth and wash up? Now it's my turn. You should be the one leaving! Unless you wanna stick around, I don't mind."
As he spoke, Alex started unbuttoning his shirt, showing off his chest.
Seeing this, Katherine quickly slipped out. Knowing Alex, if she stayed a second longer, she'd definitely end up in the shower with him!
Watching her bolt out like she was escaping, Alex smirked. They already had a kid, yet she could still be so shy. How cute!
After running out of the bathroom, Katherine made sure to firmly shut the door to keep Alex from causing more trouble.
Calming down, her eyes dropped a bit. She wasn't exactly thrilled about reuniting with Alex after a short break.
She expected Alex to seriously explain who the woman on the phone was, but he seemed totally unbothered.
He knew she heard the woman's voice.
'Knock, knock!' Katherine had just finished changing. Thinking it was Leander, she didn't think much and went to open the door.
As soon as the door opened, Jonathan's handsome face with his signature smile appeared, "Katherine, good morning!"
Katherine forced a smile, "Morning."
Jonathan chuckled, "Why do you look so tired this early?"
Katherine wasn't in the mood, "Do you need something?"
Jonathan shrugged, "Nothing special; just wanted to see if you'd join me for breakfast!"
Katherine looked uninterested, "Thanks, but if you're hungry, go ahead. I'll eat later."
She was about to close the door, but Jonathan slipped in before she could.
Katherine was annoyed, "Mr. Mostow, what are you doing?"
Jonathan plopped down on a chair, "Just waiting for you to have breakfast together!"
"I told you, I'm not eating now. If you're hungry, go grab something yourself!!" Katherine snapped.
Jonathan, looking like a total rascal, said, "Eating alone is boring. Having breakfast together means we can chat! It's cool, Katherine; I'll wait till you're ready."
Katherine frowned, "Mr. Mostow, hasn't anyone told you that barging into a girl's room early in the morning is super rude and inappropriate?"
Jonathan smiled innocently, "Hmm? I didn't barge in! You opened the door for me."
This guy was the most shameless person she had ever met!
Seeing Katherine's annoyed face, Jonathan chuckled softly, "If you think it's inappropriate and don't want me here, then come have breakfast with me. How about it?"
If it weren't for Alex being in the bathroom, she might've agreed to breakfast with Jonathan right then.
Jonathan had no clue how to avoid looking shady. Early in the morning, if someone saw him in her room, they'd definitely get the wrong idea.
By then, clearing her name would be impossible!
But with Alex back, she had to wait for him to finish his shower.
Katherine frowned, "Sorry, it's really not a good time. Mr. Mostow, you should go have breakfast yourself!"
Thanks to the Mitchell family's Summer Villa having good soundproofing, Jonathan didn't hear any noise from the bathroom. He wasn't planning to give up on inviting Katherine and was about to speak again.
"Charles! What are you doing here? Come out now!" Alice's voice suddenly cut in.
Katherine heard it too and looked towards the door with Jonathan.
Because Jonathan had slipped in, Katherine hadn't closed the door tightly to avoid misunderstandings.
Now, she saw a small head peeking through the door crack, looking both expectant and cautious.
It was Charles.
Katherine was about to speak to Charles when Alice, who was chasing after him, pushed the door open and pulled Charles out! "I told you not to bother strangers! Why don't you listen?"
Charles frowned in frustration and muttered, "Katherine is not a stranger."
Hearing this, Alice got even angrier, "What do you mean not a stranger? I've told you, besidesme and your mom, everyone else is a stranger to you! They all mean you harm. Don't go with strangers! Got it?"
Charles pouted, wanting to argue, but he didn't know how due to his limited language skills.
Katherine stood at the door, watching Charles get scolded by Alice, and narrowed her eyes, "Charles, come here!"
Hearing Katherine's voice, Charles' eyes lit up, and he ran to her, hugging her leg and calling out sweetly, "Katherine."
Katherine bent down to pat his head, her tone gentle, "Up so early? Did you need something?"
Charles shook his head and glanced nervously at Alice. He didn't need anything; he was just terrified of being with his grandmother. Alice had been very irritable these past few days, losing her temper at the slightest thing, and he was very scared.
Katherine naturally understood what Charles was avoiding and couldn't help but feel sorry for the kid.
Then, she looked up at Alice. "Mrs. Mitchell, would you mind if Charles stayed with me for a while?"
Alice looked at her displeased and said, "I think it's better not. Such a small child is very naughty and might disturb you, Ms. Galatea. Charles, come on, let's go have breakfast with me!"
Charles clearly didn't want to go with Alice and instinctively hugged Katherine's leg tighter.
The kid was asking her for help; how could she bear to ignore him?
It seemed that if Alice took the child away, she would definitely scold Charles again.
Katherine smiled, "Mrs. Mitchell, it's okay. I just got up, so I don't mind being disturbed. Charles can keep me company for a while! Mrs. Mitchell, surely you wouldn't mind that?"
Alice's face darkened, "What can a little kid do to keep you entertained? I say forget it!"
