Chapter 329 Sis, Don't Go!

Katherine walked into the hospital and made her way to the inpatient department. In a swanky private room, Sunny lay on the bed, a bandage wrapped around his forehead. Even unconscious, his dark, handsome eyebrows were furrowed, and he looked restless.

Katherine raised an eyebrow at him. "Why isn't he awake yet?"

Ambrosia sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "The doctor said he hit his head pretty hard. He might be out for a while."

Katherine frowned. "How does a grown man manage to run into a door in broad daylight?"

Ambrosia shook her head, still amazed. "Sunny wanted to go to that hacker conference. You asked me to distract him, so I pretended to be feeling a bit under the weather and had him bring me here. When he went downstairs, he ran into a spotless glass door. He was in such a rush he didn't see it and bam! The door shattered. The doctor said it's a miracle his skull wasn’t cracked."

Katherine was speechless, her lips twitching.

She didn't even know what to say to him!

Sunny was kind-hearted but had a bit of an arrogant streak. He was impulsive but genuinely simple-minded.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have been in such a hurry for a stranger and ended up running into a door.

That's also why, despite Sunny causing her trouble several times for his sister, she didn't really dislike him.

Unlike Bernard. She genuinely disliked Bernard!

Ambrosia looked guilty. "Katherine, it's my fault. My negligence got him hurt."

Katherine turned to Ambrosia and gently patted her face. "It's not your fault. I've seen his stupidity before. It's his own fault for being so reckless. Alright, Ambrosia, take it easy. I'll handle things here."

Ambrosia smiled, looking at Katherine with a mix of reverence and respect, along with a familial sense of reliance and comfort.

She had some company matters to attend to and nodded. "Okay. Katherine, I'll leave now and come back to pick you up tonight. We'll head back to the hotel together and return to Janetrick tomorrow morning."

Katherine responded with a light, "Hmm," and watched Ambrosia leave the room.

With just her and the unconscious Sunny left, Katherine pulled a chair over, sat by the bed, and started scrolling through her phone while keeping an eye on him.

She thought, by now, Lion should have sobered up and left the hotel on his own, right?

Hopefully, nothing unexpected happened on his end.

A few hours passed without her noticing.

"Sis..."

The boy on the bed suddenly murmured weakly.

"Hmm?" Katherine raised an eyebrow, her gaze shifting from her phone to Sunny's youthful, handsome face.

"Sis..."

The silly boy still had his eyes closed, frowning and calling for his sister.

Katherine reached out and not-so-gently patted his face. "Wake up! Go home and find your sister!"

Sunny didn't wake up, but his frown deepened as if he was worried about something in his dream. Suddenly, he grabbed Katherine's hand. "Sis, don't go!"

Katherine knew the sister he was calling for was Scarlett, but when this kid grabbed her like a lifeline, she couldn't help but be taken aback.

"I'm not your sister. Wake up! Look at who I am!"

Sunny shook his head in his sleep. "Sis... I didn't let you down. I just... just hope you wouldn't always go after always target Katherine. She is actually a good person."

Katherine was momentarily stunned.

Was this silly boy actually speaking up for her in his dream?

"Sis, no!"

Sunny woke up with a start, his face covered in cold sweat, still in shock.

Katherine sat beside him, squinting at him. "Awake now?"

Sunny came to his senses, looked at Katherine in confusion, then glanced around the room and finally looked down at his hospital gown, puzzled. "Why am I here?"

Katherine told him the truth. "You got hurt. You ran into a door."

Sunny was stunned. Remembering what happened before he passed out, his face turned red with embarrassment. After all, running into a door sounded pretty dumb.

"I... I made a mistake... Ahem, where's that woman?"

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Which woman?"

"The woman I brought in with the asthma attack?"

"She was treated and is fine now. She had to leave and asked me to thank you for her."

Sunny arrogantly raised his chin. "See? I got hurt because I was in a hurry to save someone!"

Katherine smiled lightly. "Yes, I know. Sunny saved a life, a true hero!"

Sunny felt a bit of his dignity restored and wasn't as embarrassed anymore. But then he noticed something odd and looked at Katherine curiously.

"Katherine, how did you know I was in this hospital?"

Katherine paused for two seconds and then made up a story. "The hospital and the traffic system used data analysis to find out we had interacted at the airport, so they called me."

Sunny looked innocent and impressed. "Wow, finding people is so high-tech now!"

Katherine teased with a smile. "Young man, you should read more books, or you'll get left behind!"

Sunny retorted with a scoff.

Katherine got up, poured him a glass of water, and handed it over. "What were you dreaming about just now? You looked terrified."

Thinking about the dream, Sunny took the glass and frowned, still shaken. "I dreamt... I dreamt Scarlett fought with you over Alex, and... she got so emotional that she stabbed you! It almost freaked me out."

Katherine fell silent.

Sunny quickly defended his sister. "It was just a dream. Scarlett isn't like that!"

Katherine smiled indifferently. "Really?"

Sunny nodded vigorously. "Of course! She is the best! But Scarlett really likes Alex. Please don't compete with her! Otherwise, who knows what she might do!"

Katherine sat down, yawned, and lazily crossed her legs. "Am I competing with her? I left the Melville family a long time ago, remember?"

Sunny pouted. "You left, but your influence is still there!"

Katherine raised an eyebrow. "Influence? What influence?"

Sunny snorted, "Of course, the influence you left in Alex's heart!"

Hearing this, Katherine paused, her eyes flickering. "What influence? I don't know about that."
