Chapter 875 Don't Want to Go Back
Brent was about to go out to meet an old friend when he saw Sophia pushing that son-in-law he despised. His face immediately turned sour.
Seeing that Brent ignored her, Sophia took the initiative to ease the tension, "Dad, Trevor and I are taking Julian out for a walk. Do you want to join us?"
Brent replied, "It doesn't seem like you really want me to come along!"
Sophia said, "Why would you say that? If you want to go for a walk, we can all go together!"
Brent waved his hand, "Forget it, you guys go ahead."
With that, Brent turned and walked towards the elevator with a few of his men.
Sophia lowered her head and sighed helplessly.
These past few days, her relationship with Brent had become increasingly strained. She wondered when Brent would transfer all his assets to her.
Not wanting to fall into another deadlock with Brent, Sophia deliberately slowed her pace, pushing Trevor slowly towards the elevator and waiting for the next one.
On the way, Trevor spoke up, "What's going on between you and your dad?"
Sophia snapped back to reality and explained nonchalantly, "Nothing, Trevor. Don't overthink it."
Trevor squinted his eyes, "I remember your dad always doted on you, but recently that seems to have changed. Did something happen?"
Even Trevor could see the significant change in Brent's attitude towards her, which made Sophia even more worried about her inheritance.
She guessed that Nora and Linda must have said something to Brent, causing his attitude towards her to change so drastically!
Nora and Linda were such bitches!
"Trevor, nothing happened! My dad's just been in a bad mood because of Nora and Linda leaving, so he's been a bit harsh."
Trevor's lips curled slightly, "Really? I thought it was my presence that was making things worse between you and your dad."
Sophia quickly denied, "Of course not! Trevor, my dad supports us, really!"
The elevator had just arrived and opened. Sophia pushed Trevor in, and Julian obediently followed.
The elevator doors closed, leaving just the three of them in silence.
After a while, Trevor spoke again, "If your dad firmly opposed us and made you choose between the inheritance and me, what would you choose?"
Sophia was taken aback and forced a laugh, "Trevor, what are you talking about? Brent would never do that to me. You know he loves me the most."
"What if..."
Sophia was unwilling to face the hypothetical, "There won't be such a 'what if,' and I won't allow it to happen!"
Trevor chuckled lightly, "So, it's hard for you to choose between me and money."
Sophia caught the implication in Trevor's tone, "Trevor, why are you bringing this up? Life isn't a multiple-choice question! I would choose you, but I won't give up my inheritance. It's rightfully mine! Besides, without money, how can I ensure a good life for you and Julian?"
Trevor said nothing more, and the elevator doors opened, "Let's go."
Sophia pushed him out, feeling uneasy, pondering what Trevor's question really meant.
They got into the RV and arrived at a famous scenic spot in Janetrick called Silvershade Vale.
Sophia was willing to take Trevor and Julian out for a walk because she had already bought plane tickets for three days later, planning to take them back to Markovia early.
Regardless of whether things with Brent were resolved, she had to take Trevor away immediately. Tomorrow, she would go to the hospital for an artificial insemination procedure, rest for two days, and then they could return to Markovia!
Before leaving, she wanted to enjoy Janetrick one last time, as they likely wouldn't return.
The vehicle stopped on a green field in Silvershade Vale. Sophia pushed Trevor out of the car and took a deep breath of fresh air, "Trevor, the air here is much better than in the city, but it's still no match for Markovia."
Trevor glanced around the scenery indifferently, ignoring her.
Julian, however, couldn't hold back, "Sophia, how can you tell the air here isn't as good as in Markovia? Do you have some kind of air detector in your nose? I actually think the air here is much better."
Julian's words made Sophia's face darken, but she couldn't scold him in front of Trevor. She forced a smile, "Julian, Markovia's environment is renowned, and the air is naturally better than other countries!"
Julian rolled his eyes disdainfully, "Daddy and I are from this country, and we think the air here is fresher!"
Julian's disrespectful attitude made Sophia grit her teeth, "Alright, alright, we're here to have fun, so let's not talk about unpleasant things! Julian, help me with the bag. I'll push your dad over there to take a look!"
Julian glared at her, "You carry the bag yourself! I'll push Daddy!" With that, Julian shoved Sophia aside and pushed Trevor's wheelchair forward.
Sophia stood there glaring at the unlikable Julian, cursing him silently.
'Just wait,' she thought. 'Once I get pregnant with Trevor's child, you, with all your disrespect and troublemaking, will finally get what you deserve.'
Julian pushed Trevor to a farther green field, taking a deep breath of the fresh air, thinking it was much better without Sophia's tacky perfume scent!
Trevor looked at the familiar scenery with a serious expression.
Julian muttered, "Daddy, I don't want to go back to Markovia. What should I do?"
Trevor snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Julian, "Why?"
"If we go back to Markovia, I won't be able to see Mommy anymore, so I don't want to go."
Mentioning Katherine brought a warm look to Trevor's eyes, "You like her that much?"
Julian nodded vigorously. "Yes! I like her! I want to live with her."
Trevor gently patted Julian's head. "Don't worry, we won't leave. You'll live with her, and so will I."
Julian looked up at Trevor with surprise and disbelief.
