Chapter 334 Get Rid of the Baby in Your Belly

Katherine thought, 'Bernard wants to talk to me alone now? What's he got to say?'

She wasn't thrilled about having a talk with Bernard.

Since she already knew Sunny's blood type matched, there was no point wasting time with Bernard.

Sunny was straightforward and willing to donate blood. But getting a slippery guy like Bernard to donate? That'd be a nightmare.

"Whatever you want to talk about, let's do it another day! I don't have time right now."

Katherine brushed Bernard off and turned to Sunny. "If we wait any longer, it'll be too late. Let's go!"

Sunny wanted to follow her, but Bernard's stare pinned him in place.

Seeing Sunny frozen, Katherine frowned and glared at Bernard.

"Without my permission, he won't dare go with you," Bernard said, cool and composed. "Ms. Galatea, you have two choices: talk to me or leave."

With no other option, Katherine sighed and gritted her teeth. "Fine, I'll talk to you!"

Bernard smiled, satisfied. "Very well, come with me."

Katherine followed him out of the hospital room.

Sunny was left behind, anxious and helpless, not daring to follow.

"Bernard, we're short on time. Say what you need to say quickly," Katherine said.

"Alright." Bernard squinted at her. "You said the hospital won't draw more blood from you because you're pregnant, right?"

Katherine was stunned into silence.

How did Bernard know she was pregnant?

But thinking about it, it wasn't that surprising.

After leaving the Ayers family, Alex had taken her to the hospital for a pregnancy test, making a big scene.

With Bernard's status, suspicious nature, and Scarlett whispering in his ear, it would've been easy for him to find out.

Katherine didn't answer, but Bernard didn't care. He already knew.

Now, he just wanted to use this to negotiate with Katherine.

"Sunny's injured and can't donate blood."

Katherine frowned. "He doesn't need to donate much. I've already donated some. He just needs to donate half as much; it won't harm his health."

Bernard remained unmoved. "That's still not acceptable."

Katherine stared into his cold eyes, seeing no hope.

Forget it. She wouldn't count on the Mitchell brothers; she'd find another way.

"He can't, but I can."

Just as Katherine was about to leave, Bernard added.

Katherine stopped, surprised and cautious.

Would someone like Bernard really donate blood?

"I also have RH-negative blood. I can go with you to donate," Bernard said.

"Just say it. What's the condition?" Katherine asked, getting straight to the point.

Bernard would only do something for an outsider with conditions.

Katherine guessed right; there was a condition.

Bernard looked down at her, a mysterious smile on his face.

"It's simple. Agree to have an abortion, and I'll donate as much blood as needed."

Katherine's expression darkened. "Why do you want me to have an abortion?"

Bernard smiled. "You and I both know whose child you're carrying. I won't let you give birth to anything that could threaten Scarlett's family's happiness."

Katherine was speechless.

The irony in her heart felt like a cold wind, bringing a painful chill.

She thought of the little girl crying uncontrollably outside the emergency room.

Katherine took a deep breath. "Fine, I agree."

Bernard smiled, satisfied. "Katherine, you're very straightforward. I believe you'll keep your word. Let's go."

Katherine nodded and quickly led him to the elevator.

Bernard followed her into the elevator, heading to the blood donation room downstairs.

Inside the elevator, it was just the two of them, unusually quiet.

"Who was in the car accident?" Bernard broke the silence.

"I don't know," Katherine replied flatly.

Bernard was momentarily stunned, looking at her in disbelief. "You don't know them? You're in such a hurry for someone you don't know? And you agreed to my condition?"

Katherine glanced at him. "The child is only five or six years old, very pitiful. If she loses her mother at such a young age, her life will be very difficult. I want to help her if I can."

These words touched Bernard's cold heart.

He thought of his sister, lost and unknown.

Was their mother still alive? Was she leaving his sister to struggle alone?

Bernard was lost in thought. Before this, he didn't believe anyone would care so much about a stranger's life.

Most of the good deeds reported in the news, he thought, were mostly for show.

"Why aren't you coming out? Are you regretting it?"

The elevator doors had opened. Katherine, after stepping out, noticed Bernard still inside, lost in thought. She frowned and asked.

Bernard snapped out of it and stepped out of the elevator. "No, I keep my promises."

"That's good."

In the blood donation room, the nurse was surprised that Katherine had found a donor so quickly, and such a handsome one at that.

After a few seconds of being stunned, the nurse regained her composure, feeling a bit embarrassed. She quickly put on a professional demeanor and drew a small blood sample from Bernard to test his blood type.

Soon, the results came back.

"This gentleman's blood type is a match; he can donate."

Bernard elegantly rolled up his shirt sleeve and extended his arm to the nurse.

The nurse, being so close to such a handsome man for the first time, tried to control her girlish fantasies. After setting up the blood draw, she forced herself to look away from his breathtakingly handsome face.

"Thank you, Ms. Galatea. RH-negative blood is very hard to find. Without your help, we wouldn't have found a donor so quickly! Now, the car accident victim has a chance."

Katherine shook her head lightly. "It's nothing, as long as we can save a life."

Linda, hearing that her mother was saved, wiped her tears with her arm and gratefully took Katherine's hand. "Sis, thank you for finding blood for my mom!"

Katherine looked down at her. "Don't thank me. Thank the donor."

Linda nodded and turned to the man still donating blood. "Sir, thank you for donating blood for my mom! When I grow up, I will repay you!"

Bernard just nodded slightly. "No need to repay me, just thank the sis beside you."

After a while, the blood draw was complete.

The nurse hurriedly took the blood bag to the emergency room.

After donating blood, Bernard threw the cotton ball into the trash, slowly rolled down his sleeve, and stood up. He felt dizzy like never before and frowned, thinking that if he felt this way after donating blood, how much worse would it be for Katherine?

Then, Bernard looked at Katherine with a complex expression and asked, somewhat puzzled, "You're pregnant and still insist on donating blood. Aren't you afraid of harming your health?"
