Chapter 11 She Can't Really Dare to Undress
Leander, sitting in the passenger seat, had a complex expression. Out of politeness and respect, he gestured for the driver to pull over and then got out of the car with the driver, standing at a distance.
Katherine's face was tense as she grabbed the hem of her white t-shirt and slowly pulled it up.
Alexander lazily supported his forehead with his hand, looking at her with indifference, his eyes carrying some deep meaning.
It was at Apricot Group.
The company's general manager, Gavin, made a mistake in choosing employees and abused his power to bring Ruth into the company. As a result, Henry severely reprimanded him.
Henry made a demand. If Gavin couldn't find a way to salvage today's losses, which led to the failure of this project and the collaboration with the Melville Group, he would be dismissed just like Ruth!
Gavin was extremely anxious. He drove out to seek help and find a solution.
Troubled by not knowing how to save his job, Gavin unexpectedly saw Alexander's car parked on the side of the road.
He thought Alexander had already returned to his company.
Gavin felt a glimmer of hope!
He planned to seize the opportunity to explain to Alexander the reasons for the failed plan and try to salvage some of the losses!
Thinking this, Gavin quickly parked his car not far away and hurriedly ran towards the black Mercedes-Benz commercial van ahead.
This top-of-the-line Mercedes had very dark tinted windows, making it impossible for people to see inside from the outside.
Gavin cautiously asked through the car window, "Mr. Melville? Are you in the car, Mr. Melville?"
The high-quality car had excellent sealing and sound insulation, so Gavin's voice didn't reach inside.
Gavin wondered, 'Is there nobody in the car? Is Mr. Melville not inside? Where did he go?'
Gavin looked around but didn't see anyone nearby. So, he placed his hand on the door handle and tried to pull it.
At that moment, Alexander was sitting in the car, his expression indifferent. He had no intention of stopping Katherine.
And Katherine had no intention of compromising with Alexander!
She had just been bullied by Alexander's sister this morning, and if she didn't show her strong attitude now, the Melville family would treat her badly for the next three months.
Katherine gritted her teeth and pushed the t-shirt up.
Fortunately, she was wearing a vest inside. Although the fabric of the clothes was thin, it wasn't too revealing!
Alexander furrowed his brow tightly!
He didn't expect Katherine to really take off her clothes.
Suddenly, the car door was pulled open. Sunlight and cold air rushed in at the same time.
Before Katherine could react, she was forcefully pulled away by a strong force!
Everything went black before her eyes. The pleasant scent of Alexander's cologne mixed with the tobacco smell entered her nose. Her heart pounded.
Alexander reacted swiftly. In an instant, he grabbed his jacket that was lying nearby and wrapped Katherine's body with it.
He held her close, preventing her exposed body from being seen by others.
After Gavin opened the car door, he saw Alexander holding a woman in his arms.
The woman's face was buried in Alexander's chest, and she was wearing the man's clothes, revealing two attractive legs.
Gavin's mouth fell open in shock.
He immediately realized that he had seen something he shouldn't have, and it made him break out in a cold sweat.
"Sorry, Mr. Melville! I just called for you outside, but I didn't hear any response, so I..."
Alexander held the person tightly in his arms, raised his head coldly, and said, "Leave!"
Gavin quickly closed the car door, nervously wiping the sweat from his forehead, feeling extremely uneasy.
He thought, 'I've disturbed Mr. Melville and ruined the fun. I'm definitely in trouble.'
Katherine was being held so tightly that she could hardly breathe.
She struggled for a moment before managing to pull her head out of Alexander's jacket. Frowning, she asked, "What are you doing?"
Alexander lowered his head and looked at Katherine in his arms. Beneath her thick eyelashes, her big eyes were filled with displeasure.
He thought, 'She's still not happy? If I hadn't helped her, her body would have been exposed! She would have been so embarrassed.'
Alexander snapped back to reality, his face darkening. He let go of her and sternly commanded, "Put your clothes on immediately! You are now my wife, and your every word and action represent the dignity of the Melville family. Don't ever do anything that tarnishes the reputation of the Melville family, like casually taking off your clothes!"
He believed that she had tarnished the reputation of the Melville family.
Wasn't it he who asked her to take off her clothes?
Katherine sneered, "So, does that mean you gave your permission? Can I wear your clothes now?"
Alexander furrowed slightly, unable to help but show a faint smile. He thought, 'She's really out for revenge!'
"Yes!"
Katherine snorted and moved aside to put on her clothes.
Alexander didn't look at her again. He turned his head, got up, and slammed the car door shut!
Gavin was carefully explaining to Leander, "Mr. Nelson, I really didn't mean to. You have to help me explain to Mr. Melville."
When he heard the sound of a car door, Leander looked up and saw Alexander approaching. "Mr. Melville..."
Gavin trembled in fear and quickly turned around to apologize to Alexander.
"Mr. Melville, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to open the car door and look."
Alexander coldly interrogated, "What did you see?"
Gavin hesitated for a moment and shook his head repeatedly. "I didn't see anything! I didn't see anything at all."
Leander took a step forward and apologized, "Mr. Melville, Ms. Melville just called, and I went to answer the call. I didn't notice anyone approaching the car. I'm sorry, it was my negligence!"
Alexander glanced at Leander indifferently but didn't say anything.
He lowered his head to light a cigarette, then turned to look at Gavin and asked, "Why did you rush to find me? What's the matter?"
Gavin hurriedly said, "Mr. Melville, I'm Gavin Scott from Apricot Group. We just met at the company! I'm here to explain about the flawed plan you saw today. It was altered by one of our interns for personal gain, and it doesn't represent the true capabilities of our company. I hope you can give us another chance to showcase our abilities."
Alexander took a drag of his cigarette, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "Someone altered the plan? Was it the intern who knows how to fix computers?"
Gavin hesitated for a moment and awkwardly shook his head.
"No, it was someone else! But now both of those interns have been fired, and we guarantee that there won't be any more mistakes! Mr. Melville, do you have any time..."
'Katherine was fired?' Alexander thought.
He fell silent for a moment and glanced at the back seat of the car.
"I don't have time."
Alexander gestured to Leander with his eyes. He guessed that Katherine was almost done changing, so he turned and got into the car.
Gavin anxiously followed him and said, "Mr. Melville! This project is really great. Please give me a little time, just twenty minutes."
Leander, with a stern face, blocked Gavin. He warned, "Mr. Scott, Mr. Melville doesn't have time to talk to you now. If you disturb him again, you will have a terrible fate."
Gavin was taken aback and dared not follow any further.
He retreated to the side of the road to see Alexander off. The top-of-the-line Mercedes slowly drove away in front of him.
Gavin thought, 'There is a woman waiting in the car for Mr. Melville now. He definitely doesn't have time to talk to me. I can only find another opportunity another day.'
Katherine felt suffocated in the car and rolled down the window to breathe fresh air.
In that instant, Gavin was stunned, thinking he must be seeing things.
The woman in Alexander's car looked very much like Katherine, who had just been fired today!
