Chapter 958 The Single Man at Home

Melinda, who was brought to the blind date by her parents, was instantly captivated when she saw Bernard. Blushing, she stood up and shyly extended a hand towards Bernard.

"Hi, my name is Melinda."

"Hello, please sit down!" Bernard just nodded and did not shake her hand.

Melinda felt a bit awkward, withdrew her hand reluctantly, and sat back down.

Hellen and Vincent exchanged glances, feeling speechless about their unromantic grandson.

Bernard sat alone on a single sofa, chatting leisurely with Melinda's family in a gentlemanly and elegant manner, neither too warm nor too cold, polite yet distant, until Melinda's family felt there was no possibility and found an excuse to leave.

After reluctantly seeing them off, Hellen and Vincent turned back and glared angrily at Bernard!

Hellen said angrily, "Bernard, you are so unromantic, Melinda is such a nice girl, and you didn't even smile at her!"

Bernard was not very interested, "Grandma, I'm just not looking to get married right now. You and Grandpa need to stop setting me up on blind dates!"

Vincent snorted and complained, "Then when do you plan to get married? Are you going to stay single for life? You're over thirty. Sunny and Laura both have partners now, and you're the only single one left in the family! As their older brother, don't you feel ashamed?"

Bernard said, "I think my current lifestyle is just fine, why should I feel ashamed?"

"You brat..." Hellen suddenly clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.

Seeing this, Bernard quickly got up to support her, "Grandma, are you okay? Quick, get Grandma's heart medicine!"

Hellen stubbornly said, "No need to get me the medicine! Even if you get it, I won't take it!"

Bernard frowned, "Grandma, you have a heart condition, how can you not take your medicine?"

Hellen said with resentment, "My biggest worry is you not getting married, and no medicine can fix that! Bernard, if you don't want us to set you up on blind dates, you need to bring home a decent girlfriend within a month. Otherwise, I won't take my medication anymore, and I'll just let myself go!"

Bernard helplessly said, "Grandma, you..."

Hellen didn't give him a chance to make excuses, "Let's go, Vincent. If we don't meet his girlfriend, we're done with this kid!"

Vincent supported Hellen back to their room, giving Bernard a disappointed look.

Watching the stubborn backs of Vincent and Hellen, Bernard rubbed his temples in frustration.

The next day.

At Janetrick, a bar.

"Come on! Drink up, if you don't, you're not showing me any respect!"

Cheryl Russell pushed Christina Russell's hand, urging her to drink the alcohol in the glass.

After swallowing a mouthful of strong liquor, Christina felt like her throat was on fire. "Cheryl, I can't drink anymore."

"You promised to come drinking with me, and you've only had a few glasses! Christina, I just broke up with my boyfriend and I'm really upset, can't you keep me company properly? Do you have to make me feel worse?" Saying this, Cheryl picked up the bottle and poured more alcohol.

Christina didn't dare offend Cheryl, knowing that if she did, her mother would have a hard time at home.

"Alright, Cheryl, but this will be my last glass."

Cheryl's eyes twinkled, and she picked up another type of alcohol and poured it in, "Fine, just one last glass!"

Looking at the full glass in front of her, Christina sighed and tilted her head back to drink it.

As the alcohol went down, a feeling of nausea surged up her throat, and Christina couldn't control it, vomiting directly into the trash can. She continued to cough uncontrollably.

"Are you okay, Christina?" Cheryl pretended to be concerned, sitting beside her, but her eyes showed a hint of disdain, "Christina, you really don't look well! I've booked a room at the hotel, let me take you there to rest!"

"Okay," Christina responded dizzily, letting Cheryl support her.

Cheryl helped Christina to the twentieth floor of the bar's hotel. Just as they exited the elevator, Cheryl's agent called.

She was still an unknown artist, so she didn't dare ignore the agent's call.

"Christina, my agent has something urgent, the room key is here, you go ahead, I'll come to find you as soon as I'm done!" Saying this hurriedly, Cheryl handed the hotel room key to Christina and turned to leave.

"So hot, why is it so hot?" Christina leaned against the wall, staggering forward, her vision becoming increasingly blurry.

She tried to read the room number on the key, "2, 2006."

With her last bit of consciousness, she walked forward and found room 2006.

However, she swiped the key card several times without opening the door.

"What a lousy door!" Christina kicked the door a few times, and it surprisingly opened!

Christina lost her balance and fell forward, expecting to hit the ground but instead landing on a warm, solid body!

She looked up and saw a man, a very handsome man.

In her drunken state, she lost her usual restraint and smiled, captivated by his looks, "Handsome!"

The drunken Christina boldly wrapped her arms around the man's neck, smiling as she leaned in, "Handsome, why are you in my room?"

"Who are you?"

The man's deep voice sounded in her ear, his cheeks slightly red, and he reeked of alcohol.

"Guess who I am?" Christina leaned against the man, feeling unbearably hot, "It's so hot, so hot."

Christina uncomfortably tugged at her clothes.

As the man looked down, he unintentionally caught sight of her bare shoulder. His blood rushed, and he lost all reason, leaning in to kiss her.

"You came to me yourself today, don't regret it!"

Christina couldn't react in time, her mouth was sealed.

What happened next, Christina couldn't remember. She only felt herself lying on a soft bed, completely drained of strength.

Meanwhile.

Cheryl returned after her call, not finding Christina, assuming she had entered room 2009 with the key, and left with a satisfied smile.

She had tricked Christina into coming here to take her place and do whatever it took to please Hudson Graves. As long as Christina could satisfy him, the lead role in the next hit drama would be Cheryl's!
