Chapter 814 No Chance for Jealousy
Sunny sat next to Ambrosia without feeling awkward at all. He put his arm around Ambrosia's shoulder and said, "Trying to outdo us in being lovey-dovey? I guarantee you can't beat us!"
Ambrosia pushed him away in disgust. "Go bother someone else!"
Sunny, used to being dismissed, shrugged. "How can I be lovey-dovey without you?"
Ambrosia simply ignored him.
Katherine looked at the two couples, both worried and concerned.
She thought for a moment and then asked Teresa, "Do your parents know about your wedding plans?"
As Katherine asked again, Frank finally let go of Teresa so she could properly answer Katherine.
After sitting up straight, Teresa shyly nodded and said, "Yes, they know."
Frank also smiled confidently. "Not only do they know, but they also like me as their son-in-law!"
Katherine glanced at Frank skeptically and then looked at Teresa. "Really? Your parents have met Frank?"
Teresa replied honestly, "Yes, Katherine! My parents have met Frank and they approve of our marriage."
After understanding the situation, Katherine wasn't surprised. Frank gave off a very gentlemanly and polite vibe, always smiling. People who didn't know him well, especially elders, would naturally like him.
"As long as your parents agree, go ahead and prepare for the wedding."
After saying this, Katherine stood up and started to walk out.
Seeing her leave, Frank and Ambrosia almost spoke in unison.
"Katherine, where are you going?"
"Katherine, where are you headed?"
Without turning back, Katherine waved her hand. "I'm going back to the Melville Manor; the kids are waiting for me at home!"
Frank got up and followed her, grabbing her arm. "Katherine, don't go! It's rare for you to come back; let's have a meal together!"
Katherine replied, "No, you guys eat. It's the weekend, and I want to spend time with the kids."
Frank sighed dramatically, "Ever since Katherine had kids, she doesn't care about Ambrosia and me anymore!"
Katherine frowned and looked at him disdainfully. "If I didn't care about you, would I have come over early in the morning?"
Frank said, "Since you care about us, let's gather today and have a meal together! Katherine, you can also give us some advice for our wedding!"
Katherine wasn't interested. "It's your wedding; handle it yourselves!"
Frank didn't let go. "No, Katherine, you're my most important family member. I need you."
Ambrosia walked over. "Yes, Katherine, no matter what, stay and have a meal with us. You don't have to go to the office today!"
Katherine looked at Ambrosia with some hesitation. "But..."
Ambrosia understood Katherine's concern. "Katherine, if you stay, I can go pick up the kids from the Melville Manor."
Sunny chimed in, "Yeah! Ambrosia and I can go pick up the kids! Katherine, let's all gather together; the kids love the fun too!"
Teresa also nodded. "Katherine, stay and have a meal with us!"
Seeing their insistence, Katherine found it hard to refuse. Thinking about George, Edith, and Charles at home, who indeed liked lively gatherings, she nodded. "Alright, fine!"
Frank smiled. "That's more like it! Katherine, your world can't just revolve around the Melville family and the kids; you need us too!"
Ambrosia said to Frank, "Take good care of Katherine with your fiancée Teresa. I'll go to the Melville Manor to pick up the kids!"
With that, Ambrosia walked towards the door to get the car keys.
Sunny immediately followed. "Wait, Ambrosia, I'll go with you!"
Ambrosia didn't wait for him but didn't stop him from following either.
Watching them leave, Frank put his arm around Katherine's shoulder. "Katherine, do you think Ambrosia and Sunny will get married after Teresa and me?"
Katherine squinted her eyes. Maybe!
Sunny was serious about Ambrosia, but whether Ambrosia was willing to marry him was unknown.
Just as she was about to call Fiona to inform her that Ambrosia and Sunny would pick up the kids and have them dressed and ready, a call came in.
It was Bernard.
"Katherine, where are you?" he asked.
Katherine remembered Bernard had gone abroad to meet someone, and her heart tightened. "Mr. Mitchell, are you back? Did you meet that person?"
Bernard responded, "Yeah, where are you? I'll come to talk to you in person."
Feeling complicated, Katherine told Bernard her location and then became somewhat absent-minded.
She wanted to know the answer but was afraid it wouldn't be what she hoped for.
Frank and Teresa exchanged a glance, both noticing Katherine's unusual state after the call.
Frank cautiously asked, "Katherine, was that Bernard on the phone?"
Katherine snapped back to reality and nodded.
Teresa asked, "Katherine, what did Bernard say that made you so concerned?"
Katherine waved her hand. "Nothing much. Just let me know when Mr. Mitchell arrives. I'll be in my room resting for a bit."
With that, she walked to her usual room and closed the door.
Frank and Teresa looked at each other.
"What happened?" Teresa asked.
Frank patted Teresa's shoulder. "Katherine probably just got up too early and is a bit tired."
Teresa tilted her head. Really? Katherine was just tired?
Why did it seem like Katherine became very preoccupied after that call?
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang.
Frank opened the door to find Bernard standing there, looking travel-worn. "Where's Katherine?"
Frank stepped aside to let him in. "Katherine is resting in the room. Mr. Mitchell, please come in. I'll call her for you."
Bernard nodded and walked in. Seeing Teresa, he nodded slightly as a greeting and then followed Frank to Katherine's room.
Frank knocked on Katherine's door. "Katherine, Mr. Mitchell is here."
After a few seconds, the door opened, and Katherine stood there looking calm. She looked past Frank at Bernard. "Mr. Mitchell, come in and let's talk."
Bernard looked at Katherine and stepped inside. Katherine then closed the door.
Frank stood at the door, feeling complicated. What was it between Katherine and Bernard that he couldn't hear?
Teresa walked over, looking at the closed door, and sighed. "If Uncle Alex were still here, he'd be jealous again! He couldn't stand Katherine being too close to other men. But unfortunately, he doesn't even have the chance to be jealous now!"
