Chapter 601 Bustling
At that moment, the secretary knocked on the door. Ambrosia snapped out of her daydream and said, "Come in."
The female secretary pushed the door open and walked in, handing over a neatly organized document. "Ms. Hawthorne, here's the document you wanted."
Ambrosia nodded. "Just leave it there."
After doing as instructed, the secretary added, "Ms. Hawthorne, Mr. Sunny Mitchell is here to see you again. Should I let him in?"
Hearing that Sunny was here, Ambrosia felt a wave of annoyance. "Yeah, let him in."
'If I don't let him in, he'll just hang around outside my office, and that's even worse if my team sees him,' Ambrosia thought.
"Okay," The secretary said and left.
In no time, Sunny strolled in and plopped down on the chair in front of Ambrosia's desk. "Ambrosia, it's almost lunchtime. What are we doing for lunch later?"
Ambrosia looked at him with a blank expression. "Who said I'm having lunch with you?"
Sunny replied, "I said I'm having lunch with you!"
Ambrosia raised an eyebrow coldly. "Are you ordering me?"
Sunny frowned, but his tone softened noticeably. "I managed to sneak out during lunch break just to see you. Can't you at least have lunch with me?"
Ambrosia said, "I don't have time. Go eat by yourself."
Sunny stood up angrily, walked over, and placed his hands on either side of Ambrosia's office chair, trapping her in between.
Although he was young, Sunny had a significant height advantage. He glared down at her. "It's just lunch; it won't take long! Ambrosia, don't make me beg you!"
Seeing Sunny's serious expression, Ambrosia, who initially wanted to ignore him, burst into laughter. "Do you want to have lunch, or have sex with me?"
Sunny blushed, and his eyes flickered with embarrassment. "Of course, I want both, but I know you'll only have lunch with me!"
Ambrosia tapped his head with the document in her hand. "Good that you know!"
Sunny blinked and asked, "So, you're agreeing to have lunch with me, right?"
Ambrosia nodded helplessly. "I'm hungry too. Let's get back to work afterward."
Sunny, delighted, leaned in and gave Ambrosia a light kiss on the cheek. "I know you can't refuse me!"
Ambrosia froze for a moment, then pushed him away with a cold expression and stood up. "Lunch is lunch. Don't act like a rascal! Let's go!"
Sunny scratched his head and followed Ambrosia out of her office.
Ambrosia's office wasn't far from Frank's. As they walked out, Ambrosia saw Frank standing at his office door, staring blankly at the empty secretary's desk, which belonged to Teresa, but she hadn't come to work for a long time.
Ambrosia walked over and waved her hand in front of Frank. "What are you thinking about? Join us for lunch?"
Frank snapped back to reality, looked at Ambrosia, then at Sunny behind her, and replied, "No, thanks. I'll just eat at the cafeteria later."
Ambrosia said, "Alright!"
With that, she led Sunny towards the elevator.
Frank glanced at the empty secretary's desk one more time before heading back to his office.
Ambrosia drove Sunny to a swanky restaurant. It wasn't easy for him to sneak out from home to see her, so she figured she’d treat him to something nice.
As soon as they walked in, they ran into someone they knew.
Alex was also dining there, and Sophia, sitting across from him, was dressed super provocatively. They were chatting and eating like they were in their own little world.
Ambrosia narrowed her eyes, a look of disdain flashing in them as she thought, 'Looks like Alex is having a blast with his wife. Yet, he still won't leave Katherine alone. Why does he keep bothering her? Can't he just be happy with his wife? If he did, Katherine wouldn't have to keep hiding from him!'
Ambrosia had no plans to say hi to Alex. They weren't close, and apart from the Melville Group Tower project, they had no other connections. But she forgot Sunny was with her.
As soon as Sunny saw Alex, he raised his arm and waved. "Mr. Melville, you're eating here too!"
Alex looked over at them when he heard Sunny's voice.
Ambrosia couldn't pretend she didn't see him, so she nodded politely.
Sunny, lacking any sense of timing, pulled her over. "Mr. Melville, my girlfriend and I are here for lunch too!"
Alex's expression stayed indifferent as he glanced at Ambrosia and then back at Sunny. "Does Bernard know about your girlfriend?"
Sunny frowned in frustration. "Bernard knows, but he doesn't approve of me dating. But I don't listen to him. I'm not a kid anymore. I can listen to him about other things, but I want to make my own decisions about this."
Alex's eyes held a hint of meaning, but he said nothing more and went back to cutting his steak.
Sophia giggled. "Mr. Mitchell, you're willing to go against your family for love. Your girlfriend must feel very secure!"
Sunny looked at Sophia. It wasn't his first time seeing her, but he wasn't familiar with her. He only knew that Sophia was a long-time friend of Alex. Hilton and Issac also knew her.
Instinctively, Sunny didn't like her and ignored her.
"Let's go," Ambrosia said, not wanting to stick around any longer.
Sunny nodded, about to follow Ambrosia to a seat at the front when Sophia enthusiastically invited, "Since we're all friends and happened to meet here, why not sit down and have lunch together? Alex and I ordered a lot of food that hasn't arrived yet.You can join us!"
Ambrosia remained unmoved. "No need. We'll order our own."
Sophia added, "Ms. Hawthorne, Alex mentioned you're a friend of Ms. Galatea. Sit down and join us. We can get to know each other. I want to discuss something with you."
Hearing her mention Katherine, Ambrosia stopped and looked back at her warily. "What do you want to talk about?"
Sophia smiled cheerfully. "Just talk about Ms. Galatea!"
Ambrosia narrowed her eyes, sensing that Sophia was not simple.
