Chapter 1044 A Pleasantly Surprising Newcomer

Her expression, her gaze, her posture, all conveyed her curiosity about the person in front of her.

The heroine wanted to get closer but was afraid to.

"What about you? What's your name?" The foreigner asked.

The heroine didn't understand why this foreigner could speak fluent Janetrick.

Who taught him?

"Are you a fake foreigner?" She asked.

Anson laughed and then explained to her seriously, "I've been teaching here for three years. This is my first time in this city. I'm not a fake foreigner; I'm a real foreigner."

When Griffin arrived, the fourth scene was being filmed, and Virginia was watching aside.

Griffin didn't expect to capture behind-the-scenes footage of Curtis's new movie!

As long as Curtis's name was attached, it was sure to make the headlines.

"Hey, why is this script such a mess?"

Finally, someone noticed the altered script and rushed it over to Christina, who was taking a break and sipping water.

"The script hasn't been backed up yet, Christina. You're about to shoot. What should we do? Mr. Caldwell will find out!"

The staff was so anxious they felt like crying. What terrible luck! Who would play such a cruel joke on them?

How could an inspirational film end up with large sections of historical drama dialogue added?

"It's okay." Christina didn't even finish her sentence before being called away.

"Scene four, take one. Let's try to get it in one take. Ready, action!"

Griffin was quick to record everything he needed. No wonder Virginia wanted him to come over; there was a great show waiting for him here.

"Would you like to take a walk with me? I'll show you the city where I grew up."

The shy yet bold and passionate country girl extended her hand to a young man she barely knew.

The heroine's mother had always said her child was both silly and bold, but she never expected her daughter to one day make such a "reckless" move.

Anson didn't take her hand. He knew that for girls here, holding hands wasn't a gesture of friendliness like it was abroad.

"I'd love to take a walk with you, Valeria. Your name is beautiful, and you're stunning too."

Valeria felt her cheeks flush at his direct compliment.

The two of them kept a shoulder's distance apart as they walked through the places where Valeria had grown up.

They walked past the beach, the now dilapidated kindergarten, the restaurant she always went to for breakfast, and finally to where she lived.

"Do you live here?"

Anson looked at the narrow alley in front of him, its walls showing the marks of time.

Valeria looked a bit puzzled. "How did you know where I live?"

He smiled. "A good friend once told me that these alleys are a hallmark of the city. Most locals live in places like this, so I figured your home might be here too."

"CUT, perfect! All the scenes for today are finished. Our leading lady has once again given us the most lively performance. Everyone, give Christina a round of applause!"

Curtis stood up and applauded her, and everyone was genuinely happy to finish work early.

Griffin reviewed the footage he had captured, still in awe of Christina's vibrant and authentic performance.

No, it couldn't be labeled as acting; she embodied the heroine herself.

Christina displayed none of the artificiality often seen in trained actors, who tend to carry an air of performance. This newcomer was sure to draw attention.

Having spent so many years in the entertainment industry, Griffin had seen it all. Some people just had that spark, and it was something others could only admire from a distance.

Christina shyly bowed and thanked everyone, "Thank you, everyone. All the staff worked hard. Thank you all."

It wasn't until Christina finished the scene that the staff felt relieved.

"Oh my god, that was close. I thought we wouldn't be able to shoot this scene. I didn't expect Christina to have memorized all the lines." She said this while patting her chest in relief, still quite scared.

"Yeah, I mentioned that Christina doesn't usually talk much and always keeps the script with her. Turns out she was quietly memorizing her lines all along."

In movies like theirs, where the plot could change at any moment, actors typically didn't put much effort into memorizing their lines.

After all, their dialogue could be rewritten at any time, making it seem pointless to invest too much time in memorization.

But what happened today with Christina just went to show that it was always a good idea to be prepared. You never knew when an unexpected situation might arise.

"You guys have no idea how fast Christina can memorize lines. I swear her eyes are like micro-cameras, capturing everything in an instant. Do you really think any of us could compete with her?"

"Mr. Caldwell really found a gem in her." Griffin walked over to Virginia with his camera. He was sharp enough to piece together what had happened on set with just a bit of observation.

It seemed someone was afraid of losing their position and had already made a move.

But he didn't care much. He and Virginia weren't that close, and it was clear she was using him.

That newcomer Christina was really good. If there was buzz, why not give her a push?

Over there, Curtis was still praising Christina, "The details in this scene were handled brilliantly. I guarantee that if you keep this up, by the end of the year, we might be able to submit the film for the Best Actress award at international film festivals."

Christina blushed, "Mr. Caldwell, please don't tease me. My current goal is to do a good job in your movie. As for winning awards, I'm still a newcomer. How could I be good enough for Best Actress?"

The producer laughed heartily, "Don't sell yourself short! With your talent and humility, how can you not succeed? Mr. Caldwell's words are quite prophetic. If he believes you can win an award, there's an eighty percent chance you might. Just wait and see!"

Christina pursed her lips and couldn't help but imagine her future.

One day, she might stand on the podium as an actress.

She hoped she could truly realize her self-worth through acting!

Griffin had already edited the behind-the-scenes footage in the car and posted it on his Twitter account with the title [Behind-the-scenes Footage Reveals the New Leading Lady of Mr. Caldwell's Latest Project—Incredible Talent! Mr. Caldwell Has an Eye for Talent!]

As soon as the video went live, it quickly drew the attention of curious netizens, including many of Virginia's fans, who flocked to see what kind of newcomer had taken on Virginia's role.
