Chapter 326 Take Off His Mask!
Katherine couldn't figure out why Lion was suddenly giving her that look. What was up with him?
Did her mask slip?
She quickly touched her face to make sure it was still on tight.
Lion's dark eyes made her uneasy.
She'd come prepared today, covering every detail, even her eyes. She wore realistic light blue contacts from Ambrosia that matched her natural eye color.
Lion stared at her eyes for a long time before his cold gaze softened.
For a moment, he thought Rabbit's eyes looked a lot like Katherine's, but the iris color was different.
He was overthinking it. No way Katherine was the hacker Rabbit.
Lion snapped out of it, sighed, and raised his glass to Rabbit. "Let's have a drink."
Katherine wanted to drink too, but thinking about the baby, she shook her head. "Sorry, I can't drink for health reasons. How about coffee?"
Even with a voice changer, he could tell she was a young girl.
Lion smiled. "Sure."
"Here’s to our happy breakup!" Katherine smiled, raised her coffee cup, clinked it with Lion's glass, and drank.
Happy break up? He chuckled and downed his drink.
Both down on their luck, they avoided each other's sad pasts and switched to talking about hacking techniques.
Lion chatted with her off and on, never putting down his glass, drinking one after another, trying to drown the pain of his wife leaving him.
Meanwhile, Katherine talked about her recent big find—a vulnerability in a high-level management system!
As she spoke, she noticed Lion hadn't responded in a while. Looking up, she saw him slumped in his chair, eyes closed.
She paused and called out, "Lion?"
No response.
Was he drunk?
She got up, pushed his body, and called out again.
Still no response. Using her medical knowledge, she quickly realized he was just drunk.
She frowned at the empty bottles of red wine and whiskey on the table.
Mixing drinks like that was a guaranteed way to get wasted.
Lion, a top hacker who should always stay sharp, got drunk in an unfamiliar place?!
Poor guy, his wife's betrayal must've hit him hard.
A man with such skills, yet troubled by love, was kind of endearing.
But now what?
Lion was drunk, and she had no idea if he had anyone to take him home.
After waiting a while and seeing no one come to pick up Lion, Katherine felt a bit annoyed. They barely knew each other, so she wasn't really obligated to take care of him.
But if she left him and someone took off his mask, exposing his real identity, it could spell big trouble for him.
Katherine had a soft spot for Lion and felt a sense of camaraderie. As a fellow hacker, she couldn't just leave him hanging!
But getting this drunk guy out of here was no easy task.
She took a deep breath, then tried to lift Lion, draping his long arm over her shoulder, and slowly walked him out.
People around them whispered, but Katherine couldn't care less.
After much effort, she finally got him downstairs. In the parking lot, the driver came to help, and together, they managed to get him into the car.
Once in the car, the driver respectfully asked, "Ms. Galatea, where to now?"
Katherine, panting heavily, glanced at the still very drunk man and reluctantly instructed, "Ambrosia has already booked a hotel; let's go there first."
"Yes, ma'am!" the driver replied.
At a famous five-star hotel in K City, the driver helped get Lion upstairs, into the suite, and onto the bed.
"Ms. Galatea, do you have any other instructions?" the driver asked.
"Nothing else, thank you." Katherine waved her hand, dismissing the driver.
Now, it was just her and Lion in the suite.
Katherine looked at the masked, unconscious man on the bed, feeling a bit conflicted.
Technically, they weren't close, and getting him to the hotel was already very considerate. She didn't need to do more; he would go home once he woke up.
But remembering how much Lion had drunk at the club, Katherine worried he might throw up. Drunk people often choke on their own vomit.
If that happened, she could be blamed for bringing him to the hotel.
And if the police got involved, their hacker identities could be exposed!
What a mess!
To be safe, she had to wait here until this big shot woke up before she could leave!
Sighing, she suddenly had a thought. Katherine walked slowly to the bed, her eyes fixed on Lion's mask, and uncontrollably reached out her hand.
This was a golden opportunity!
Yes! She wanted to take off Lion's mask and see the true face of this mysterious big shot.
Just then, her phone rang!
Katherine snapped out of it, took out her phone, and saw it was Ambrosia calling.
She turned away and walked a bit further before answering the call.
"What's up, Ambrosia?"
Ambrosia asked, "Katherine, are you still at Eden International?"
Katherine replied, "No, I just left. This forum wasn't very interesting!"
Ambrosia, usually composed, sounded a bit helpless. "Katherine, if you're done, can you come to the hospital? Sunny is injured."
Katherine frowned. "What happened? Where is he injured? Didn't I tell you not to hurt him?"
