Chapter 346 Has that Man Seen You?

Katherine met his intense gaze, her eyelashes fluttering, heart racing.

Usually so articulate, she was at a loss for words.

"You need to leave!"

She pointed at the bathroom door, hoping he'd go.

Alex's eyes followed her gesture, narrowing like a predator's.

Realizing she hadn't covered her chest, she screamed, curling up in embarrassment.

"Alex! You shameless jerk!"

He laughed, amused by her flustered state.

He lifted her chin with a rough fingertip, making her face him.

Katherine, both embarrassed and furious, blushed deeply, her fair shoulders turning pink.

With no clothes on, she had no choice but to plead. "Alex, please leave. We can talk after I get dressed!"

Unmoved, he kept holding her chin, gently pinching. "You were so out of it in the bath you didn't notice me come in. Were you this careless with Frank too? Letting him see you without knowing?"

His tone turned almost interrogative.

Katherine frowned, hugging her knees tightly in the warm water. "Of course not! Not everyone is a rogue like you, barging in on someone bathing!"

His brow furrowed. "I'm a rogue? Your friend changes women daily and takes them to different hotels. He's not a rogue?"

Her face stiffened. Frank's messy private life made her feel embarrassed. "Frank's a playboy, but he's not interested in me and wouldn't dare do anything."

Alex raised an eyebrow. "You're sure? What kind of bond makes you trust him so much?"

Katherine pouted. "I want to get dressed before talking! Even if you enjoy naked chatting, I don't!"

Alex's face was serious, but his eyes mocked. "I'm wearing clothes. How is this naked chatting?"

Yes! He was fully dressed!

Bastard, he's really bullying her!

Katherine was near tears. "Do you have to be so excessive?"

Seeing her angry face, he couldn't tease her anymore. He tossed a towel into the bathtub.

The towel floated on the water.

Katherine quickly grabbed it, wrapping herself up, feeling safer.

She tried to get out of the tub.

But Alex's hand pushed her back down.

She looked up, annoyed. "Alex, why won't you let me out?"

His stern gaze was like a parent scolding a careless child. "You haven't rinsed the foam out of your hair yet. What's the rush?"

Katherine was taken aback, remembering she had been washing her hair before dozing off in the tub.

She pouted and tried to kick him out again. "If you don't leave, how can I wash?"

Alex didn't argue. He grabbed the showerhead and, in a half-commanding tone, said, "Close your eyes."

Katherine was confused. Close her eyes? Was he really going to help her wash her hair?

"Stop stalling and close your eyes!" he ordered.

Feeling reprimanded, Katherine pouted but closed her eyes. Fine, she'd put up with it for now to avoid losing her towel again.

Seeing her comply, Alex tested the water temperature and then let the warm water flow over her hair, gently combing through it to wash away the foam.

Maybe it was true that pregnancy made one less sharp because Katherine seemed more out of it than usual. Alex didn't feel comfortable leaving her alone in the bathroom.

He hadn't come in to peep. She'd been in the bath too long, and when she didn't respond to his knocking, he used the key to check on her. With her being pregnant and dazed, he worried she might slip and fall.

As Alex gently combed her hair and massaged her scalp, Katherine felt so comfortable she almost dozed off again. Thinking the foam was gone, she peeked at him, dazed by the sight of him washing her hair.

Who would've thought proud Alex would serve her like this?

Noticing her gaze, he looked down and met her eyes. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Katherine felt shy, blinking. "Can't I look at you?"

He squinted, his tone mocking. "Do I look good?"

Katherine admitted, "...Yes, quite good-looking."

Alex's eyes darkened. "You think I look good, yet you ran off with another man? Seems I'm not the best-looking in Ms. Galatea's eyes!"

Katherine was speechless. Alex was so hung up on Frank that he might cause trouble for him and the Crescent Group.

Deciding to explain, she said, "Alex, Frank and I are from the same hometown. We grew up in the same village, like family. There are no romantic feelings. He's just a little brother to me."

Surprised by her explanation, Alex still sneered. "So, childhood sweethearts?"

She nodded. "Yes, something like that."

Alex's face turned serious. "Then, what's your relationship with the Crescent Group?"
