Chapter 603 Sleep With Me

Ambrosia's eyes narrowed, clearly annoyed. "Yeah, she said that. So what?"

Sophia leaned in, batting her lashes playfully. "Spill the tea, what trash did Ms. Galatea talk about Alex? Was she on point?"

Ambrosia snorted. "We're not tight enough for this kind of gossip."

Sophia shrugged, looking a bit let down but didn't push it. But Alex jumped in, "What did she say about me?"

Ambrosia hesitated, glancing at Alex, her gold-rimmed glasses catching the light. She smirked. "Whatever Katherine said, Mr. Melville, you probably don't give a damn anymore, right?"

Alex was getting ticked off. "Just tell me what she said."

Ambrosia kept dodging, grinning sarcastically. "She didn't say squat. I was just messing with Sophia. Chill out, Mr. Melville."

Alex's face darkened, anger flashing in his eyes.

Ambrosia avoided his stare and focused on her food.

Sunny picked up on the tension and Alex's irritation with Ambrosia. Trying to defuse it, he chimed in, "Mr. Melville, still no word on Katherine?"

"Nope." Alex's frustration was palpable.

Sunny was also curious about Katherine's whereabouts. He knew Bernard was searching high and low and occasionally hit up Billy for any leads, but nada. "Don't sweat it, Mr. Melville. Katherine's probably just out having a blast and will show up when she's done."

Alex stood up abruptly. "I'm hitting the restroom. Enjoy your meal."

Sunny got up too. "Mr. Melville, I need to go too. Let's roll."

Alex gave him a look but didn't object, letting him tag along.

"Ms. Hawthorne, if I'm not wrong, Ms. Galatea bailed because she found out about my marriage to Alex, right?" Sophia asked.

Ambrosia hadn't planned to answer but looked up, surprised.

Sophia smiled easily. "If that's why she's MIA, that's a real bummer!"

Ambrosia raised an eyebrow, finding Sophia more puzzling by the second. "You don't care about other women around Alex?"

Sophia laughed. "Why would I? And even if I did, what difference would it make? A guy like Alex, with his looks and power, is gonna have women flocking to him. If I stressed over every chick who came near him, I'd be worn out. I'd have no life, just babysitting Alex. It's pointless!"

Ambrosia said, "You've got quite the open mind!"

Sophia grinned. "Yeah, as long as he comes home at the end of the day, I don't care what he does with other chicks. Ms. Hawthorne, if you find Ms. Galatea, tell her I'd love to meet her. I bet we'd hit it off!"

Ambrosia frowned, thinking she'd never met anyone like Sophia.

Ambrosia stayed quiet, so Sophia nudged her. "Ms. Hawthorne, you should loosen up too! If a woman doesn't know her worth to a guy, she's gonna be exhausted."

"What should I understand?" Ambrosia was confused.

Sophia giggled. "I mean, Mr. Mitchell's at that age where he's all about romantic promises, right? Don't take them too seriously. Guys' feelings are like the wind. When they change, they won't even remember you!"

Ambrosia thought to herself, 'I don't need Sophia to tell me this; I know it well. Sunny's into me now, but it's just a phase. I'm not some naive teenager. I don't take Sunny's feelings too seriously. It's just a way to pass the time. Eventually, without me doing anything, Sunny will get bored and move on.'

"Thanks for the heads-up. I'm done here. Enjoy your meal. And thank Mr. Melville for the hospitality. I've got work to do, so I'm out." With that, Ambrosia put down her knife and fork and stood up.

Sophia blinked. "Leaving already? Aren't you waiting for Mr. Mitchell?"

Ambrosia walked out of the restaurant without answering.

When Sunny came back from the restroom, he noticed Ambrosia was gone and frowned. "Where'd she go?"

Sophia said, "Ms. Hawthorne said she had work to do and left. Where's Alex? Why isn’t he back with you?"

Sunny quickly replied, "He went out for a smoke. I gotta go too!"

"Mr. Mitchell, aren't you gonna eat?" Sophia asked.

Sunny didn't look back, just waved his hand and ran out to catch up with Ambrosia.

Sophia smiled as she watched Sunny's back, then got up to look for Alex near the restroom.

When Sunny reached the underground parking lot, he saw Ambrosia's car still there and sighed in relief.

He quickly walked over, opened the door, and got in, annoyed. "Ambrosia, why didn't you wait for me? I thought you left. I haven't even eaten yet!"

Ambrosia was typing a message on her phone. After sending it, she turned to see Sunny's unhappy expression. "I didn't leave. I'm waiting for you in the car."

Sunny said, "But I'm still hungry!"

Ambrosia put down her phone, leaned over, and kissed his face. "How about I treat you to something else?"

Ambrosia's sudden move made Sunny blush. "Something else?"

Ambrosia adjusted her glasses, smiling. "Would you like to sleep with me?"
