Chapter 474 He Did Not Refuse the Beauty

Teresa seemed very receptive after listening. "Katherine, I don't know if I can do it, but I really like him. I don't want to give up. Can you help me feel more flexible in the relationship?"

Katherine sighed, knowing she couldn't stop her. She patted Teresa's shoulder and said, "If you like him that much, don't be afraid of getting hurt. Being flexible in a relationship depends on your natural ability; it's not something I can teach you."

Honestly, Katherine wasn't sure if she could be at ease herself.

"Just follow your heart!"

With that, Katherine got up, ready to call Frank and give him a piece of her mind.

She wanted to tell him to leave Teresa alone. Despite her warnings, he went ahead and proposed. It was intentional!

As she stepped out, she saw a tall, handsome figure heading downstairs. She recognized Alex's back immediately.

Alex was going downstairs. Had he just come up?

What was he doing up here?

If he was looking for her, he should've knocked on Teresa's door.

Since he didn't, he probably just came up for something else.

Katherine didn't dwell on it and went into a nearby restroom to call Frank.

Frank answered quickly, sounding amused. "What's up, Katherine?"

Katherine coldly asked, "What do you mean?"

Frank still sounded playful. "Katherine, what are you talking about?"

Katherine pressed, "Don't play dumb! Why did you propose to Teresa?"

Frank laughed. "It's been a while since I met someone so innocent. I just wanted to see her reaction."

Katherine knew Frank hadn't been serious about anyone since his unattainable first love.

That's why she was so mad. Her tone grew sharper. "Didn't I tell you not to mess with her? Are you ignoring me?"

Teresa was the type of girl who was always consumed by thoughts of love; she can't handle emotional games and might do something drastic if things go wrong.

Frank sensed her genuine anger and got a bit more serious. "Katherine, don't be mad. Did she really come to you?"

Katherine snapped, "What do you think?"

Frank seemed flattered. "Wow, it's been a while since someone took my nonsense seriously!"

Katherine wanted to punch him, not talk.

"Frank, I'm telling you, either date her seriously or make her lose interest. But don't hurt her feelings or self-esteem! If anything happens to her, you'll answer to me!"

Frank felt a bit jealous. "Katherine, why are you so harsh on me for an outsider? Are you serious? Teresa is Alex's niece, not yours. Is she more important to you than me?"

Katherine paused for a couple of seconds, then calmed down. "No matter whose niece she is, she's a good girl and not someone you can toy with. Got it?"

Frank finally got serious. "Got it. I won't mess with her anymore!"

Katherine hung up and stared at herself in the mirror, feeling a bit dazed. It had been a while since she got that mad at Frank.

Was it because Teresa was Alex's niece that she cared more?

No, it wasn't about Alex.

It was because Teresa had always been genuinely kind to her, and she couldn't stand seeing her get hurt.

Coming out of the restroom, Katherine headed downstairs to find Alex.

Before she even reached the bottom, she saw the scene in the living room.

Alex had moved.

Before she and Teresa went upstairs, Alex was sitting alone on a single sofa. Now, he was in the middle of a three-seater with his friend Issac Sanchez on his left and a girl sitting very close on his right.

His change of seat meant he had indeed gone upstairs and come back down.

Katherine squinted, reluctantly admitting that seeing the girl so close to Alex made her a bit unhappy.

She walked over quietly, unnoticed.

The girl next to Alex took out her phone, took a deep breath, and leaned closer. "Mr. Melville, can I add you on social media?"

Katherine didn't stop because she thought Alex would refuse.

But then she heard him say, "Sure."

Katherine stopped, stunned.

She watched as Alex took out his phone and exchanged contact info with the girl.

The girl, blushing, whispered something in his ear, and Alex just listened.

Katherine stood there for a long time, then smiled wryly. His boredom and weariness came faster than she expected.

Men are all the same at their core: they loved the new and got tired of the old.

The funny thing was, she had just been upstairs praising Alex to Teresa, saying he was clean and self-respecting. She had really overthought it!

"Katherine, what are you doing standing there? Come and sit!"

Jonathan called her, waving with a smile while talking to Hilton.

After Jonathan called her name, Alex also turned to look at her, his expression unchanged.

The girl who had just asked for Alex's contact info saw her return and sensibly got up, pretending nothing had happened, and sat elsewhere.

Katherine snapped out of it and walked over, but she didn't sit next to Alex. Instead, she walked past and sat next to Jonathan.

Jonathan was a bit surprised, raising an eyebrow to see Alex's reaction.

The others noticed something was off and looked at Alex.

Alex squinted, said nothing, and showed no emotion as he looked at his phone.

Probably checking if the friend request had been accepted?

From her seat, Katherine could see the girl who had asked for Alex's contact info.

She looked young, with a pure appearance and fair skin. Not stunningly beautiful, but the kind of fresh young girl most men would like.

"Katherine, what's wrong? Why did you sit over here?"
