Chapter 214 Her Strap Slipped
Alex stroked her hair gently, as if petting a kitten. "This is the truth! Katherine, because Scarlett saved my life, I have to give her a reasonable explanation. Katherine rolled her eyes and interrupted him, "Stop, I get it!"
Alex raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What do you get?"
Katherine straightened up a bit in his arms and said, "I understand your difficulties! Because Miss Mitchell is your lifesaver, and she sacrificed something irretrievable to save you back then, you have a deep sense of guilt towards her. You can't just leave her when she's in trouble, right?"
Alex didn't deny it. "I'm sorry. Give me some time to repay her kindness, and I won't let you suffer like this again."
With the mutual understanding, Katherine felt relieved and replied, "It's okay. As long as you trust me, I won't be mad. Of course, it's right to be grateful, and I can understand and trust you!"
Alex frowned slightly, looking at her unhappily. "Katherine, if you get mad at me now, I wouldn't be angry at all."
Katherine laughed. "I won't get mad, I'm not that jealous!"
Alex gazed at her and said, "But I'm jealous. What should I do?"
Katherine was puzzled. "Alex, what are you being jealous about? I didn't do anything!"
The man lowered his face and asked her, "Did you just come into this room with Jonathan?"
Katherine nodded calmly. "Because he's your friend, I asked him to help me borrow some clothes, and then he brought me here to rest for a bit. He left after giving me a towel!"
Alex looked at her deeply and stated, "You don't need to explain. I know there's nothing between you two, but I still mind you having too much contact with other men. I can't help but get angry. And you don't seem to mind me contact with other women at all? You don't get angry? Katherine, sometimes I really wonder, am I dispensable for you?"
Katherine blinked and then answered, "Are you... feeling insecure, worried about losing me?"
Alex glared at her. "Yes! I feel insecure, I'm worried about losing you, I worry every day about what if you elope with someone else!"
As he spoke, Alex's rough hand gripped her waist and gave a teaching squeeze.
Katherine's body tensed up from the squeeze. ''Alex, I haven't even agreed to date you yet! You need to respect me, don't touch me randomly!"
He didn't care, his big hand gently tickling her waist. "You're my wife. Is it illegal for me to touch you?"
Katherine endured the ticklish feeling on her waist and corrected him. "We're not! We're just in a formal marriage. We haven't even gotten a Marriage License!"
If she hadn't mentioned it, Alex would have forgotten about it. He raised an eyebrow and said, "Then, shall we get a Marriage License tomorrow?"
Katherine was stunned, and her face blushed. "Don't misunderstand; I didn't say I wanted to get a license with you!"
Alex leaned in, gently touching her forehead, and said softly, "I want to get it, shall we? I'll take you there!"
Being so close, Alex's warm breath sprayed on her face. Katherine's heart skipped a beat, and she pushed his face away. "Alex, stop joking. A Marriage License isn't something you just get casually!"
Alex responded, "Not casually, we'll get it seriously!"
Katherine looked defiant. "Then I'm not going tomorrow! We'll talk about it later; I'll see how you behave; I need to think about it!"
Alex knew it wouldn't be easy to win Katherine over, so he smiled helplessly. "Alright, take your time. Getting the Marriage License is just a matter of time."
Katherine looked at his determined eyes and felt like she was a prey he had locked onto.
The strap on her shoulder had slipped down to her elbow without her noticing.
Angela's dress was a bit big for her, but it was sexy and cool. With the strap slipping down, her fair shoulder and neck were exposed, glowing enticingly.
Having just taken a shower, Katherine smelled fragrant.
Alex's pupils contracted, his gaze became scorching, and his Adam's apple bobbed.
Katherine noticed his strange gaze, followed his line of sight, and looked down, feeling ashamed!
The dress was already low-cut, and with the strap slipping down, the neckline fell even lower.
She flushed and then instinctively covered her chest with one hand. "Alex, what are you looking at!"
She quickly pulled the strap back up with her other hand, then covered the V-neck with both hands, not letting him see.
However, the dress was too big for her, and before she could do much, the straps slipped down again.
And this time, both straps fell!
It was extremely embarrassing. Katherine was both ashamed and anxious, not knowing which side to fix first.
Alex chuckled softly. With his long, distinct fingers, he personally adjusted the thin straps on both sides back onto her shoulders.
He curled a finger and gently scraped her round shoulder, smiling as he admired. "What did you eat growing up to be so fair!"
While being complimented on her fair skin, Katherine could already feel a strong, masculine presence emanating from Alex. She cautiously moved away from him. "I've changed my clothes, so I'll go out now!"
Alex didn't move but grabbed her small hand, not letting her go.
He asked, "Where are you going in your nightgown?"
"I'm going to eat barbecue! Wait, no." Katherine paused, looking back at him in surprise. "Alex, this isn't a nightgown!"
He frowned, indifferent. "With so little fabric, if it's not a nightgown, what is it?"
Katherine suddenly found it a bit funny. "Alex, with your status, I imagine you've attended many high-end parties. Haven't you seen girls wearing dresses with even less fabric than this? How can you act like you've never seen the world?"
He squinted his dark eyes. "I've seen plenty of women dressed like this, but not you. You can only dress like this for me to see! You're not allowed to go out. Stay here obediently. I'll have someone bring the barbecue to you."
Katherine insisted. "No, I want to go out and eat freshly grilled!"
His brows furrowed sternly. "Listen to me!"
Katherine didn't follow, and she had a hunch that if she stayed in this room any longer, Alex would probably devour her completely!
So, she forcefully shook off his hand and bolted.
Alex stood up.
Katherine hadn't run two steps before her wrist was grabbed again.
With a strong pull, Katherine spun back and collided with Alex's solid chest!
Dazed, Katherine hadn't had time to react before Alex's rough hands cupped her face, and a forceful, domineering kiss fell without warning, twisting and turning on her lips.
He then trailed kisses from her chin to her neck, giving a light bite as if he couldn't get enough.
Katherine felt flustered and overwhelmed. "Alex, please stop..."
