Chapter 578 Full of Anger
Frank leaned back, all nonchalant, "Anthony, doing personal stuff on the clock? Gotta have his boss give him a good ol' talking-to!"
Teresa, worried about getting Anthony in trouble, jumped in, "He just called me during his lunch break."
Frank, still playing it cool, raised an eyebrow. "Didn't he text you before lunch too?"
Teresa shot back, "That was just work stuff. We weren't chatting all day!"
Frank squinted, a sly grin forming. "Defending him, huh? So, you two hitting the movies together?"
Teresa's eyes darted around, trying to play it off. "I'll think about it. Not into horror flicks. If I scream and lose it in front of him, that'd be embarrassing!"
Frank's lips curled up. "Why not go with me then? I'd love to see you scream!"
Teresa was taken aback. "Mr. Perez, are you asking me out to a movie?"
Frank nodded, totally serious. "Yep, come with me. If you get scared, you can hold onto me. I won't mind!"
Teresa rolled her eyes. "Mr. Perez, your joke's not funny at all!"
'I am so done with Frank's flirting. He's already super attractive, and whenever he says stuff like this, my mind just goes wild! This can't keep happening!' Teresa thought, then reached out and took Charles from Frank's arms. "Thanks, Mr. Perez, for holding Charles. I'm starving. Gonna check if lunch is ready!"
With that, she turned and walked inside with Charles.
Frank followed, his tone serious. "So, you wanna catch a movie with me?"
"No!" Teresa's heart pounded; she couldn't handle Frank's teasing anymore. She sped up and went inside with Charles.
Just in time, Sandra had already told the staff to get lunch ready.
Sandra smiled warmly. "Teresa, I was just about to send someone to call you for lunch! Come on, have a seat! Try our food?"
Teresa nodded politely and then sat next to Katherine with Charles in her arms.
As soon as Charles saw Katherine, he reached out for her to hold him.
Katherine naturally took him into her arms. Even though they weren't blood-related, she knew Charles was super attached to her now, and she didn't mind.
At the dining table, besides Teresa, Frank, and Ambrosia, Anton had also sent someone upstairs to invite Fiona and Nathan, who was tutoring her, to join them.
The table was buzzing with chatter.
Jackie, who wasn't a fan of crowds, had his lunch in his room.
Sandra, sitting by the table, kept inviting everyone to eat more and kept serving food to Katherine.
Katherine didn't eat much herself but fed quite a bit to Charles.
Sandra originally didn't want Charles to mess up Katherine's meal, but since Charles only wanted Katherine, there was no choice but to let Katherine feed him.
Fiona, seeing the house packed with guests, felt something was off. She glanced at Katherine feeding Charles, then at Teresa next to Katherine, and finally at Frank beside Teresa. Her brows furrowed openly, "Teresa, why are you still hanging around this jerk? Stay away from him!"
Teresa, mid-bite and feeling awkward, didn't know what to say when Fiona dropped that bomb.
Frank, instead of getting mad, just grinned, "Ms. Melville, got a problem with me?"
Fiona, always a bit of a diva, was even more so at home. "Yeah! I can't stand you! What are you doing here? You're not welcome!"
Her bluntness made everyone at the table squirm.
Sandra frowned and scolded, "Fiona, don't be rude! He's Katherine's friend! Show some respect!"
Fiona, not happy with the scolding, looked at Katherine, "Katherine, you should stay away from scumbags like him. Don't you think he's dirty?"
Katherine looked up at Fiona, her gaze sharp but silent.
Sure, Frank was a jerk, but Katherine couldn't stand others trash-talking him!
Fiona felt a chill from Katherine's stare but, with her temper, glared back at Frank. "Sandra! You don't know that Frank messed with Teresa's feelings before! He wasn't into her but didn't push her away either. Then, when Katherine was in the hospital, Frank took some chick to a hotel and even had Teresa deliver sex toys to him. Isn't he a scumbag?"
Sandra, being older, was shocked, "What?"
Before Sandra could say more, Teresa, too embarrassed to eat, stood up. "Excuse me, I'm full! Need to use the restroom!"
Teresa's exit made the table vibe even more awkward.
Frank's cold gaze swept over Fiona, then he got up to find Teresa.
Everyone else at the table looked at Fiona with disapproval.
Fiona felt uncomfortable from the stares but didn't think she was wrong. 'I'm just someone who hates jerks! Frank is a jerk and dirty! I didn't say anything wrong!' she wondered.
Katherine also lost her appetite, put down her utensils, and said, "Seems like Fiona doesn't welcome my friend here? Fine, you all eat. I'm done too!"
Katherine left with Charles, and Ambrosia naturally wouldn't stay at the table either.
The scene was super awkward!
Sandra frowned, looking at Fiona with disappointment. "Fiona, how could you say that about Katherine's friend?"
Fiona looked innocent. "I didn't say anything wrong! He made Teresa cry before, and I'm just standing up for her!"
Sandra said, "Teresa doesn't mind anymore, so why are you standing up for her? Now are you happy?"
Fiona said, "If the guests don't eat, we can eat!"
Sandra replied, "It doesn't matter if the guests don't eat, but Katherine is pregnant. If she doesn't eat, it's bad for the baby. Wait until Alex comes back and see how he deals with you!"
