Chapter 344 Make Katherine Disappear from Earth!

Scarlett nodded. "Yeah, she promised Bernard she'd get an abortion, but once she was about to undergo the procedure, she changed her mind, and I couldn't stop her."

Sophie got anxious. "What? She still wants Bernard's kid? Does she even think she's worthy? Scarlett, tell me where Katherine is right now! I'm not letting her keep Bernard's child and use it to trap him into marriage!"

Scarlett looked down, wiping away tears. "Alex's sister Fiona just called. Katherine went to see Alex again."

Sophie was baffled. "What? Katherine went to see Alex again? What's she up to?"

Scarlett, sounding helpless, said, "I think she knows there's no hope with Bernard, so she's trying to win over Alex again."

Sophie, usually ladylike, couldn't help but curse, "Damn! Katherine's so shameless! She's pregnant with Bernard's kid and still trying to seduce Alex! How can someone like her exist?"

Scarlett sighed. "I used to think she was just strong-willed, not a bad person. Who knew she'd turn out like this!"

Sophie was even more resentful. "She's like a shadow, clinging to Bernard and Alex, and we can't get rid of her!"

Scarlett suddenly ground her teeth and let out a cold laugh. "If we can't get rid of her, we can make her disappear forever!"

Sophie was stunned, wondering if she had misheard. How could gentle and innocent Scarlett speak such venomous words in that tone? "Scarlett, did you just say you want to make Katherine disappear?"

Scarlett quickly put on her usual innocent look. "Sophie, I was just venting! How could we make someone disappear? Sometimes, I wish I had magic to send bad people to another planet so they'd never bother us again! Then I could be with Alex, and you could marry my brother."

Sophie's doubts about Scarlett vanished. She thought her friend was too kind-hearted, even imagining using magic to send bad people away instead of cursing them.

But making Katherine disappear didn't need magic; physical means could do the job.

Sophie pondered, a cold glint in her eyes. "Scarlett, don't worry, I'll make your wish come true!"

Scarlett pretended not to understand. "Sophie, what are you going to do?"

Sophie smiled mysteriously. "You'll know when you hear the good news! Scarlett, I have to go now. I'll visit you another day!"

"Sophie..."

Sophie seemed in a hurry, not stopping even when Scarlett called her.

Watching Sophie leave, Scarlett's lips curled into a cold smile.

Using someone else to do her dirty work was second nature to her.

Hopefully, this time Sophie would finally get rid of Katherine for good, saving Scarlett from future headaches.

Suddenly, the door creaked open, and a little child peeked in.

Seeing Scarlett, the child toddled in, reaching out and whining, "Mommy... Mommy... Hug."

It was Charles, the child she had insisted Alex adopt with her from abroad, who still didn't have a proper name.

Lately, she hadn't been in the mood to take care of him, leaving everything to the nanny. She was too lazy to deal with Charles.

He had some value before, serving as an excuse to cling to Alex and temporarily tie him down. But now, with Katherine pregnant with Alex's child, Charles was just a burden with no value.

Scarlett never loved him; he was just a tool. All her motherly tenderness was an act for Alex. When no one was around, she didn't even bother to pretend.

In her bad mood, seeing this now-useless child made her even more irritated. When Charles came over for a hug, she pushed him away in annoyance.

"Get away! Stay away from me! You little brat, all you do is eat and cry. Aren't you annoying!"

Charles fell hard, looking at his mother in confusion, then started crying.

Scarlett found his crying unbearable and, in her anger, pinched him hard, twisting his flesh.

"Cry, cry, cry! All you do is cry! I have so many people taking care of you; what do you have to cry about? If I hadn't adopted you, you'd still be in that poor orphanage, eating scraps! You should be grateful, not crying all the time! Enough! Stop crying, or I'll give you something to cry about! Shut up. Are you going to stop crying?"

Scarlett scolded and pinched Charles, venting her frustrations.

Charles didn't understand why his mother was angry. He only knew the pinching hurt, and he cried even harder.

The more he cried, the harder Scarlett pinched. This wasn't the first time. Whenever she was unhappy, she would vent on him, often hitting and scolding him, even pricking him with a needle when no one was around.

Charles, lacking a sense of security, thought he couldn't resist his mother. So, he would cry but still call for her.

"Why is Charles crying? What's going on?" Bernard rushed in, hearing the child's cries.

At that moment, Scarlett's hand was still pinching Charles.
