Chapter 781 Old Woman

Teresa crossed her arms, "What did I say wrong? Mr. Loomis, if you're as great as you claim, why would you need a blind date?"

Delbert slammed the table and stood up in anger, "If it weren't for our parents knowing each other, do you think I'd waste my time meeting someone as old as you?"

Teresa glared at him, "Old? You're calling me old? You're practically ancient compared to me!"

Unable to out-argue her, Delbert's temper flared. He grabbed the coffee on the table, ready to throw it at her face, but a hand suddenly appeared and stopped him!

Teresa instinctively dodged Delbert's action, but when no coffee splashed as expected, she looked up and was stunned.

Frank, after stopping Delbert's hand, took the coffee cup and calmly poured it into the trash can under the table.

Delbert looked at the man who had suddenly appeared, then at his coffee being taken away and dumped. He frowned in displeasure and asked, "Who are you? Why did you dump my coffee?"

Frank placed the empty cup on the table and smirked slightly, "Because I can't stand seeing a grown man throw coffee at a woman."

Standing up, Delbert was much shorter than Frank, nowhere near the height he claimed. Facing a man who was better looking and taller, he felt humiliated and got even angrier, "I'm arguing with my woman. What's it to you? Mind your own business!"

Frank laughed, "Your woman? Are you talking about the beautiful girl sitting across from you?"

Delbert confidently raised his chin, "That's right! Get lost, this has nothing to do with you! If you don't leave, I'll call the restaurant security to have you thrown out!"

Frank chuckled and then elegantly pulled out a chair, sitting next to Teresa, "Go ahead, call the security. Let's see who they throw out: the guy who tried to hit a woman or me."

Seeing him sit down, Delbert became even more furious. "Who told you to sit down? Stay away from my woman!"

Ignoring him, Frank turned to Teresa with a gentle look, "Teresa, this guy says you're his woman? Is that true?"

Still in shock, Teresa hadn't expected Frank to show up at this moment. It wasn't until she met Frank's handsome eyes that she snapped out of it and shook her head, "No, this is my first time meeting this guy ."

Hearing Teresa's answer, Frank looked back at Delbert, "Did you hear that? Teresa says she doesn't know you well."

Delbert was taken aback and pointed at the two of them, "You two know each other?"

Frank smiled, "Yes! To be honest, I've been pursuing Teresa for three years, but she hasn't accepted my advances."

Looking at Frank's far superior face, Delbert felt he couldn't win and started to mock, "You're really interested in her? Why? She's old and was almost married to someone else before. Are you sure she's worth it?"

Teresa, who could have retorted, was now silent with Frank present, lowering her head.

Frank's brow furrowed slightly, "Then why are you on a blind date with a woman you despise so much?"

Delbert sat down, smugly saying, "Her mother’s been asking everyone to find her a match. My mom heard about it and suggested I meet her. I figured it wouldn’t hurt to give it a shot, so here I am."

Frank smiled, "I see! So you came to take advantage of the situation?"

Delbert glanced at Teresa, "Not exactly. I'm doing her a favor. If word got out that no man was willing to go on a blind date with her, it would be even harder for her to find someone."

Frank scoffed, "Come on, we're both men. Stop pretending! You came because she's attractive and from a good family. Otherwise, with your qualifications, you couldn't land such an excellent girlfriend on your own."

Delbert's sensitive pride was hurt, "What did you say? I'm not qualified? How dare you say that? I'm a graduate from a prestigious foreign university. My mom says men like me are rare in this country! What's your education level that you dare say I'm not qualified?"

Frank smiled, "I don't need to tell you my education because I don't need it to prove myself. In my view, only those fresh out of school without a good job flaunt their degrees. If I'm not mistaken, you don't have a good job, do you?"

Delbert was speechless, hit right on the mark!

Indeed, he didn't have a good job. He struggled to find work abroad and, after returning home, his parents found him several jobs, but he turned them down, thinking they were beneath him.

He was a graduate from a prestigious foreign university; how could he start from the bottom? It was beneath him!

Frank continued to smile, "Mr. Loomis, I've seen many so-called top students like you—arrogant, mediocre, and still sponging off their parents in their late twenties. You're picky about jobs and girls but lack self-awareness!"

Delbert was furious, pointing at him, "How dare you say that? You don't even dare mention your degree. You're just good-looking, and you dare compare yourself to me?"

Frank elegantly took out a business card and slid it across the table, "I'm just a vice president of a publicly traded company. So, I think I'm not good enough for Teresa and need to keep working hard."

Delbert looked at the high-quality business card in disbelief, seeing the finely printed words: Vice President, Crescent Group, Frank.

The Crescent Group—of course, he had heard of it!

A very famous company, one that graduates from top schools dream of joining!

This man was actually the vice president of the Crescent Group!

But with such a status, wouldn't he have many beautiful women around him? Why would he pursue an old woman like Teresa?
