Chapter 767 Why Aren't You Sleeping Together?
Katherine's gaze was deep and intense, "Do you think that just because I found out the truth from someone else, I can accept it now?"
Ambrosia said, "Katherine, we've been searching for that child for the past three years, hoping to tell you once we found him! I know we were wrong. Whatever punishment you decide for us, we will accept it!"
Katherine called Ambrosia into the room not to pursue or punish, but because she was afraid that if something happened again, they would hide it from her, thinking she couldn't handle it.
She said in a low voice, "There's nothing I can't handle now. From now on, no matter what happens, you must report it to me truthfully and immediately. Understood?"
Ambrosia bowed respectfully, "Yes, Katherine!"
Katherine looked at the full moon in the sky and squinted, "By the way, what's going on between you and Sunny?"
When Sunny was mentioned, Ambrosia's expression showed a hint of discomfort, a headache-like emotion."Sunny is probably still holding a grudge from three years ago and wants to take it out on me."
Katherine tilted her head to look at Ambrosia, with a hint of doubt in her eyes, "You don't like him?"
Ambrosia adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses, "Not really."
Katherine lowered her eyes, "If you really don't like him, then don't bother with him. I'm not trying to interfere in your affairs, but I'm afraid you'll get hurt."
Ambrosia nodded, "Don't worry, Katherine, I know what I'm doing."
Katherine said nothing more about it. She once thought she knew what she was doing and would never get hurt by a man, but she still ended up in her current situation.
She didn't want to see Ambrosia follow in her footsteps.
"Alright, that's all. You should go back and rest early."
Ambrosia responded and prepared to leave, not wanting to stay longer and disturb Katherine's rest.
Katherine remembered something and said, "Go downstairs and tell Fiona to sleep with the three kids tonight. I'm a bit tired and want to sleep alone."
Ambrosia looked at Katherine with a bit of concern, and then left.
Katherine really had it tough, managing the Melville Group during the day and taking care of three kids at night. No wonder she was exhausted.
Late at night, Trevor felt a bit chilly in his sleep. He distinctly remembered closing the window before bed, and the hotel's central air conditioning maintained a constant temperature 24/7.
It was strange to feel cold.
He wasn't worried about himself but was concerned that George, sleeping next to him, might catch a cold.
He slowly opened his eyes, sat up, and turned his head to check if the window was closed properly.
He found that wind was indeed coming in, and the curtains were swaying in the moonlight.
No wonder it was cold; the window wasn't closed properly and had been blown open.
Trevor instinctively found it strange because he was sure he had closed the window tightly. Normally, it wouldn't open unless there was a severe storm, which clearly wasn't the case outside.
The room was dark, with only a faint white light from the moon, casting everything in shadows.
But he keenly sensed a presence that didn't belong to him or George.
Trevor paused his action of getting out of bed to close the window and calmly said, "Could you please close the window? It's cold at night, and the child might catch a cold."
After a long silence, the figure sitting on a chair in the bedroom stood up, walked over to close the window, and then returned to the chair.
It was hard to tell how long the person had been sitting there, but from the silhouette and the long, flowing hair visible in the moonlight, it was clear it was a woman.
With the wind stopped, it indeed felt less cold.
Trevor, unable to move his legs, didn't get out of bed but leaned against the headboard.
He looked at the still-sleeping George beside him, adjusted his blanket, and then turned to the figure in the dark, "If I'm not mistaken, you must be Katherine, right?"
Katherine sat calmly in the chair, though only she knew how cold she felt inside. She let out a bitter laugh.
"Yes. Even though you've lost your memory, you still remain as calm and unruffled as you were three years ago. Discovering someone has snuck into your bedroom in the middle of the night and still asking them to close the window for you?"
Trevor's tone was indifferent, "I can't help it; I'm physically impaired. If I could, I would have done it myself."
Katherine's calm and clear eyes looked at him through the darkness. Even though she could only see a vague outline, her gaze still pierced into his heart.
"Aren't you curious why I'm here?" Katherine asked him.
Trevor replied, "It's not about curiosity. I just think you shouldn't be here."
Katherine was silent for a moment. Then she stood up and walked towards him.
Her steps were very steady, and she showed no emotion, but the moment she reached the bedside, she suddenly reached out and grabbed Trevor's neck!
She squeezed hard, showing no mercy!
"Seeing you so indifferent, I really want to strangle you!"
Trevor was forced to look up at her. Being closer, he could see her face more clearly in the moonlight.
There was a faint sense of familiarity, but it wasn't strong.
However, he could clearly see the resentment in Katherine's eyes.
Unable to breathe, he didn't resist or make a sound, letting Katherine do as she pleased.
Eventually, Katherine let go, gritting her teeth and cursing, "You bastard, I shouldn't have trusted you!"
Trevor, gasping for breath, held his chest and chuckled lightly, "I'm sorry, but I don't remember the past or you. I can't make a specific apology, so I'll just say sorry."
Katherine sneered, "Even if you remember the past, you probably still wouldn't feel any remorse towards me! Because you're the kind of person who never keeps their word and has no shame!"
Trevor raised an eyebrow, "Then why did you have a child with me?"
Katherine's expression darkened, "Do you think I wanted to? The child was an accident. I wasn't interested in you, an old man, at all back then!"
Trevor looked at her intently, "So, you became interested in me later?"
He laughed, "Talking about this now is pointless, and it's not the right time for you to confront me. You should leave the way you came. If Sophia finds out, she might take the kid and me back to Markovia immediately, making it even harder for you to confront me."
Katherine glanced at George on the bed, "Why aren't you and Sophia sleeping in the same room?"
Trevor said, "Do you want me to sleep in the same room with her?"
