Chapter 62 Alexander Bathes Without Locking the Door
Katherine lowered her eyelashes, appearing tired. She seemed a bit weary, evoking more sympathy as she said, "Alexander, I hope you can trust me more in the future. Don't always be so vigilant that I might cheat. Could you give me a little space? I've said that since I agreed to cooperate with you for these three months, I absolutely won't cheat before the deadline. You can rest assured about this!"
Alexander replied, "Do you think I'm not trusting you today?"
Katherine raised her gaze, looking at him in disapproval. "Otherwise? If you trust me, would you have stayed at that inappropriate Party House today? You wouldn't have come into our private room to check on me, making my classmates feel embarrassed!"
Alexander's tone was indifferent. "Ms. Galatea, while we do have a business relationship, I need to be responsible for your personal safety during these three months. I don't doubt Ms. Galatea's. What truly concerns me are those male classmates around you. Can't Ms. Galatea see their different intentions towards you?"
Katherine shrugged it off. "I'm not stupid. Of course, I can see it. But I have boundaries and won't give them any opportunities."
Alexander's voice turned cold. "You won't give them opportunities? When someone offers you a drink, don't you raise your glass to drink?"
"Just a cocktail!" Katherine furrowed her brows, genuinely feeling that Alexander was making a big deal out of it!
Katherine was confident in her alcohol tolerance, just tasting it. She wouldn't overindulge.
"Just a drink?" Alexander's brows furrowed slightly, lecturing, "How do you know if that drink has been spiked? In such a chaotic environment, regardless of what others offer you to drink, you shouldn't drink indiscriminately. You're old enough to know this without me reminding you."
Katherine was bewildered by the sudden scolding. She was taken aback...
Today, Alexander attended her graduation ceremony in a parental role. Was he now positioning himself as her parent?
This parental-like lecturing tone Katherine had only seen in TV dramas for a long time...
Since her mother passed away, Katherine had no one to parent her and no one to look after her.
Mr. Galatea from the Galatea Family, who was indifferent, didn't care about what she did outside. he only worried about whether she would embarrass the Galatea Family!
It had been a long time since anyone had spoken to Katherine in this manner...
Katherine snapped back to reality, raising an eyebrow. "Alexander, what if you were offering me a drink? Should I not drink that either?"
Alexander hesitated for a moment, then narrowed his eyes. "Am I the same as others?"
Katherine sarcastically smiled, "Well, Alexander, you're definitely different! You clearly have no shortage of women. You don't need to resort to dirty tricks to get them. The point is... you're not interested in me. You wouldn't bother with such tactics."
Alexander fell silent for a moment and smiled slightly. "Ms. Galatea does have some self-awareness."
Katherine shot him a look, scoffing, "Alexander, you're really weird! Just now, you were mocking that no one would dare to marry me in the future, and now you're worried that someone might have ill intentions towards me, afraid they might spike my drink."
Alexander raised an eyebrow, a hint of mockery in his eyes. "In this world, there are all sorts of oddities. There will always be some with a peculiar taste of perverts."
Katherine chuckled, "Heh! Alexander, thank you for caring so much about my well-being."
Katherine's sarcasm gradually faded, becoming slow and weak, eventually becoming inaudible.
Soon after, Alexander felt a weight on his shoulder. Katherine, with her eyes lowered, breathing evenly, couldn't resist falling asleep. Katherine had been tired since earlier. she hadn't had a moment's rest all day. She was exhausted...
Alexander glanced over at the first girl who dared to rest her head on his shoulder, his brow slightly furrowed, his eyes a mix of amusement and disapproval, but he didn't move Katherine away.
When Katherine woke up, she found herself lying on the comfortable bed at the Melville Manor.
The sky outside was still dark...
How did she get back?
Katherine scratched her head but couldn't recall any memories of the journey from the subway to the Melville Manor.
Not dwelling on it too much, Katherine only remembered that she was still in her outer clothes and had gone to bed without taking a shower, feeling quite uncomfortable.
So she got up, grabbed some fresh clothes from the wardrobe in a daze, and walked straight into the bathroom. Inside the bathroom, there was steam and the sound of running water, and it was warm and humid.
Did she forget to turn off the shower when she came back?
Puzzled, Katherine walked towards the bathtub to check, and there she saw a man. He was broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted, and well-built.
The man who was showering also heard the commotion and abruptly turned his head. Their eyes met, one cold and stern, the other shocked and embarrassed.
Katherine was wide awake in an instant!
She quickly turned around, "Alexander, why... why didn't you lock the door while showering!"
Alexander's face was stern, his tone mocking, "Ms. Galatea, this seems to be my room. I'm in my room taking a shower. Is it necessary to lock the door? I should be asking you, why didn't you knock before coming in?"
Embarrassed and irritated, Katherine responded, "You hardly stay here. I got used to being alone. How could I have known you'd be showering inside?"
"I'm showering, you barge in, I'm not upset, yet you're not relenting?"
Katherine had to admit that Alexander had a point!
"Ms. Galatea, are you not leaving yet? Are you planning to bathe with me?"
Katherine gave a cold laugh, swiftly exiting the bathroom and slamming the door shut behind her!
The refreshing and brisk scent of soap in the bathroom made her blush, and Katherine just wanted to forget the forbidden image that had flashed before her eyes!
After this thrilling encounter, Katherine suddenly remembered something. Vaguely, she recalled falling asleep on the subway, and then at the station, Alexander didn't wake her up. It seemed like Alexander carried her back from the subway station.
Thinking about this, Katherine felt even more embarrassed.
Damn it!
Today, waking up too early for the graduation ceremony and then a whole day filled with too many events, first being set up by Fiona, then proving her innocence at the police station, attending the class reunion, and being persuaded to play the bass.
She was truly exhausted, which explained why she slept so deeply!
However, considering Alexander's status, the fact that he didn't leave her alone in the subway was already quite kind!
At that moment, Alexander emerged from the bathroom, draped in a bathrobe, exuding a refreshing and icy fragrance.
Katherine's breath caught, and she quickly entered the bathroom. She avoided a face-to-face encounter with Alexander, as it would be awkward.
When Katherine finished her shower and came out, Alexander was already asleep on the sofa.
With Sandra at home, they could only partially sleep in separate rooms, so they had to maintain their current arrangement.
As Alexander slept, Katherine breathed a sigh of relief and returned to bed.
The next day, Katherine woke up to find Alexander wasn't in the room.
She didn't mind. it was more comfortable for her when Alexander wasn't home.
As she stepped out of the room, she saw the maid at the Melville Manor carrying a suitcase downstairs.
Katherine found it strange and walked over to ask, "Whose luggage is that?"
