Chapter 200 I Am the Real Mrs. Melville!
The two servants who welcomed the three approached Anton and muttered discontentedly, "Anton, are they really Mrs. Melville's parents and sister? They don't look like they belong to the same family as Mrs. Melville at all!"
The other guy added, "Exactly! They don't seem like guests; they act like they own the place! They even said they want to renovate our yard, cut down the old pine tree, and get rid of Jackie's treasured potted plants!"
Anton heard this and also found the Galatea family's overstepping behavior hard to understand. He furrowed his brows and admonished his subordinates
He instructed, "Enough, are Mrs. Melville's guests for you to discuss? Go to the kitchen and brew a pot of good coffee! Have the maids prepare more snacks and fruits for the guests! Today is Mrs. Melville's family's first visit; we must not neglect them."
"Yes, sir."
"Yes, sir."
The two left reluctantly.
Sherry reclined comfortably on the luxurious fabric sofa in the living room, finding it much more comfortable than the one at home, so much so that she wanted to take a nap.
However, she didn't like the sofa's style. Although it looked expensive, the design needed to be more modern and staid.
Sitting with the air of a hostess, Sherry surveyed the mansion's furnishings, her meticulously drawn eyebrows knitting in displeasure.
She reprimanded, "Why is none of the decor to my taste? Every piece of furniture looks expensive, but they all feel so old-fashioned. I prefer a more modern and avant-garde style!"
Lillian, sitting beside her, smiled and reassured her daughter. "What does it matter? When you move in, you'll be the mistress of this house! Then you can decorate it however you want; just tell Mr. Melville, and he'll surely comply!"
Sherry thought about it and agreed.
In her mind, she couldn't help but recall the incredibly handsome Mr. Melville she had once seen, making her heart race uncontrollably.
He was the most handsome she had ever seen in her life!
And he was Mr. Melville of the first family! Even if he didn't have such a distinguished status, Sherry would still be willing to spend a few years with such a man, having a passionate love affair.
But it was infuriating that during this time, that little bitch Katherine had taken her place and enjoyed all the benefits of being Mr. Melville!
Who knew whether Katherine had slept with Mr. Melville? If she had, Sherry would make her pay!
Nearby, Joshua took the coffee offered by the Melville family maid, sipped it with great seriousness, and asked, "What kind of coffee is this? Why does it taste so sour?"
The maid replied, "This is premium Mandheling, which has a slightly acidic taste. If you're not used to it, I can get you a latte instead."
Mandheling was a world-class coffee bean, and Joshua, drinking it for the first time in his life, didn't know how to appreciate it.
He awkwardly cleared his throat and waved his hand, saying, "That won't be necessary I'll make do! By the way, where's my younger daughter Katherine? Why hasn't she come out to see me yet?"
The maid didn't know how to respond and remained silent.
Anton arrived just in time, smiling politely as he answered, "Mr. Galatea, Mrs. Melville is still getting ready. She'll come down once she's finished. Please have some coffee and snacks while you wait."
Joshua frowned in displeasure. "That ungrateful girl thinks she's a big shot now, daring to keep her father waiting!"
Sherry stood up angrily. "Exactly! Katherine is so arrogant! Our father is here, and she dares to keep us waiting? Is she too guilty to come down? I might as well go upstairs and get her myself!"
With that, Sherry impatiently made a move to go upstairs.
Anton frowned at this and signaled the servants to stop her.
Sherry glared at the servants blocking her way and arrogantly demanded, "Get out of my way!"
The servants remained unmoved, still blocking her from going upstairs.
Anton walked over and politely explained, "Ms. Galatea, I'm sorry, but the upstairs is our master's private area, and guests are not allowed. I hope you can understand."
Sherry was dismissive. "You dare to stop me? I'm not a guest! Do you know who I am? I am the real Mrs. Melville!"
"Sherry, why are you in such a bad mood early in the morning?" Katherine's voice suddenly drifted down from upstairs, interrupting Sherry's assertive declaration of authority.
Upon hearing the voice, Sherry looked up and immediately frowned because she saw Katherine, who looked relaxed and content, leaning on the railing of the second-floor balcony and smiling down at her!
Katherine still maintained her nonchalant demeanor. She was natural and serene, yet still so captivating that one might find themselves tracing her features!
She was wearing a simple nightgown, casual and leisurely, clearly just having woken up!
That old butler just mentioned that Katherine was getting ready, getting ready for what?
No wonder she hadn't come downstairs for quite some time. That little vixen Katherine must have still been asleep just now, simply not taking their arrival seriously!
Sherry was annoyed whenever she saw Katherine, and she wanted to confront her!
But the butler, Anton, stood firmly in her way while a few young servants beside him tightly blocked her path, not allowing her to go upstairs, causing quite a hindrance!
Unable to break through, Sherry bit her lip in frustration, raising her chin arrogantly and disdainfully saying, "You people, do you even know who I am? How dare you block my path! You have three seconds to move, or there will be consequences!"
Anton looked at her without anger but also without the initial politeness, with a hint of warning in his tone. "Ms. Galatea, we know you are Mrs. Melville's sister and a distinguished guest in our house. However,t please observe basic guest etiquette. Let me remind you again: the upstairs area is our master's private domain. Without Mr. Melville's permission, no one is allowed up there."
Sherry was getting frantic. "No one is allowed up there? Then why can she go up?"
She pointed at Katherine upstairs, looking defiant!
Anton, looking helpless but matter-of-fact, replied, "Because she is Mrs. Melville, Mr. Melville's wife and one of our masters."
Sherry was trembling with anger. "She is not Mrs. Melville; I am! She married in my position, and I'm here to reclaim my rightful place!"
Anton was stunned, what?!
