Chapter 720 Virgin

Upon hearing Katherine speak, Fiona restrained herself a bit. "But Katherine..."

Katherine was determined and stated her intentions clearly, "I won't go back with you, nor will I return to the Mitchell mansion. I'll stay in the hospital. If you want to see me or the babies, you can come anytime."

Sandra, her face full of worry, still wanted to take her away. "Katherine."

Katherine's tone softened. "Sandra, there's no need to say more. Before Alex returns, I won't go to the Melville mansion. I'm a bit tired now and want to rest. Ambrosia, take Sandra and Fiona to the nursery to see the babies, and then see them out for me."

Ambrosia responded, "Alright! Mrs. Sandra Melville, Ms. Fiona Melville, please follow me!"

Sandra furrowed her brows, realizing that Katherine still harbored resentment towards Alex and definitely wouldn't go back with them. She sighed and gave up, not forcing her anymore.

Sandra hadn't seen her great-grandson and great-granddaughter yet and really wanted to take a look.

Before leaving with Ambrosia, Sandra worriedly reminded Katherine, "Katherine, during your recovery, you must take care of your health. Don't catch a cold or get exposed to drafts. Try not to open the windows in the ward, and don't eat anything raw or cold, okay?"

Katherine nodded. "Okay."

Sandra sighed helplessly. "Alright, I'll go see the babies first and come back to see you another day."

Fiona also pouted, reluctantly saying goodbye to Katherine, "Katherine, I'm leaving. You must listen to Grandma and take care of yourself! Otherwise, Alex will be heartbroken when he returns!"

Then, Ambrosia led Sandra and Fiona out of the ward.

The ward quieted down, and Bernard walked to the bedside, gently saying to her, "How about we get discharged and go home to rest?"

Katherine's expression didn't change. "I just said, I'm not going anywhere. I'll stay in the hospital with my babies. Whenever they can be discharged, that's when I'll leave."

Bernard furrowed his brows helplessly, understanding Katherine's personality and knowing he couldn't persuade her. He gently stroked her cheek. "Alright then! I'll be with you and have a baby care expert come to take care of you. But it's inconvenient to cook in the hospital, so I'll have nutritious meals prepared at home and brought here."

Actually, Ambrosia had already found a baby care expert for her, but she felt uncomfortable with strangers in the ward and had sent her away.

Bernard arranged for another baby care expert, and Katherine didn't want to accept but was too tired to refuse, knowing it wouldn't help. He wouldn't listen anyway.

Since they were going to hire a baby care expert, one more or less didn't matter.

"Thanks," She responded faintly, not wanting to talk anymore.

She was very tired and in a bad mood.

At this moment, Jonathan, who had been quietly standing by the bed for a while, came over. "Bernard, I know a great baby care expert. Do you want me to introduce them to you?"

Bernard looked up at Jonathan, and furrowed his brows. "When did you get here?"

Jonathan smiled. "Just before you came in. I've been talking with Katherine for a while! Bernard, are you blind? You can't see me!"

Although they were friends, Bernard wasn't in the mood to joke. "Enough! Katherine needs to rest now. You shouldn't stay here either. Come out with me."

Jonathan looked at Katherine, who was leaning against the headboard with a somewhat dazed expression. "I think Katherine needs someone to talk to more than she needs rest right now."

Bernard frowned. "She probably doesn't want to talk to you right now."

Jonathan said, "That might not be true! If you don't believe me, go out and let me talk to Katherine alone for a while! I can definitely cheer her up!"

Bernard impatiently grabbed him. "Stop talking nonsense! Come out with me!"

Saying this, he dragged Jonathan out.

Jonathan had no choice but to call out to Katherine. "Katherine, I'll come to see you again tomorrow!"

Katherine just glanced at him without any change in expression, then turned her head to stare out the window in a daze.

After being dragged out of the ward by Bernard, Jonathan straightened his wrinkled clothes and complained, "Bernard, I finally had a chance to talk to Katherine alone and try to win her over!"

Bernard gave him a look. "I advise you not to bother her right now. She's already very upset."

Jonathan rolled his eyes. "We both know who's responsible for her being upset! Bernard, I think you should realize that Katherine won't be happy with Alex! Look, isn't it obvious now?"

Bernard frowned. "She won't be happy with Alex, but do you think she'll be happy with you? I'm telling you, stay away from Katherine! None of you are good for her!"

Jonathan asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Bernard scoffed, "Your romantic history isn't clean either! Don't pretend in front of me!"

Jonathan tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Come on, man! Every guy has a past!"

Thinking of Bernard, who was standing in front of him, Jonathan couldn't help but smile sheepishly. "Oh, that's right! Bernard, you're the legendary pure guy, still a virgin! I'm wrong!"

Bernard was annoyed. "Get lost"

Jonathan patted Bernard's shoulder. "Relax, man! Can't you take a joke? Besides, I was complimenting you!"

Bernard slapped his hand away.

Jonathan shrugged, then got a bit more serious. "Bernard, no more jokes! I'm serious. I think I can give Katherine the happiest and most relaxed life. I can bring her happiness. I won't be like Alex, always letting her down when she needs him the most! Think about it—me as your brother-in-law. We've been good buddies for so many years. Don't you want me as part of the family?"

Bernard's expression remained unchanged, still looking at him with disdain. "You're not good enough for Katherine! Don't even think about it!"
