Chapter 629 Turning Over a New Leaf

Teresa had never cooked a day in her life, but for love, she decided to give it a shot. With a clear goal in mind, she picked it up fast and even nailed a few signature dishes.

Looking back now, she felt kinda silly. The first time she busted her butt to learn something was for Frank, not herself.

"Don't you think we're acting like a married couple now?" Frank said.

Teresa, who was flipping a steak, snapped back to reality and blushed a bit, but mostly felt annoyed. "Mr. Perez, if you keep yapping, you can leave!"

Frank chuckled. "Just saying how I feel. You mad?"

Teresa ignored him.

When they had all the dishes ready, they heard the front door open. They both looked over and saw Ambrosia walk in, looking beat, with Sunny trailing behind.

Sunny and Teresa frowned at each other and almost at the same time asked, "What are you doing here?"

Ambrosia was a bit surprised to see them busy in the kitchen but didn't say anything. She just walked over to Frank and asked, "Where's Katherine?"

Frank washed his hands. "She's crashed in the room."

Ambrosia nodded, relieved, then took off her coat, tossed it on the sofa, and headed to Katherine's room. She knocked and went in.

Sunny didn't follow her. He ran to the kitchen and gave Teresa a sideways glance. "Teresa, why are you here cooking? You dating Frank?"

Teresa glared at him. "Don't talk crap! I should be asking you, why'd you come back with Ms. Hawthorne?"

Sunny puffed out his chest and didn't hide anything. "We're just dating."

Teresa rolled her eyes. "I really don't get why Ms. Hawthorne is dating you."

Sunny frowned, not liking what he heard. "What do you mean by that? Teresa! Don't think just 'cause of Alex, I won't do anything to you!"

Teresa snorted, "To deal with you, I don't even need to bring up Alex. I just need to call Bernard and tell him you're here, and he'll send someone to drag you away. Believe it or not?"

Sunny's eyes widened, genuinely scared. "Please, I don't wanna go home yet. You've made such good food; let me eat before I leave."

Teresa pouted. "You're not here for the food! You're here for Ms. Hawthorne, right?"

Sunny blushed with that unique shyness of a young boy in love. "You know it, and you still ask! What's wrong with wanting to hang out with my girlfriend?"

Teresa smirked. "It's normal! Go find your girlfriend, don't get in my way!"

Sunny had no plans to leave. He looked at her with wide eyes, probing, "I told you why I came back, but you haven't told me why you're here cooking. Come on, are you really not dating Frank?"

Teresa snapped, "Get lost. We're not dating!"

Sunny frowned, confused. "Then what, are you doing volunteer work here?"

Teresa said, "Katherine is here. Can't I come to take care of Katherine for Alex?"

Sunny suddenly got it. "I see. By the way, how are Katherine and Alex? Why didn't she go back to Melville Manor and came here instead?"

Talking about Alex and Katherine made Teresa worried. "Not good. They had a fight as soon as they met and split on bad terms. So Katherine came here."

Sunny, instinctively worried about Katherine too, asked, "Split on bad terms? Didn't Alex come here for her? He's been looking for Katherine everywhere; he should have come here to make up."

Teresa shrugged helplessly. "I don't know what's going on. Anyway, Alex didn't come after her, so I'm here to take care of Katherine for him."

Sunny thought for a moment and moved closer, wanting to ask more. But before he could, Frank grabbed his collar from behind and pulled him away.

Frank, with a smile on his face but not a friendly tone, said, "If you're gonna talk, don't get so close to her." Frank threw Sunny out. "If you can't help, go watch TV in the living room and stop causing trouble."

Sunny straightened his collar. "You're jealous just 'cause I'm talking to Teresa! Teresa, Frank is not a faithful man, be careful!"

Frank glared at Sunny with a smile. "Do you believe I can break you and Ambrosia up with just one word?"

Sunny arrogantly turned around and went to the living room to watch TV.

Teresa lowered her head, ready to start cooking again when Frank walked up to her and whispered, "I used to be a jerk, but can you give me a chance to turn over a new leaf?"

Teresa didn't look up at him. "Mr. Perez, you should say that to a girl willing to give you a chance, not to someone like me who already has a boyfriend!"

Frank said nothing more. He reached out and took a few sauce-stained bowls from the table to wash.

Teresa also breathed a sigh of relief as she thought, 'Thank God I have principles. Otherwise, I might really have agreed to Frank because his performance today is too convincing. If I didn't have a boyfriend now, I might really agree. Forget it! I've already decided to develop my relationship with Anthony, so I shouldn't think about these things. Don't have an emotional affair, Teresa! Stay clear-headed!'

Sunny sat in the living room, munching on snacks and watching TV, occasionally sneaking curious glances towards the kitchen.
