Chapter 742 Running Around Again!
"What are you crying for?" Sophia snapped at the person, only to look up and see that the one crying on the ground was Julian!
"It hurts," Julian said, clutching his injured knee, grimacing in pain.
Sophia was puzzled. When did Julian come out with her?
Wait a minute! Even if Julian had followed her out, how did he end up bumping into her head-on?
Sophia rubbed her twisted ankle and stood up. "Julian, where did you go? How did you come from that direction?"
The child who bumped into Sophia was indeed Julian.
Julian had just run out of the restroom, afraid of being discovered by Charles and Billy. In his haste, he accidentally collided with Sophia.
When Julian was questioned, his crying paused, and he felt a bit guilty, unsure of how to explain. He told the truth. "I came from the restroom."
Did this kid go to the restroom?
But she had gone to the restroom first and didn't see Julian go ahead of her.
Sophia looked puzzled and glanced ahead, then behind her.
Taking a detour around the auction house could indeed lead to the restroom. Did Julian run that fast?
Did he really make a full circle back?
Julian, in pain from his fall, couldn't help but cry, "I want to find Daddy."
The auction house was very quiet overall, and Julian's crying was particularly jarring, drawing the attention of people in nearby private rooms, making it very awkward.
Sophia had no choice but to pick Julian up. "Alright, be good! The auction is about to start. Don't cry here and disturb others!"
She was worried that this might affect the auction of Brent's land.
Julian didn't resist Sophia's embrace but didn't seem very close either. He just let her carry him back to the private room.
Pushing open the door to the private room, Trevor was sitting in the wheelchair, quietly drinking coffee, lost in thought.
Hearing the commotion, Trevor snapped out of it and looked up at Sophia and Julian, frowning in surprise. "Didn't you just go out? Why are you back so soon?"
Sophia sighed and was about to describe what had just happened when Julian struggled out of her arms and ran crying to Trevor. "Daddy!"
Trevor frowned, looking down at the pitiful Julian clinging to his leg. "What's going on? Didn't you say you were going out to apologize to Sophia? Why are you crying now?"
Julian didn't understand Trevor's words. He had just seen Trevor. When did he say he was going to apologize to Sophia? And why should he apologize?
Also, he hadn't been home all night yesterday. Wasn't Trevor worried or anxious?
Sophia was taken aback by Trevor and Julian's conversation and confirmed, "Trevor, you mean Julian chased after me to apologize?"
Trevor looked up at Sophia, his expression confirming the answer. "After you left, I talked to him, and he realized he was wrong. He said he wanted to go out and apologize to you."
Sophia had initially found it strange that Julian had bumped into her, but after hearing Trevor's explanation, it seemed reasonable!
It was supposed that he had chased after her in a hurry, but he went in the wrong direction, made a full circle, and bumped into her again!
Sophia was somewhat surprised that Julian came out to apologize to her. Was this the same Julian she knew? It was quite a change!
In front of Trevor, she wanted to appear magnanimous. "Julian, I didn't blame you, but please don't talk to me like that in the future. It really makes me sad."
Julian didn't understand what Sophia was saying, but after experiencing the feeling of having the beautiful Katherine as his mommy, he liked the pretentious Sophia even less.
Ignoring Sophia, Julian turned his head away from her and quietly nestled beside Trevor.
Sophia didn't get a response, and her expression stiffened again. But this time, she just assumed Julian was in a bad mood because of the pain and let it go.
The auction hadn't officially started yet, and Katherine and Bernard were chatting about the items up for bid today.
Billy suddenly came back with Charles in a hurry. Usually calm, Billy now looked distressed and apologized, "Ms. Galatea, I'm so sorry. It's my fault for not keeping an eye on the child! George has run off somewhere!"
What? George ran off again?
Katherine immediately stood up, ready to rush out and find George.
At that moment, the auctioneer took the stage and announced the official start of the auction!
Bernard also stood up, intending to accompany her to find George.
Katherine, not panicking to the point of losing her mind, looked seriously at Bernard. "Mr. Mitchell, don't follow me! You need to stay here and watch Charles and Edith for me, and keep an eye on the auction. You must help me win the bid for Silvershade Vale, no matter the price! I'll go find George myself!"
Bernard frowned deeply. Although he was worried about Katherine being alone, he also knew how much Katherine wanted that piece of land.
So, Bernard stopped and nodded, advising, "Be careful."
"Okay!" Katherine responded and quickly ran out.
Bernard, with a serious expression, nodded to Billy, signaling him to follow her.
Billy understood and immediately followed.
Bernard took out his phone and called the auction house owner, asking the security personnel at all major exits to keep an eye out for a baby moving alone.
George had tricked Trevor into thinking he was going out to apologize to Sophia because he thought he heard Charles's voice!
Just as Trevor was lecturing him, he seemed to hear Charles's voice saying, "George, where are you?" It sounded like it came from right outside their private room.
He wanted to go out and see if it was Charles, so he told Trevor he was going out to apologize to Sophia.
Since Sophia had just left and hadn't gone far, Trevor agreed.
But after coming out of the private room, he didn't see Charles. He wandered around the second floor of the auction house but still couldn't find Charles!
Did he hear wrong?
He had thought it was such a coincidence that Katherine had also brought Charles to this auction!
Feeling a bit disappointed, he walked back, passed by the restroom, felt the urge to pee, and went in to relieve himself before going back to find Trevor.
